    It is with great relief we are watching him deliver on that promise often with the speed of a wrecking ball.

    Human nature’s tendency to live in willful ignorance often means we have to celebrate by our lonesome’s , as even many on our own side cannot disabuse themselves of the world they thought they knew .

  8. I’ve been canning up jerky and rice for a while. I had a jar that wouldn’t seal (twice) after a hot bath on the stove. So I poured it out in a big bowl and put it in another jar. I was surprised at how much food I had in that jar. If it was just me, I could have lived for a week on what was in that jar. Of course, a family of four (with voracious children) would need a lot more food.

    Anyway, I’m continuing to stockpile long term storage food. The next big project is cracking and canning macadamia nuts. I’ve got a good harvest this year and instead of giving the nuts away, I’m going to crack them, roll them in sea salt dust, and then jar them up. I also just canned up some dried tomatoes in olive oil and stuck that in storage. – It’s a bit of work, but if you have ever been hungry, it is a lot easier than trying to scrounge up a feed.
