The Ukrainian Crisis Presents Australia With An Opportunity If It Has the Nous To Grasp It

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has prompted an entirely predictable response from the Australian government. The Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced that he is sending financial aid and goods to the Ukraine. In this he has been supported by the Labor Party which shows yet again that when it comes to fighting Imperial wars there is not an inch of space between them.

Those of you who are old enough to remember that in 2001 the Labor Party opposed the United States lead invasion of Afghanistan. That, like most of the United States post World War II wars, was based on a lie, in that case that Osama bin Laden had been responsible for the attacks upon New York City and Washington DC on 11 September 2001.

Some may also recall that the New York Times, in December 2001, published bin Laden’s obituary, he having succumbed to long-standing illnesses. But that did not deter the Americans from making war against Afghanistan, even after, on their own account, they captured, executed and buried at sea (where the execution could never be checked) the man they claimed was bin Laden. Even that did not deter the Americans who continued the war in Afghanistan for a further 10 years after bin Laden was “killed”.

But what happened to the Labor Party’s opposition to that war? It mysteriously disappeared during their year six years in power and Australian troops were still there when the United States finally admitted defeat and rapidly left the country. Australia, along with the United States’ other allies in the 20-year war, were not consulted about the United States decision to pack their bags and flee.

An identical story can be told about the invasion of Iraq in 2003. Again, Australia was a willing participant in this United States war of aggression against an oil rich country. The difference here from Afghanistan is that the Americans, and their loyal Australian lackies, are still there, nearly 19 years later, ignoring a 2001 demand from the Iraqi government that they should pack their bags and leave. The Australian Labor Party is once again in support of a military misadventure. They can hardly claim they are there because of Iraq’s fabled weapons of mass destruction, or that they are staying at the request of a puppet government.

Now the Prime Minister has thrown Australia’s hat into the ring of the West’s opposition to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Again, his moral and goods support of the Ukrainian regime is supported by the Labor Party. Let’s have a closer look at this regime that Australia has been so quick to support.

In 2014 there was a United States financed and organised coup in Ukraine. The legitimate president was forced to flee for his life. Three regions of Ukraine did not accept this coup as in any way legitimate. Crimea held a referendum and voted overwhelmingly to apply to re-join Russia from who it had been forcibly separated in 1954 by Soviet president Khrushchev. The other two regions, the Lugansk and Donetsk republics declared their own independence.

This was not accepted by the Ukrainian government who ever since has waged war on the two republics, killing at least 12,000 of its citizens. The most relevant point for present purposes about that Ukraine government coup however, was that it was met with complete silence by the Australian government. Not a word of protest was added as Ukraine waged war against the two self-proclaimed independent republics.

Eventually this year, Russia decided to recognise the two republics. Russian patience with Ukraine’s blatant defiance of the Minsk agreements, negotiated in 2015 and signed by Ukraine, had finally run out. They have declared their support for the two republics and shortly after launched their war against Ukraine. That war has distinctly limited objectives, although one would never learn that from the Australian media who utter wild talk about Putin wanting to recreate the old Soviet Union.

The Russian objective has been clearly stated. They intend to rid Ukraine of the official government and install an independent regime that will respect the rights of all of its citizens. This would include the 40% of Ukrainians who are native Russian speakers, but whose use of their language has been brutally suppressed by the fascist regime in Kiev.

The Western powers, including Australia, have loudly denounced the Russian invasion and extended sanctions against Russia. This has extended to closing down the broadcast of Russia Today, the main Russian news channel that had hitherto been broadcast on Australian TV. This blatant suppression of free speech has again been met with total silence from the Labor Party.

The European Union has equally taken steps to suppress all Russian contact with their members, and imposed a variety of trade restrictions. They have been careful however, not to include banning Russian energy supplies which account for 40% of their total energy usage. They did however, announce that North Stream 2 has been cancelled.

This is a massive misjudgment. Although blocking Nord Stream 2 will cause the Russians some inconvenience, they have infinite ample opportunities to direct the energy production to the East. China is only one of several eastern countries that welcome Russian energy supplies. For the Europeans however, the loss of 40% of their power supply poses massive inconvenience at the least, and potentially fatal consequences for a population unable to meet basic heating needs.

The West has seriously overreacted to this situation with potentially disastrous consequences. The hysteria manifest in, for example, the relentless portrayal of Russian leader Putin is a latter-day Adolf Hitler does nothing to resolve the conflict. He is doing no more than attempting to protect his countries vital interests. What the crisis will do is hasten the day that a New World order, free of the United States’ quest to fashion the world according to its wishes and needs, takes its place. Australia will have to face that reality and for the first time in many decades choose where its vital interests really lie.

    • “What would we have Canberra do” ???? For starters, they can pull their heads in, and concentrate on OUR issues in the Southern Hemisphere and OUR relations with OUR neighbours in South East Asia, something that has been sadly neglected over the last 20 years. Ukraine and Russia, in case our idiots in Canberra are unawares, are NOT in the Southern Hemisphere, and have nothing to do with us. The alleged aggression we are being inundated with, allegedly emanating from Russia, is simply in the minds of the sycophant politicians and the MSM, who see nothing but personal gain and self agrandisment for themselves in persuing that agenda. If there is aggression, those same IDIOTS in Canberra need to take a good look in the mirror to discover it’s source.

    • No CCP pork, sounds good to me, and if they stop buying our oil and gas we might get some of it back for domestic use, cheaper. China was nothing to us 20 years ago, at that time people were tipping India as being the next big thing.
      Al-Jazeera had a local (Ukraina area) guy saying the west had been building up military resources for about a year before Putin countered this. Roughly the period of the Biden residency. We don’t hear much about this, exactly as we don’t hear much about the missiles in Turkey preceding the famous JFK Cuban Missile Crisis from 60 years ago.
      Lefties in France and elsewhere are demanding an end to “the war” and their solution is to escalate the war. Putin says any nation imposing a no-fly zone will be treated as an enemy combatant.
      These dynamics are about oil pipelines, massive energy company rackets and perhaps even more, about territories on Russia’s southern doorstep, which the Bush regimes have trampled over for decades ( Imperial Britain before that ).
      Consider – when did Iran ever get taken off the table ?
      I would say Iran has been viewed with deadly intent, for more than 20 years.
      It seems all of Putin’s actions are actually reactions. We don’t hear much about that.

    • Ant56, true up to a point. here in W.A. we haven’t an issue with Pork farms. Got lots of them, plenty Pork to go around for everyone. BUT, we ARE being shafted by our “leaders” no doubt about it. But what are the people to do about it ? Recently I asked Pauline Hanson’s party what their Foreign Affairs policy was, and what their policy was regarding our military. Predictably, I got no response whatever. My money says no matter which party you pose this question too, the response, (if you even get one) will be in the negative. This clearly tells us our Government is TOTALY COMPROMIISED, and no matter which party, out of the whole lot of them, is independent and stands for Australians. Not a one of them. We are done, like a dogs dinner.

Remember when 98% was made here, we certainly had fair play back then, although it was still hard work, we had something to show for it.     I believe there is a slight semantic misunderstanding when Anne-Laure refers to the central Ukrainian authorities bombing its own citizens. We must remember that until the military coup in 2014 they were all just ‘Ukrainian citizens’ – many of whom were Russian speaking and indeed Russian in every way – they didn’t become ‘separatists’ until the militant Zionist regime was established in 2014.

    The only real question now is whether Putin is also complicit and that these people (Ukrainians AND Russian) are being ethnically cleansed from the region.

  7. James – a good article, but an article that requires a little more info put into it. You are simply scratching the surface of what is really occurring within Ukraine itself – why would the corrupt West be so hostile against a real leader (Putin) and a country that just wants to be left alone?

    Maybe Putin has been exposing what the West truly represents – a criminal cabal? And a cabal that truly encompasses all of the Evil we were once upon a time, continually warned about?

    Why does the Fourth Reich call itself the European Union? One only need to observe the EU rules of membership to realize that Nazism was never defeated, or even died out. So does that give some legitimacy to Putin’s statement of de-nazifying the Ukraine?

    Who was Martin Borman, and what was his vision of, ‘The Third Way’ that we can all bear witness to today – that is – those of us who know a little hidden history?

    • It’s interesting to look at European history since Rome in its totality, the Mediterranean was not the only maritime battlefield, the Baltic also saw Sweden constantly bashing everyone around, and invading the East all the way down to Ukraina. From these northern warring empires the Danish-British empire emerged, a rival to the southern empires, and with the invasion and later infiltration of North America, a spectacular success. I would say friction between the northern and southern Euro power-bases reached its peak in ww2. Swissy’s hidden hand was never shown, just as Windsor Castle was never bombed.

Not just banks, business deals and so forth, now we are seeing a formal alliance between the elites against all the world’s commoners. The upstart northern empire has been merged into the whole. There are stories about bio-weapons labs having been installed in Ukraina near the Russian border, presumably the technicians all captured by now, locked up and threatened with exquisite tortures if they don’t hand over all information to Russia. Not much chance of us learning what is planned for SPARS 2025 in that case. As the name suggests we presume it is developed from the famous bird flu. Is it possible Gates will still be on the loose by 2025 ? I seriously doubt it, now his fingerprints are even all over the Las Vegas massacre. Rockerfellas will probably be resettled onto a Greek Island and the whole program will keep on going, whether rolled out in 2025 or delayed I can’t guess.       I went looking for an answer as to the possible length of immunity after Smallpox vaccinations. I myself definitely would need a new injection – but maybe a good idea to avoid all vaccines made by Big Pharma? (There is a cure for Variola from 1890 ish, from a plant one can grow in ones backyard – the name escapes me.)

          We have one of these European medicine shops (opposite of Chinese medicine shops) here I have been getting a few things from lately, the GP is actually quite useless for most things, I tried more than 6 before I got a half-decent one.
          Lately I have been eating apricot kernels and fish collagen for dry skin, it’s a bit like a keratosis but not that bad yet, anyway the medicine seems to be working about 80% so far.
          I also got magnesium citrate for back cramps which seems to work somewhat, doctor and chiropractor again useless, not interested in cures, only repeat consultations, 6 or 10 minutes each, “see you next time”, ka-ching. They make you sit in their waiting area, they will see you at their pleasure, even one hour they don’t care, then their advice is usually inferior to the internet.

          • W3… Ask the 40 year old ladies of your acquaintance for the phone number of a good naturopath. There are several elements missing from your diet, even if you are living on fresh raw vegetables. I would bet you are low on iodine and selenium, for a start.

          • The MedicalCentre™ doctor checked my blood and said it was better than hers. My secret is I like to eat watercress, it absorbs like nothing else. I do put seaweed on salad fairly regularly, that is a japanese style of salad with fish. Watercress should probably grow up north because they have plenty in SEAsia. Hippocrates said it cures everything so I started having it regularly in 2014, it makes lettuce taste very bland indeed. Watercress used to be a staple until after ww2 when white bread was pushed everywhere instead.

    Denis Kireev, a member of Ukraine’s delegation to the peace talks with Russia, was killed after being arrested by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

    He was accused of treason, reports “La Repubblica”. He is said to have passed on secret information to Moscow. The incident was also confirmed by MP Alexander Dubinsky, who wrote in his Telegram channel: “Kireev is Klyuyev’s man” (according to the publications, the Klyuyev brothers are Ukrainian millionaires close to former President Viktor Yanukovych, who after the Euromaidan events after fled to Russia).

    Victoria Nuland is currently serving as Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs in the Biden – Obama Administration but she was with the State Department under Obama as well. She was instrumental in the affairs in Ukraine at that time. We’ve written about Nuland in the past, especially when it relates to Ukraine.
