Assange Headlines To Suck You In

As a fundamental believer in freedom of the press and transparency of our governments, I have long been supportive of the kind-hearted people trying to free Julian Assange.

There are many, many people on board — the call for his exoneration has been far and wide. To me, it seems the main critics and fierce defenders of ‘secrecy’ are those who claim ‘national’ security — that is, those who don’t want their ‘secrets’ to get out. And let’s face it, there are plenty! Human Rights Violations (in particular, war crimes, human trafficking), disregard for world agreements (e.g., to shut down bio- and chemical weapons), drug and weapons trafficking, and of course, political interference!

But in this technological age, word is getting out. We are no longer ‘suckers’ to the mainstream media feed. I admit here, there are plenty of ‘trolls’ eager to disparage divergent views and promote the ‘narrative’, but dig a little deeper and they can’t hold a candle to a lamppost.

Today’s portrayal of Julian Assange’s “presidential pardon” is one such case. ALL the MSM headlines were designed to suck you in:

And the list goes on.

It’s not until you go behind the headlines, that you might get to the truth. Huge thanks to Mike Smith News, who gave a link to an article from BBC today. Whilst the headline was potentially misleading, at least it went into some ‘facts’ — ultimately clarifying that Dana Rohrabacher never did get to speak with President Trump about his proposal (for Assange to prove there was no Russian intervention in the US election), as it was curtailed by White House Chief of Staff, Marine General John Kelly (as both Rohrabacher and Trump admin have agreed).

What’s not so widely known (or perhaps admitted) is that Assange stated publicly, well before this, that there was no Kremlin interference. The ‘deal’ seems to be that Assange ‘prove’ there was no ‘collusion’. With the scope of WikiLeaks, I’m sure this is well possible.

What is more interesting, after you get beyond the fiasco of the Swedish prosecution (dropped) is that of the remaining charges against Assange, the so-called ‘hacking’, NONE relate to the Democratic National Committee (DNC) hack, but rather the Wikileaks publication of ‘100s of 1000s’ of diplomatic cables and files about US campaigns in Afghanistan and Iraq, LEAKED TO WIKILEAKS (Seth Rich).

Surely there are more than a few questions to be asked:

What is the REAL reason for still wanting his extradition? What ultimately happened to the 12 Russian Intelligence officers charged with hacking the emails (who came willingly to testify to NO collusion)?

Perhaps what few people wanting to “bring Assange home” know is that extradition from the UK is more difficult than from Australia.  Is he safer where he is?  Do we want him to be extradited?

And why Belmarsh, a high security prison, for something as innocuous as ‘computer hacking’?

Thanks to mainstream media, it gets harder and harder to believe what’s true, and what’s FAKE news.

We can live in hope that Assange is another ace up Trump’s sleeve – and that he’s not being extradited to ‘damn’ himself and WikiLeaks, but to get to the TRUTH. Wouldn’t THAT be a change??

Felicity, there is information on the internet that the current extradition is to allow Trump and the Patriot’s to receive from Julian directly, the facts that his organisation received those many years ago. This would of course be to the determent of the “Deep State” and the war mongers of the World. And of course, show up once again the lies and cover-ups perpetrated by the MSM.

    US extradition is not a benign arrangement- if there were ANY hope in it, he and his legal team and family would not be trying to prevent it.
    Apart from the fact that the absolutely massive and brutal US prison maze system is the largest private contracted business on the planet, John Kyriakou who experienced the system personally during his own incarceration as CIA whistleblower has very clearly informed and warned that Julian would NEVER get a fair trial in the US.
    JA belongs safely in Australia. He has not been charged with any crime. The ‘charges’ are bogus and being called to be dropped. The whole situation is a farce. Julian Assange has done nothing wrong. He should have been compensated for arbitrary detention. Bring him home now.

    An actual ‘crime’ is committed – the culprits are publicly named and their pictures are splashed all over the propaganda channels. But after two years the best of British intelligence and law enforcement cannot (or don’t want to) actually track them down to arrest them – even though they would have run out of cereal and basic toiletries many months ago.

    Instead, the brilliant justice system locks up the victims in solitary confinement. This can only mean they don’t want the victims to tell their own story – the official narrative being such an impressive one.

    I’ll go way out on a limb here and say I would not be surprised if Assange was freed sometime soon, when a grand distraction is needed for any number of possible reasons.
    Assange has never released info that was not pretty obvious anyway eg ‘Collateral Damage’ video.
    The entire War On Terror (and police state imposition) was enabled by the 2001 World Trade Centre false flag done by The United States Of Israel.
    Millions of people know this, but somehow Assange disagrees? Bullshit, he is part of the act.

      Still he faces 17 charges and possible 175 years prison sentence for Collateral damage video showing the murder of civilians, as if their lives were less than a video game.

      • When this game is driven by intellects the size of Mike Pompeo’s, it is foolish to seek deep conspiracies and hidden agendas. Assange exposed the truth of US war crimes and is thus an embarrassment that must be silenced and punished.

        In my view, he has committed no legally-recognised crime and should be released forthwith, but this position presumes a democratic government and laws that reflect the will of the people. No such states exists in the world today and the only chance of Assange surviving is if protests are regarded as proportionately more damaging. As our media ignores most protest, Assange has little chance of escape.

        What may possibly save Assange is if ordinary Australians pledge to one day seek those culpable in this kidnapping and torture of an innocent Australian and to then campaign for application of treason laws in application of prosecution, including a national vote of return of the death penalty (currently supported by better then an absolute majority).

    Many will be locked up simply on what Assange will present during his ‘arraignment’ at a suitable and safe location within the United States.

    What more secure place than a maximum security prison to safeguard a valuable source of information?

      An interesting aside: I bumped into John Pilger on a Parramatta River ferrycat a year of so ago and struck up a brief convo with him and thanked him for his journalistic service over the years.. Asked him if he thought JA was OK. He said he was very concerned about his safety. I commented that I thought he was fine and probably in protective custody somewhere. He raised an eyebrow and said he doubted it, Just goes to show, we all have our opinions based on what info we have been exposed to, the credibility of that info and our individual motives, agendas and level of understanding..

  21. I have this morning learned of the fate of Philip Haney and I ponder that whenever a person is killed in public, of course by his own hands, there is never any video evidence. What about the Boston bombing, where the Blackwater contractor was not videoed placing his black bag. Yet in most Western countries, we are told, videos are everywhere for our own security. I know that our own council spend a large amount of finance placing cameras each year.

    At times there is also false video evidence, as in the young Muslins entering a train in London for the bombing attack when in fact at that time of the day they were stranded in their cities because of railway mal-function.
