MH17: The Continuing Charade

mh17-01(L) Reconstruction of MH17, (R) European Court of Human Rights

By James O’Neill*

The Sun Herald (Sydney) of 22 May 2016 reported that the Australian families of the MH17 disaster had “served” the European court of Human Rights (ECHR) with a claim seeking compensation of $10 million for each victim.

The report referred to the “proposed respondents” to the claim being the Russian Federation and its President Vladimir Putin.  The solicitor acting for the plaintiffs was quoted in a separate report (1) claiming, “we have facts, photographs, memorandums (sic), tonnes of stuff.”  He also claimed that the claim document ran to “over 3500 pages in length.” [Read more…]

It Has Taken 648 Days To Mention the Ukrainian Fighter Jet

mh17 planesHerald Sun today 26/7/2016

by Dee McLachlan

Why has it taken 648 days for the mainstream media to mention the possibility that a Ukrainian Fighter jet might have shot down MH17 over Ukraine?

The Boeing 777 was downed over Eastern Ukraine on July 17, 2014, killing 298 people. [Read more…]

MH17 Documents Sealed In Perpetuity?

top secret

Perpetuity is a long long time.

Dear Ms Julie Bishop, You signed the secret deal. Could you please explain why it might be necessary to seal any of the MH17 investigation?

We, the people, are meant to have faith in our politicians, who believe they have the right to seal (in perpetuity) some details of a multinational murder investigation. This does not make sense, and it smells of foul play.  Dee McLachlan.

The Political Response to the Dutch Report on MH17

By James O’Neill*

The political and media response to the report of the Dutch Safety Board into the crash of MH17 on 17 July 2014 has been unfortunately predictable.

It is clear from the comments, both in and out of Parliament by the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister respectively, that they have not read any of the 278 page report nor its equally voluminous appendices. [Read more…]

Apportioning Blame For MH17

mh17 headlineHerald Sun headline 14/10/15.

The Australian headlines (and Australian politicians) leave no doubt that President Putin had a hand in the downing of MH17. Australia is not waiting for the criminal findings. And nothing much has changed since I wrote about the “Disgraceful Reporting” in the Australian media on July 19, 2014. [Read more…]

MH17 – Pilot’s Family Allegedly Not Allowed To See His Body

It Might Be Just A Pole – But 60 Minutes Has Lost Its Way

Oh dear, Michael the utility poles don’t seem to match up.

Screen-shot-2015-05-26-at-2.42.46-PM60 Minutes’ stupid pole.

There has been a battle going on between Robert Parry of Consortium News and Australia’s 60 Minutes. Channel 9 sent Michael Usher and his team all the way back to Ukraine to find the wrong utility pole. As Parry says, 60 Minutes did “A Reckless ‘Stand-upper’ on MH-17”.  (Parry’s full article here, and Greg Maybury’s Gumshoe here.)

In the 60 minutes’ rebuttal to Parry’s accusations, Michael Usher declared “proof” with a stupid pole. [Read more…]

MH17 – A Waiting Game Of Deception and Secrets

Below, I have added the RT documentary, “Reflections on MH17” – this to balance the 60 Minutes updated report from Sunday (24/05/15, link here). The documentary starts off in Australia, with interviews from family, experts and many eye witnesses on the ground in the Ukraine. The RTD film is calmly presented and does not follow the drama and theatrics employed by the 60 minutes team.

Propaganda v Impropaganda – MH17, Brand 60 Minutes, & Shell-game Journalism

by Greg Maybury

“A Huge and Embarrassing Mistake?”

The following anecdote may be apocryphal, but either way given the geopolitical zeitgeist the “moral” of the “fable” is a telling one. The story goes that during the 1980s a group of American journalists were hosting a visit to the U.S. of one of their Soviet counterparts. After proudly showing their visitor the “ropes” as to how it all works stateside, most of them expected their guest to express unbridled envy at the professional liberties they enjoyed in the Land of the Free Press. Later, whilst comparing notes about how they respectively went about plying their trade, the Russian scribe was indeed compelled to express his unabashed “admiration” to his hosts – but it was for the “superior quality” of American “propaganda.” [Read more…]

Why the Secrecy on the Mh17 Investigation

On 17 July 2014 Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17 en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur was shot down over the Eastern Ukraine.

Although the precise circumstances were at that point unknown the western media were quick to blame Ukrainian “rebels”.  The means by which MH17 was destroyed, the media alleged, was a surface to air BUK missile supplied to the “rebels” by Russia.  For a host of reasons it was almost certainly not a BUK missile that caused the crash.  The stage was set however, for a demonization of Russia in general as the alleged supplier of the missile, and President Vladimir Putin in particular.  The relentless propaganda enforcing this view has continued unabated to this day, although the evidential foundation for the allegations remains at best remote. Paradoxical Petro Poroshenko’s Parley in Australia

Australia welcomed Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko for his two-day state visit. He was expected to attend a prayer vigil for the victims of the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 crash with Prime Minister Tony Abbott, talk Uranium, financial assistance, embassies and closer ties.

They would have discussed the investigation of the downed plane, but there is still no word in the mainstream media about the secret deal Australia has signed (see below) – and that it has the potential to quash the truth over the incident. [Read more…]
