Editor’s Note: This article has taken extracts from three sources Zerohedge, the ABC, and Kangaroo Court:
Australian federal police officers are raiding the home of News Corp Australia journalist Annika Smethurst over an April, 2018 story accusing the government of radical new espionage powers allowing the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) to monitor citizens for the first time, (according to the Daily Telegraph via the Herald Sun)
Smethurst’s article revealed that the emails, bank accounts and text messages of Australian citizens could be secretly accessed by government spies without a trace under the proposal, as long as the Defense and Home Affairs ministers approved the plan.
Ms Smethurst’s original story included images of top-secret letters between the secretary of Home Affairs, Mike Pezzullo, and his counterpart in Defence, Greg Moriarty, outlining a plan to potentially allow government hackers to “proactively disrupt and covertly remove” onshore cyber threats by “hacking into critical infrastructure.”
Current Australian law prohibits the ASD from spying on citizens – a power left to the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and the Australian Security Intelligence Organization, the country’s domestic spy agency.
The extract from the ABC:
…2GB Radio Presenter Ben Fordham revealed he had been notified by the Department of Home Affairs that he was the subject of a similar investigation, aimed at identifying the source of classified information he had reported regarding intercepted boat arrivals.
And then on Wednesday, the AFP raided the ABC’s Sydney headquarters. This dramatic development was in connection with the 2017 Afghan Files report based on “hundreds of pages of secret Defence Force documents leaked to the ABC”. These documents revealed disturbing allegations of misconduct by Australian special forces.
The extract from the article from Kangaroo Court:
…The old Australian media have gone berserk saying they need to be protected and need the public’s help etc but a lot of people on social media aren’t buying the media’s complaining as they see them as doing nothing more than crying wolf.
The reality is the old media, who are meant to be the watchdog keeping governments to account, only have themselves to blame for failing to defend other journalists and whistleblowers. If you are a journalist and not in the old media club then you are dispensable as far as the likes of News Corp and the ABC etc are concerned. But it is worth noting what the former editor of the UK’s The Guardian newspaper Alan Rusbridger said recently in relation to Julian Assange:
“Assange is a problematic figure in many ways. But the attempt to lock him up under the Espionage Act is a deeply troubling move that should serve as a wake-up call to all journalists. You may not like Assange, but you’re next.” (Click here to read more)
The same thing is happening here in Australia. How do I know? Because over the last 2 years I have been jailed twice for 4 months for standing up for my journalistic rights, I have been raided by the police for no justifiable reason and I have had another harassing police visit again for no justifiable reason. The first jail sentence was for breaching suppression orders in a defamation matter that to this day has still not been justified and the second jail sentence was for what I said in court and also in part for breaching suppression orders that were also never justified and that were ultimately lifted.
So when the media start saying they are worried that journalists in Australia might start getting jailed they deliberately refuse to acknowledge that it is already happening and in my case, it was a media company, Seven West Media, who paid to have me charged with contempt of court for breaching suppression orders. What makes it worse is that a Nine Entertainment editor, SMH’s Lisa Daves, was a cheerleader for my jailing by writing an article arguing why I should be jailed. As it turns out the old karma bus has caught up with Lisa Davies and she has been charged with criminal contempt for breaching suppression orders in the George Pell matter.

The Australian media remind me of a ding-bat that marries a thug. She can rationalize all of his behavior – “He may steal, but he’d never steal from me. He can be violent, but he’d never hit me.”
Then one day the ding-bat shows up with a black-eye and a story about walking into a door.
Terry, it would be fun if it were the thug who came in with a black eye.
Dee, the likely explanation for the raid is that it’s a publicity stunt, like the arrest of Dr Russell Pridgeon. He is a genuine whistle blower and so his arrest is an inexpensive way of warning all whistle blowers “We do not stop at prestigious people; we get everybody.”
But the raid you describe, purportedly a raid on the ABC, is no doubt a partner activity between gov’t and ABC. They are so deeply in bed with each other that there would be no need for one to warn the other.
Surely Shane Dowling is right to point out that if there were anything but crocodile tears on the part of media, they would have hyped his imprisonment story.
My advice, Everybody, don’t worry. If this is all the ammo they have, things aren’t too bad.
Still, I imagine Dr Pridgeon does not like wearing an ankle bracelet all day for a year. He ought to sue them. He was never a flight risk, almost the opposite: the gov’t is at risk of having him stick around indefinitely, gracing Oz with his integrity.
What we all need to acknowledge is that most Australians regard journalists per se as unscruplous opportunists who write whatever will further their grubby careers. In my opinion, ABC journalists stand taller among their peers because they also have the ability to lie and distort news whilst appearing ernest, genuine and fairly dripping with integrity.
At the other end of the spectrum are the dribbling ignoramouses who posture as shining knights and even make it to the Senate. This tells us that the dumbing down of the national electorate by terachers, lecturers and journalists has been startlingly successful.
Now, backtrack half a century to those distant times when some journalists actually justified ‘freedom of the press’. And not forgetting the brave editors who embraced that adage with every fibre of their being… both of them… Max Walsh of Newsweek-Bulletin and Jim Bowditch of the NT News (until Rupert Murdoch and complicit police and CLP politicians fruadulently forced his resignation).
Today, I know of no genuine journalists, howevermuch they might pose when it suits them. The exposers of truth today are whistleblowers, not just Assange and Snowdon, but the thousands of citizens who expose the saturation corruption destroying this nation.
Those who cruicify whistleblowers deserve a traitors death. I just hope I am around to see this happen.
Tony, Tony, you will be around. Traitor’s hangings are just around the bend.
On Oct 7, 2014 (where does the time go?) I wrote a Gumsho earticle spelling out how to do it. It’s not the least bit illegal. Here is the black-letter law. It’s in the Commonwealth’s Criminal Code, Part 5.1, division 80:
“(1) A person commits an offence, called treason, if the person:
(a) causes the death of the Sovereign, the heir apparent of the Sovereign, the consort of the Sovereign…[Liz, Chuck, and Phil, for the time being] or
(d) levies war, or does any act preparatory to levying war, against the Commonwealth; or
(e) engages in conduct that assists by any means whatever, with intent to assist, an enemy: (i) at war with the Commonwealth…or (f) …to assist: (i) another country; or (ii) an organization … engaged in armed hostilities against the Australian Defence Force….
I’d go for # D. Vax is “levying war, so is 5G, so is stealing chillums from their Mum or Dad.
Hey Tony, whatcha waitin’ for? Write to the DPP. Or start a grand jury.
The comments at kangaroocourtofaustralia are worthy of note.
The Federal police Commissioner has stated today that the police have a duty to investigate breaches of the law. Fancy that! What about war crimes?
As for the whinging ABC, as has been stated; ‘KARMA’…….could not have happened to a better lot of our one billion per year hypocrites.
Just one example of its hypocrisy in failing to educate Australia:
This NEOCON; ‘the plan’ was planned before the ‘false flag 911 mass murders’.
The ABC has not broadcast it to my knowledge, despite many referrals to it. If the ABC had exposed it from March 2007, then the ABC might not now be demonstrated as deceitful hypocrites and be in this pickle and we may have been out of the Middle East from 2007, by force of public opinion on our warmongering politicians.
Since 2007 at what election has our involvement in the Middles East been a political issue,…………….right; same sex marriage, windmills and rainbows have been at the forefront, whilst we have been involved in killing millions, causing a influx of refugees and wasted our budget with debt, borrowing money from bankers with interest.
SELL THE ABC: It is crook and helped in supporting the murder of millions since 2001……..Whimpering B…….s!!
What the hell have our ALLEGED journalists been smoking over the years ??? A short while back, legislation was proposed and then passed to give the power to ASIO and the ASD the power to do this. Where were the journalists when this was announced ?????????? In today’s World, with the propensity for ANYONE to bug your phone calls, emails or access your P.C. without your knowledge, there’s really no excuse whatever, for folks to get their noses out of joint when they discover they have been targeted. As we all KNOW, we can at any time be such a target ourselves, so why make it easy on these Government Authorities by placing compromising information on electronic devices that they can take from you and examine in the first place ?
Clearly, people need to become more security alert, and store their information in a much more secure manner.

Well, that was a late alternative to the Rogue’s scholarship.
Part of History. I turned up at Johnnies office in Chifley square when he was firstly elected and requested a job. At the time I was a Liberal flunkey.
He said, in what position. I advised that Whitlam has provided for research assistants, or something similar.
Oh: he had no idea that such positions were available.
Nice to be one of the first advisors to the future PM. Pity he did not have me employed!!
Thanks Arlyn
The 2 party preferred gangsters are not Australians, never were, they are all international criminals who work for foreign powers and international criminal corporate cartels and they even have Ozzie accents and mannerisms. The courts, from the family courts to the Supreme courts are also international criminals and they are not elected by the people at all but are appointed by some secret never spoken of process that is hidden away in politcal gibberish. and as for democracy, well I’ve read some of the works of Plato who founded democracy and found that the people get only 10% of the say in things if they’re lucky. It’ll take more than Donald Trump to drain the Australian swamp.

Historically the AFP and ASIO have a nefarious and sinister background and are not to be trusted in the Sydney Hilton bombing and the Port Arthur Massacre, MH17/370 and the Bali bombing to name a few of the high profile incidents. There needs to be thorough investigation into both organisations that have used state-sponsored terrorism on several occasions against its citizens of murder, terrorism, abuse of power, corruption, lying, using false accusations in short criminality against Australian citizens and not honouring their oath.
The illegal, corrupt and criminal government are illegitimate and masquerading as the legitimate government when it has been infiltrated and taken over administratively. It is a de facto government that has usurped power and authority from its rightful place by sedition High Treason and treachery.
Why Australia needs a Royal Commission into the AFP
http://blakandblack.com/2012/03/24/why-australia-needs-a-royal-commission-into-the-afp/
The reason I bring this post up again is that the following Facebook comment was left on this post by a former AFP officer, Mike Barclay:
Hi, Sorry to but in on your discussion… I used to work for the AFP and some guys I worked with told me to make a false statement and make false entries in my diary and day book. And lie in court!
I have shown this comment together with the details of the person who made it to a Sydney based barrister who provides assistance to Blak and Black on an ad hoc basis. Inquiries conducted by both Blak and Black and its legal representatives into the bona fides of the person who left this comment indicate that they are indeed a former AFP officer, who is currently been given the proverbial ‘run around’ by Australia’s law enforcement bureaucracy.
If AFP officers are prepared to perjure themselves on a regular basis in lieu of doing proper police work, where does this leave the average citizen who unwittingly becomes a pawn in this type of systemic corruption? More importantly, where does this leave the average citizen when the two bodies tasked with investigating allegations of corruption in the AFP (ACLEI and the Commonwealth Ombudsman) routinely refuse to conduct proper inquiries, because the outcomes might be ‘politically damaging’?
The issues of corruption in the AFP don’t stop here. The Global Corruption Report 2003 prepared by Peter Eigen, Chairman, Transparency International made the following observations:
Bias and distortion in criminal justice, governmental accountability and regulation are also in evidence in Australia.
Experts say that one of the reasons why police corruption is so widespread is an inherent ‘police culture’ that encourages unsavoury behaviour.
Abuse of power at the federal level in Australia is motivated less by financial gain than political advantage, a tendency encouraged by a politicised public service in which departmental secretaries are subject to dismissal without notice.
If open government were measured in terms of freedom of information (“FOI”) legislation or judicial review laws, Australia would be judged as open and accountable… Nevertheless, a delay in responding to FOI requests challenges that openness in practice.
What has changed in the AFP since Peter Eigen made these scathing observations? In short, the answer is nothing. As Peter Eigen observed, a delay in responding to FOI requests challenges that openness in practice. It’s these delays, combined with an ongoing process of watering down the FOI provisions, that is helping facilitate the systemic racism and corruption that defines today’s AFP. Indeed, the aforementioned AFP officer who left a comment on Blak and Black’s post Corruption and accountability: the AFP in the Asia/Pacific region went on to say that:
I have just obtained FOI docs and most of the good stuff was excluded…
If openness and transparency hinges on access to information, which it most certainly does, denying access to this information can serve no other purpose than shielding those accused of racism, corruption and incompetence.

For the record I do not like Shane Dowling.
However, there have been may efforts to direct and counsel his talent beyond his ego which do not appear in his comments record.
So for the record, I submitted this tonight for him to consider.
” Shane (just censor this and fight alone, you seem to want to be alone in your own parade)
With all respect you have been a loose cannon ….. spraying shot all over the place but to(o) proud to expand and provide genuine evidence of your allegations..( as for paedophile allegations for example)
However, there are people trying to assist you in the same battle, that you appear to despise/ignore.
Well, here is a link to gumshoenews.com and therein a reference to your article.
Ok, ignore it and promote your own ego. But you are not the only flag bearer.
A screen shot is being taken of this comment with, if necessary, a referral to GS news.”

I have been looking for this for years….Finally dropped into my lap. 🙂
Jacinda Ardern’s father is apparently a Freemason, is that a reason she can getaway with ruling over the New Zealand shooting HOAX as conclusively shown on timetounite.com ??
