The other day I saw a fat girl age about 40 getting lifted out of a van by a crane because she had her feet amputated, nearly up to the knee. Probably diabetic from too much white bread and sugar drinks. A great win for our medical system, this unit will require government funded over-servicing for decades. They are being produced as fast as possible by the TV, supermarkets and junk food manufacturers. Eventually the money will run out and they will all have to be bulldozed into a pit, it’s starting to happen already.

Last year I had two brief stays in two private hospitals as a consequence of gross medical negligence( I won’t bore you with the details – suffice to say that, even before the mass staff walk-out per the vax edict, the public system was a complete write-off)
The quality of the food wasn’t a problem but after I was discharged I wound up putting most of the post-op meds in the bin.
I was also struck by the fact that:
* none of the staff seemed to have any idea about the benefits of pre & post-op fasting.
* some of them tried to convince me of having non-existent health issues
I was also somewhat surprised to see a booze trolley being wheeled around; patients were apparently able to order a Jack Daniels in a surgical ward, i. e. a ward where heavy duty pain-relief drugs are the norm

Interestingly, when I saw this I went to see what the Douay-Rhiems translation of St Jerome’s Vulgate said in Genesis 11. Almost curiously, the D-R translation concurred with the Mazoretic text even though the Vulgate was translated from the Septuagint with reference to every other text available a good 500 years before even there was a Mazoretic text.
Now, I already knew that the Vulgate wasn’t published as a single book but it was in bits that were passed around and copied; and there was some controversy for a few hundred years about which copies were fair and genuine. Perhaps the version that D-R was translated from had been “updated” to concur with “modern Biblical scholarship” in the C15.
Anyhow, it’s blardy interesting.
