An A-to-Z primer of the Police State

A is for the AMERICAN POLICE STATE. A police state “is characterized by bureaucracy, secrecy, perpetual wars, a nation of suspects, militarization, surveillance, widespread police presence, and a citizenry with little recourse against police actions.”

B is for our battered BILL OF RIGHTS. In the cop culture that is America today, where you can be kicked, punched, tasered, shot, intimidated, harassed, stripped, searched, brutalized, terrorized, wrongfully arrested, and even killed by a police officer, and that officer is rarely held accountable for violating your rights, the Bill of Rights doesn’t amount to much.

C is for CIVIL ASSET FORFEITURE. This governmental scheme to deprive Americans of their liberties—namely, the right to property—is being carried out under the guise of civil asset forfeiture, a government practice wherein government agents (usually the police) seize private property they “suspect” may be connected to criminal activity. Then, whether or not any crime is actually proven to have taken place, the government keeps the citizen’s property.

D is for DRONES. It is estimated that at least 30,000 drones will be airborne in American airspace by 2020, part of an $80 billion industry. Although some drones will be used for benevolent purposes, many will also be equipped with lasers, tasers and scanning devices, among other weapons—all aimed at “we the people.”

E is for ELECTRONIC CONCENTRATION CAMP. In the electronic concentration camp, as I have dubbed the surveillance state, all aspects of a person’s life are policed by government agents and all citizens are suspects, their activities monitored and regulated, their movements tracked, their communications spied upon, and their lives, liberties and pursuit of happiness dependent on the government’s say-so.

F is for FASCISM. A study conducted by Princeton and Northwestern University concluded that the U.S. government does not represent the majority of American citizens. Instead, the study found that the government is ruled by the rich and powerful, or the so-called “economic elite.” Moreover, the researchers concluded that policies enacted by this governmental elite nearly always favor special interests and lobbying groups. In other words, we are being ruled by an oligarchy disguised as a democracy, and arguably on our way towards fascism—a form of government where private corporate interests rule, money calls the shots, and the people are seen as mere economic units.

G is for GRENADE LAUNCHERS and GLOBAL POLICE. The federal government has distributed more than $18 billion worth of battlefield-appropriate military weapons, vehicles and equipment such as drones, tanks, and grenade launchers to domestic police departments across the country. As a result, most small-town police forces now have enough firepower to render any citizen resistance futile. Now take those small-town police forces, train them to look and act like the military, and then enlist them to be part of the United Nations’ Strong Cities Network program, and you not only have a standing army that operates beyond the reach of the Constitution but one that is part of a global police force.

H is for HOLLOW-POINT BULLETS. The government’s efforts to militarize and weaponize its agencies and employees is reaching epic proportions, with federal agencies as varied as the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration stockpiling millions of lethal hollow-point bullets, which violate international law. Ironically, while the government continues to push for stricter gun laws for the general populace, the U.S. military’s arsenal of weapons makes the average American’s handgun look like a Tinker Toy.

I is for the INTERNET OF THINGS, in which internet-connected “things” will monitor your home, your health and your habits in order to keep your pantry stocked, your utilities regulated and your life under control and relatively worry-free. The key word here, however, is control. This “connected” industry propels us closer to a future where police agencies apprehend virtually anyone if the government “thinks” they may commit a crime, driverless cars populate the highways, and a person’s biometrics are constantly scanned and used to track their movements, target them for advertising, and keep them under perpetual surveillance.

J is for JAILING FOR PROFIT. Having outsourced their inmate population to private prisons run by private corporations, this profit-driven form of mass punishment has given rise to a $70 billion private prison industry that relies on the complicity of state governments to keep their privately run prisons full by jailing large numbers of Americans for inane crimes.

K is for KENTUCKY V. KING. In an 8-1 ruling, the Supreme Court ruled that police officers can break into homes, without a warrant, even if it’s the wrong home as long as they think they have a reason to do so. Despite the fact that the police in question ended up pursuing the wrong suspect, invaded the wrong apartment and violated just about every tenet that stands between us and a police state, the Court sanctioned the warrantless raid, leaving Americans with little real protection in the face of all manner of abuses by law enforcement officials.

L is for LICENSE PLATE READERS, which enable law enforcement and private agencies to track the whereabouts of vehicles, and their occupants, all across the country. This data collected on tens of thousands of innocent people is also being shared between police agencies, as well as with fusion centers and private companies. This puts Big Brother in the driver’s seat.

M is for MAIN CORE. Since the 1980s, the U.S. government has acquired and maintained, without warrant or court order, a database of names and information on Americans considered to be threats to the nation. As Salon reports, this database, reportedly dubbed “Main Core,” is to be used by the Army and FEMA in times of national emergency or under martial law to locate and round up Americans seen as threats to national security. As of 2008, there were some 8 million Americans in the Main Core database.

N is for NO-KNOCK RAIDS. Owing to the militarization of the nation’s police forces, SWAT teams are now increasingly being deployed for routine police matters. In fact, more than 80,000 of these paramilitary raids are carried out every year. That translates to more than 200 SWAT team raids every day in which police crash through doors, damage private property, terrorize adults and children alike, kill family pets, assault or shoot anyone that is perceived as threatening—and all in the pursuit of someone merely suspected of a crime, usually possession of some small amount of drugs.

O is for OVERCRIMINALIZATION and OVERREGULATION. Thanks to an overabundance of 4500-plus federal crimes and 400,000 plus rules and regulations, it’s estimated that the average American actually commits three felonies a day without knowing it. As a result of this overcriminalization, we’re seeing an uptick in Americans being arrested and jailed for such absurd “violations” as letting their kids play at a park unsupervised, collecting rainwater and snow runoff on their own property, growing vegetables in their yard, and holding Bible studies in their living room.

P is for PATHOCRACY and PRECRIME. When our own government treats us as things to be manipulated, maneuvered, mined for data, manhandled by police, mistreated, and then jailed in profit-driven private prisons if we dare step out of line, we are no longer operating under a constitutional republic. Instead, what we are experiencing is a pathocracy: tyranny at the hands of a psychopathic government, which “operates against the interests of its own people except for favoring certain groups.” Couple that with the government’s burgeoning precrime programs, which will use fusion centers, data collection agencies, behavioral scientists, corporations, social media, and community organizers and by relying on cutting-edge technology for surveillance, facial recognition, predictive policing, biometrics, and behavioral epigenetics in order to identify and deter so-called potential “extremists,” dissidents or rabble-rousers. Bear in mind that anyone seen as opposing the government—whether they’re Left, Right or somewhere in between—is now viewed as an extremist.

Q is for QUALIFIED IMMUNITY. Qualified immunity allows officers to walk away without paying a dime for their wrongdoing. Conveniently, those deciding whether a police officer should be immune from having to personally pay for misbehavior on the job all belong to the same system, all cronies with a vested interest in protecting the police and their infamous code of silence: city and county attorneys, police commissioners, city councils and judges.

R is for ROADSIDE STRIP SEARCHES and BLOOD DRAWS. The courts have increasingly erred on the side of giving government officials—especially the police—vast discretion in carrying out strip searches, blood draws and even anal probes for a broad range of violations, no matter how minor the offense. In the past, strip searches were resorted to only in exceptional circumstances where police were confident that a serious crime was in progress. In recent years, however, strip searches have become routine operating procedures in which everyone is rendered a suspect and, as such, is subjected to treatment once reserved for only the most serious of criminals.

S is for the SURVEILLANCE STATE. On any given day, the average American going about his daily business will be monitored, surveilled, spied on and tracked in more than 20 different ways, by both government and corporate eyes and ears. A byproduct of this new age in which we live, whether you’re walking through a store, driving your car, checking email, or talking to friends and family on the phone, you can be sure that some government agency, whether the NSA or some other entity, is listening in and tracking your behavior. This doesn’t even begin to touch on the corporate trackers that monitor your purchases, web browsing, Facebook posts and other activities taking place in the cyber sphere.

T is for TASERS. Nonlethal weapons such as tasers, stun guns, rubber pellets and the like have been used by police as weapons of compliance more often and with less restraint—even against women and children—and in some instances, even causing death. These “nonlethal” weapons also enable police to aggress with the push of a button, making the potential for overblown confrontations over minor incidents that much more likely. A Taser Shockwave, for instance, can electrocute a crowd of people at the touch of a button.

U is for UNARMED CITIZENS SHOT BY POLICE. No longer is it unusual to hear about incidents in which police shoot unarmed individuals first and ask questions later, often attributed to a fear for their safety. Yet the fatality rate of on-duty patrol officers is reportedly far lower than many other professions, including construction, logging, fishing, truck driving, and even trash collection.

V is for VIPR SQUADS. So-called “soft target” security inspections, carried out by roving VIPR task forces, comprised of federal air marshals, surface transportation security inspectors, transportation security officers, behavior detection officers and explosive detection canine teams, are taking place whenever and wherever the government deems appropriate, at random times and places, and without needing the justification of a particular threat.

W is for WHOLE-BODY SCANNERS. Using either x-ray radiation or radio waves, scanning devices and government mobile units are being used not only to “see” through your clothes but to spy on you within the privacy of your home. While these mobile scanners are being sold to the American public as necessary security and safety measures, we can ill afford to forget that such systems are rife with the potential for abuse, not only by government bureaucrats but by the technicians employed to operate them. X is for X-KEYSCORE, one of the many spying programs carried out by the National Security Agency that targets every person in the United States who uses a computer or phone. This top-secret program “allows analysts to search with no prior authorization through vast databases containing emails, online chats and the browsing histories of millions of individuals.”

Y is for YOU-NESS. Using your face, mannerisms, social media and “you-ness” against you, you can now be tracked based on what you buy, where you go, what you do in public, and how you do what you do. Facial recognition software promises to create a society in which every individual who steps out into public is tracked and recorded as they go about their daily business. The goal is for government agents to be able to scan a crowd of people and instantaneously identify all of the individuals present. Facial recognition programs are being rolled out in states all across the country.

Z is for ZERO TOLERANCE. We have moved into a new paradigm in which young people are increasingly viewed as suspects and treated as criminals by school officials and law enforcement alike, often for engaging in little more than childish behavior. In some jurisdictions, students have also been penalized under school zero-tolerance policies for such inane “crimes” as carrying cough drops, wearing black lipstick, bringing nail clippers to school, using Listerine or Scope, and carrying fold-out combs that resemble switchblades. The lesson being taught to our youngest—and most impressionable—citizens is this: in the American police state, you’re either a prisoner (shackled, controlled, monitored, ordered about, limited in what you can do and say, your life not your own) or a prison bureaucrat (politician, police officer, judge, jailer, spy, profiteer, etc.).

    • Official Report (so far): Actor and filmmaker, David Crowley (29), suffered from PTSD and killed his wife and 5 year old daughter, then himself in a murder suicide. But The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office stated that the deaths appeared “suspicious”.

      The filmmaker David Crowley and his wife suicided? His wife was hearing voices at one time. Since I spoke to Barrie Trower this year, I learned how EMF targeting with specific frequencies can cause aggression, depression etc (suicide).

    One morning we were briefed that we have to do some PR shots with the media, which included the use of ADF [Australian Defense Forces] personnel in order to solidify that any sort of non compliance from Melburnians will not be met by one force but rather two.

    We had to stage our steps with the ADF and give enough time for the photographers to take their hero shots.

    What’s annoying is that since we’re on the job we had go to another location quickly to attend to a matter where the ADF guys have done their job, and we must part our ways, contrary to the image given before.

    In another briefing we were told that we must go out and fine as many people for not wearing masks as possible, as this will be beneficial for our pay rises, and also prop up the stats.

    This really pissed me off so no fines were given out.

    I joined the force to do good for the community and not be some sort of government private security contractor.

    This is not what I signed up for.

    • After viewing the above documentary, here is a video by Dr. Buttar on alleged leaked plans for the Canadians. If the plan is real, then since this is a Global takeover, I would expect similar plans for the rest of the world.

      • MSM is now trying to scare us with short covid-19™ and long covid-19™, they are going to push this hoax with all the power of their controlled presstitute media, apparently until they are ready to go with covid-21™, which we hear about with a definitive timeline, all the other stuff like property confiscation and even vaccine and vaccine passport, the timeline is flexible so may take longer. It will all be done as much as possible by soft power and brainwashing.         Anyone wanting to protect themselves from sickness look up “nutrient density” and you will find all sorts of charts but be advised watercress is #1 and if the charts say other things are #1 for example kale, quinoa, turmeric, all the marketing stuff, they aren’t true.

        • “until they are ready to go with covid-21™” – When I heard the mention of Covid -21, it made sense. Another strain, which means another vaccination. I thought the Deagle reports of reduced population by 2025 were a bit over the top. However, with the collapse of the food chain, collapse of food production and the use of the vaccines, yep, they may be able to do the mass depopulation.

          If they really do intend to restructure the human population in 2030 with eugenics. They will start with a reduced population that is likely broken in health and willing to comply with anything.

    • when i researched the label of the unpronounceable, it seemed most of the root ingredients were mining waste products that the companies have to pay to throw away, aluminum and lithium were near the top. we are being used as bio-filters for toxic waste, which also makes good preservatives apparently

    Investors are happy as the value of their IT stocks rockets upwards.
    Mr. Bill Gates is happy that he may get his 7 billion children inoculated.
    Politicians are happy to see the sheeple believe in state truths.
    Young people are happy that they will never need to work.
    Huxley is happy that the he predicted correctly the future.

    Everybody is happy except for a few oldies who keep talking about democracy, human rights and the virtue of work. These oldies are apparently stuck in the ideology of the 20th century. But they will get used to the new great digital paradise prepared by the World Economic Forum, the IMF and Blackrock.

    others have suspected that the perpetrators of all this would stop at

    Dear friends, it is time.

    The researchers at CERN have announced that they will make contact with
    a parallel universe within a few days.

    This was reported a few days ago by the renowned science magazine
    Science . For this purpose, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is driven
    momentarily with an unimaginably large amount of energy; the energy
    amount is supposed to correspond to the conditions under which the
    generally accepted theory, our own universe was created.

    Stephen Hawking and a number of other high-ranking scientists have
    repeatedly warned strongly against this Experiment. In their
    presentation, the authors of the Science article describe that in this
    Experiment, gravity and with it matter are to be shifted from ours into
    a new parallel universe by the micro-black holes that arise. “It is even
    probable that gravity will be “transferred” from our own universe to
    this new parallel universe.”according to Science, the researchers at the
    LHC say literally. This would be tantamount to trying to upload our
    existing universe into a new universe. In an earlier experiment by CERN,
    in which the LHC was ramped up with a lower amount of energy in 2016, a
    plane with 170 people on board, which was approaching the city of Santa
    Cruz in Bolivia, disappeared from Radar, only to reappear a short time
    later in Santa Cruz on the island of Tenerife. Due to the high power
    with which the LHC was launched, a time loop was sent around the planet
    and at the same time caused power outages that affected millions of
    people. As a result, the LHC was immediately shut down. In my opinion,
    the timing of the Experiment now announced is not chosen at random in
    light of the events on this planet. Anyone who knows about the recent
    restrictions and has noticed what is currently happening on the other
    side of the Atlantic can easily imagine what is actually being attempted
    here. As I explain in detail in my online seminar NOW 2020, the timing
    is anything but a coincidence. Clearly, what is now to be done with the
    natural development of mankind is to be prevented. Humanity, however,
    has the course of further events in its own hands. It will be determined
    by those who can look behind the scenes with clear minds and open eyes
    and see what is deception and what is truth. We have-individually and
    collectively-the ability to influence the reality in which we live, to
    change it and to create a new reality. We just have to do it. According
    to the complex theory of relativity, so-called essence electrons are

    • Just on the possibility people aren’t aware of it. Seems on the occasion of the first start up of Cern, It apparently pulled so power from the electrical grid that it left Geneva with practically nothing. This forced them to build a Tesla Dome. You can see it on Google Earth .Pro. It’s a tan colour because it’s made of timber, due to the extra high electrical voltage involved. It’s how Tesla was going to provide the public with free power until JP Morgan put the kybosh on it. Kevin Woodman.

    • Arlyn, some readers might dismiss your description of the U.S government as hyperbole.

      But they would do well to keep an open mind and actually investigate the issue for themselves. They’ll soon determine that overwhelming evidence exists to support your claim that the the U.S government is (and has been for many decades), a massive criminal enterprise.

      Which brings to mind this pearl of wisdom :

          • Fish, I neglected to post a response to your passage above when I first read it the other day.

            It certainly resonated with me because I’ve spent the last 15 years or so ‘unlearning’ a lot of what I’d read before. eg: the lies of WWI and II history.

            Like a lot of people, in my misspent youth I did not possess the ‘faculty of distinguishing between what is useful and useless in a book’.

            I like to think that I’ve fine tuned it in recent years and now spend some time on establishing the bona fides of my sources and looking into their bio’s before putting too much emphasis on their output.

            This I am unable to do for the likes of Zio-Dave of the X22 Report.
            I literally know nothing about his history – no last name, he won’t show his face (lest people from the past identify him as a Mossad operative / long term CIA minion / George Soros confidante ?), or whatever.

          It contains an appraisal of Trump’s first term by someone who’s well and truly right of centre, who’s never had a positive word to say about Biden.

        Now be aware, it’s very taxing to listen to Zio-Dave for extended periods and I tested the limits of human endurance to listen up to the 24 min mark or thereabouts – I then had to reach for an oxygen mask as I was experiencing advanced hxpoxia.

        Early on, Zio-Dave speaks about Hunter Biden’s lap top and ‘the pictures’.
        Have you seen any ‘pictures’ Ned ?

        Gumshoe readers, have you seen any ‘pictures’ which are allegedly on his lap top where H.B engages in bestiality or whatever he’s accused of ?

        Now, I’m not here to defend Hunter Biden (HB) or his old man. The sooner they’re swinging from the gallows the better.

        But pleeeease, stop the TALK about the ‘pictures’ and start releasing the eff’n things.

        Zio-Dave (ZD) mouths more platitudes like ‘they were afraid of the truth coming out because it implicates a lot more than people can imagine’.

        Well ZD, stop TELLING me what I can imagine and SHOW the appropriate independent and honest entities the actual images / emails and let them decide if said images are authentic.

        As with all X22 Reports, ZD incorporates some snippets of truth. He trots out Adam Schiff (again) and mentions how he’s a shonk (granted – we all acknowledge that), and seeing as how Schiff is always trying to discredit Trump with the bogus Russiagate etc, then clearly seeing as Trump is on the ‘opposing side’, then the implication is that Trump must be a white hat.

        Actually …. NO.

        All it means is that Trump is controlled opposition and that ALL of this is just elaborate theatre dressed up as a fight to save the Republic and preserve liberty.

        (A good analogy is professional wrestling. We’re told that one side is the bad guy and the other one is squeaky clean good guy. But it is all theatre – and the actors are performing a choreographed dance).

  31. Living in regional Victoria, I have been able to travel ‘freely’ to other country areas recently. The roads are virtually empty, making driving a dream. At times I am reminded of the film, On The Beach, and imagine my wife and I as Ava Gardner and Gregory Peck.
    It is a bit disturbing though, driving past high tech camera cars that know everything about you within 10 seconds, and being asked for your name and address, then ID to get a coffee and cake in a beautiful little tourist town like Yackandandah.

    • Driving from Melbourne to regional VIC a couple of weeks ago for the purpose of caring for an ageing parent. Got accosted in Coldstream, An ADF person demanded to see the drivers licence. After handing it over and then seeing the ADF take a photo of the licence on their mobile phone we are wondering WTF, AFAIK, ADF don’t have the authority to demand this, let alone capture it on a mobile phone photo.

      After stewing, we rehearsed what the next conversation would look like.This is how it panned out yesterday.

      Come to a halt. Don’t open your window.
      When the ADF seems adamant, open it a bit and warn them that they are not 1.5 meters away
      When they respond that you need to wear a mask, just refuse, as you are in your own car
      When asked the same questions about who are you, where are you going and why, tell them
      When asked for the drivers licence, response is “We have already done this before” and indicate they we really don’t need to do this again.
      ADF person (estimated at about 18yo) said “Yeah I agree with you” and sent us on our way.

      More people need to exercise some courage about this. (Courage=Being Afraid and doing it anyway)

  35. Sitting around last night, sipping my vodka and having a bit of reflection, I remember the concern around 20 years ago about ‘Peak Oil’. Liquid energy runs the world and we were running out, the end of cheap oil was in sight.

    In 2005 the world did hit peak production of conventional oil, meanwhile the population continued to increase. Things were not looking very healthy for the human race.

    Then various other technologies were developed to extend the production of liquid energy. The worst being ‘fracking’, but deep water drilling wasn’t much better. So the party was able to continue – now we are at a point in human history of making the big shift.

    It appears the PTB have decided that they will control the collapse. The collapse in the cheap energy economies had to come, the decrease in population had to come, might as well make it as controlled as possible.

    It was very clever the way they structured it, I’ll give them credit for that. Timing the shift and depopulation to begin with the GSM, using the ‘Global Warming hoax’ to distract the masses so they wouldn’t prepare. Using a hoax pandemic to bring down the food chain, curtail travel and establish an authoritarian rule.

    I knew the old cheap energy systems would eventually collapse, however, I never envisioned that it would take this form.

    But can the predictions be relied on? Or were they contrived by anti-AGW people. I don’t know.

It is liquid energy that allows vehicles, like your car, aircraft, farm equipment, buses, road trains, etc. to continue to move. Decrease the liquid energy available and the systems reliant upon that energy decrease their ability to function.

    I ask readers to spend some time putting Q and the x22 reports in context and note that Q first came to notice in October 2017.
    Todays x22 report spend considerable time on Hunter Bidens lap top content and joins the Biden/DC criminal dots with extensive listing of names and how they connect.
    So to be able to objectively assess the x22 report please listen to episode 2039B on 22.10.2020.
    There is a reference to T referring to the next three days; ‘boom boom boom’.
    So to get with pending developments please listen to the report, particularly the second half.
    I would link it if I had the present capacity. Noe that the x22 report has been pulled from many avenues, think why?

    There are other sites reportin on Q with varying genuine interpretations. (Or a fellow traveller might put it up fo us)
    Enjoy, be objective however the Q record with cryptic hints since 2017 are just too good to be coincidences. I suspect serious military intelligence is running the Q show.
    As Dave often exclaims; ‘they have it all’. That is certainly likely in my opinion.

  39. Ned, I hear you and yes of course, my analysis of the X22 Report the other day was well and truly subjective so readers can make of it what they will.

    Meanwhile, I read today an interesting article titled ‘It’s All Over But the Crying’ by the prolific writer Donald Jeffries.

    Ned, and some of the other GS readers, may find some of the following interesting (extracted from said article above), especially as it pertains to Hunter Biden’s damning emails and videotapes – as well as a prognosis of what’s in store for America for either a Trump or Biden victory :

His tweets and rallies continue to excite his supporters, but ultimately he does what he is ordered to do, like everyone else in power does.     If Biden wins, at best the “virus” will magically disappear and things will return to the sad “normal” state of corruption and incompetence that existed prior to 2020. At worst, the “woke” Left will ratchet up the virtue signaling to a fever pitch. Maybe they’ll make it a literal crime to be White.

    Now we are hearing about damning emails and videotapes of Joe Biden’s son Hunter, which may include him consorting with underage girls. Of course, we’re not hearing about that from our state-controlled media, which is doing everything it can to prevent their release.

    If history holds true, then WE’LL NEVER SEE any tapes of Hunter with underage girls. After all, we’re still waiting for those tapes of U.S. soldiers raping Iraqi boys in front of their mothers, which Seymour Hersh claimed existed several years ago. Those kinds of things would probably rattle the senses of even modern-day American sheeple.

    We have to face the facts. It’s over. We lost. Raise that white flag. Come out with your hands up. The fat lady has sung. Choose your favourite analogy. The corrupt and incompetent forces always win, when the game is rigged against disclosure, honesty, fairness, and common sense.

    Benjamin Franklin famously explained that the Founders had created “a republic, if you can keep it.”

    It should be CLEAR now that we just weren’t able to keep it.”

    Ned, you’ll notice how I put the words ‘We’ll Never See’ in upper case above because, if the Hunter Biden tapes really are likely to destabilise Ol’Joe’s prospects then you can be pretty sure they will never see the light of day (just like the JFK files that Trump promised to release unredacted in 2017 will never see the light of day – no matter who the POTUS is).

    Lastly, I agree with this writer that yes, America is done for and that they (sorry to say this Mary), did blow the golden opportunity they were given by their Founding Fathers to live a life with liberty and dignity.

    But, I’m hopeful for the rest of the world and especially Australia if we can break free of political alignment with the failed U.S hegemon and attempt to run our own race.

  40. Having been a reader of GS now for quite some time, and feeling that I have found my tribe, as is my practise, chose to be circumspect.

    It took many decades of me correcting people because I knew more they did to step back and say to myself… I don’t think I am making any difference with this approach.

    Commenters, my invitation to you is to think about why you are commenting. If it’s to correct someone that doesn’t know what you do, pause before send. Ask if what you are saying adds to our collective knowledge, and if so, avoid tearing down fellow commenters. If the latter is true, You are possibly being reactive. I invite you to be reflective.

    • IDIG, I grant you that tearing down another commenter for the sake of it is destructive.

      That said, some ‘push-back’ (like that which I have with Ned and Berry), can be healthy and conducted with individuals whose opinions I respect.
      Even though we disagree with the odd thing on the margin, I believe that provoking a healthy debate can produce a healthy ‘end’ that justifies the ‘means’ that were employed along the way.

      As for one commenter whom I’ve had some fierce interchanges with in recent times (and another from the past who’s meanwhile been recalled to Mossad H.Q after his trolling stint failed to sway any Gumshoe subscribers), when said apologists are always obfuscating and making excuses for Zio-malfeasance and human rights abuses, I will not passively stand aside as they peddle their disinformation.

      There’s only so much a koala can bear.
