The Assange Ordeal is Far From Over

One of the ways that the “West” likes to distinguish itself from totalitarian society’s is its alleged adherence to the rule of law. This is a concept dearly held and expanded by the West to distinguish itself from other societies that are said not to enjoy the West’s supposed freedoms.

The proud boast is revealed as the chimera that it is by the treatment of Julian Assange, the Australian citizen who founded WikiLeaks.  He is currently languishing in a top security British prison awaiting the outcome of an American government appeal against the decision of a British judge not to export him to face trial in the United States on the grounds that he was physically unfit to be extradited.

There are a number of features of the Assange case that makes a mockery of the plea, be-loved by the West, that it is the home of freedom of expression. Assange published, several years ago, material fed to him by the American whistleblower Chelsea Manning, that detailed massive crimes by the American occupiers of Iraq.

Nobody has ever mounted a convincing argument that the allegations of Manning were untrue. It is without question that the Americans committed the most serious of war crimes following their illegal invasion of Iraq. It will be recalled that then United States president George Bush alleged that Iraq President Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, and that he was planning to use those weapons for, among other things, an attack upon the United States.

That claim was a total lie. Nearly 20 years later, the Americans still occupy Iraq. They simply ignored a resolution of the Iraqi parliament in January 2020 that they should leave. In the wilful compounding of the original felony of an illegal occupation, they were aided and abetted by their allies, including Australia, who similarly refused to abide by the Iraqi parliament resolution and are still similarly illegally occupying the country.

It will be further recalled that two years ago Assange was dragged from the Ecuadorian embassy where he had sought asylum in an attempt to extradite him to Sweden, who, not for the first time, was acting as lackeys for the Americans.

Assange has been locked up in a maximum-security prison ever since, notwithstanding his status. The British court sentenced him to 10 month’s imprisonment for breaching his bail conditions. This was an extraordinarily heavy sentence.

There were further court proceedings following a request from the United States government for Assange to be sent to the United States for trial. The charges he faced carried a maximum of 175 years imprisonment. There is little doubt that the Americans were determined to punish Assange for publishing the details of their multiple war crimes.

The British judge, somewhat surprisingly, refused the American extradition request on the grounds of Assange’s health. That decision has been appealed by the Americans. In the meantime, Assange remains imprisoned in a maximum-security prison, itself an extraordinary step to be taken.

Throughout the whole of these prolonged proceedings, the silence and lack of support from his own Australian government has been extraordinary. The Australian government made no attempt to assist him when he was a long-time occupant of his refuge in the Ecuadorian embassy. They have been conspicuous by their lack of support in combating the attempts by the Americans to extradite him.

One should not perhaps be surprised by this neglect. Australians were a willing participant in the illegal invasion of Iraq and like the Americans, they are still there and refusing to leave. The illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq has almost disappeared from the Australian mainstream media coverage. The government unjustly sees Assange as an embarrassment, with his revealing the brutal realities of the invasion and occupation as an uncomfortable reminder of the own less than glorious history acting, yet again, as lackeys of the Americans.

At the time of writing, the outcome of the American appeal is not known. It will be a surprise if the appeal is unsuccessful. Assange has no friends in the British establishment. His writings have shown all too clearly that the British who, when asked to jump by the Americans, have only one question: how high?

Perhaps one of the most disturbing elements of this case is the absence of support that Assange could reasonably expect to receive from his own government. The lack of covert support has been nothing short of disgraceful. Assange’s revealing of American war crimes are also an indictment upon the Australians. They willingly joined in an illegal war and have been steadfast in their support for that misadventure ever since.

The Australian support is reflected in the absence of Parliamentary debate on their continued presence in Iraq. Several years have passed since there was a debate in parliament on Australian involvement in this war. That is extraordinary. The Labor Party voted against Australia’s involvement in the war in 2002, yet they did nothing to end the involvement during the six years they were in office until 2013. This is probably a reflection of the extent to which Australian foreign policy is dictated by the Americans.

In the light of this history, it would be unrealistic for Assange to expect any future material support from his government. His nightmare is far from over.

  1. James, like David Hicks from South Australia Julian Assange has been thrown under the bus, as you indicate by corrupt Australian politicians while grovelling to the US diplomatic corps and military industrial machine.

    What sane person could come to the conclusion that Hussien could attack America even if he had weapons of mass destruction. What delivery system would he have had to delivered said weapons from one side of the Atlantic to the other? A wet dream by the evil establishment of the US. Any excuse for a war. Always brought about by those who have no intention in taking part in any battle. Cowards one and all.

    Why do those in the US regard other countries having weapons of mass destruction as a potential danger to the planet but they themselves are entitled to have such weapons?

    Like the Covid-19 scam, Julian’s fight for freedom will be dragged out until it is too late to be any benefit to him. Meanwhile the politicians and corrupt lawyers and judges are receiving their large salaries and bonuses. The longer they keep these court battles going the longer they will be themselves out of jail.

    • Speaking of David Hicks, I used to see him around the local haunts after he was released from prison. I brought his book Guantanamo and carried it with me in case I caught sight of him in my travels, but alas, I never saw him again!

  2. Julian is a mere 50 years of age but his photograph shows him to be nearly as old as myself (76).
    Being kept out of sunlight (vitamin D3) with little exercise and probably on prescription drugs as well as worry induced trauma his hair and beard is almost as white as mine with hair as sparse as mine is. My hairline is slightly lower.

    He has suffered more than enough and should be repatriated back to Australia regardless of whether criminal charges proceed against him or not. There is actually no lawful action to be taken against him as if there was it would have been instituted years ago before he entered the Ecuadorian Embassy.

    Ned, interesting story in UNCENSORED magazine issue 63 if you can get your hands on it. Not cheap ($A9.95). Page 26 written by State of the Nation. Answers some of my questions regarding President Trump.

    Do our readers realise that Biden is the second non president of US? Obama was first that I know of. He was born in Kenya so was not eligible to stand for that position. Amazingly he got two fraudulent terms. That is not topic of magazine mentioned above.

      • As far as I know, the African “Dad” of Obama was a passing fancy. The real father is almost certainly Frank Marshall of Hawaii. Maybe that is why the B/C was kept hidden. Or maybe the whole shebang was done to keep a portion of the tinfoil hatters (e.g., myself) occupied.

        I feel sure no American girl in 1960 would have traveled to Africa to birth her baby. If it were even possible to do so!

    Julian Asange is an Australian hero, revealing subversions of our members of parliament.

Under Washington’s pressure Moreno is making life in the Ecuadorian embassy as unbearable as possible for Assange in an effort to force him out into British hands. Responding to Washington’s pressure, the British government will not honor his asylum, which prevents Assange from being able to leave the embassy.

    There is no presence of “democratic values” in this affair. It is a repeat of the Soviet Union’s treatment of Cardinal Mindszenty, only it is Washington, not Moscow, who is stamping on the face of freedom.

    The Australian government, also in deference to Washington, has done nothing to help Assange. Australia, like every other vassal state, puts Washington’s interest ahead of both law and the interest of citizens.

    This week there were protests in Australia in support of Assange. However, Western governments are now so far removed from citizens who are today little more than subjects that it is unlikely that anything short of revolution can restore accountability to governments in the West.

America and Australia, (all parties) we must admit, are run by Zionist bankers who own the MSM, and Hollywood liars and perverts, while also also quietly funding (through Bill Gates), Atmospheric Geoengineering, the poison jab PLANdemic, endless False Flags etc. Why they hang on to Julian Assange, when he never dobbed them in for destroying the WTC, I cannot understand.

    • Sure, Gary, they keep him in a sad way so any other would-be’s would think twice. Hence allowing him to stay in Ecuador’s embassy for so long, to keep the story going. Hence the slow “DoJ” case.

      It can’t possibly be a “dispute” between UK and US, as they are one and the same person. And it is “that person” that dictates to Oz, I believe, not “the US” or “the UK.”

      Just my little ontological issue rearing its tiresome head again….

      PS, I offer a possible correction, James. Re Chelsea Manning, could any 19-year-old soldier, rank Private, have the skill, or the moxie to steal secrets? You can believe it if you want but I can’t force it into my noodle.

      I also think it’s astounding that the US Military paid the medical bills for the Bradley/Chelsea transition. In the Army, if you need even an eye operation, they just send you home. (I mean eye trouble that was not a battle injury.) Don’t hold me to this; I haven’t studied it.

        As the story remains as implausible as ever the entire Assange saga needs to be reassessed. No doubt he’s under some sort of duress but the truth is obviously far from what we’ve been told.

  12. Assange has been imprisoned for two years for revealing their lies and crimes. He has been held in high security Belmarsh prison in London, a facility for terrorists. Julian is locked up for years, now indefinitely, without any need to prove he is guilty of any crime.
