But I have many friends there, have spent a lot of time there, and was never aware of meeting anyone from those layers. They seem to keep the status quo, maybe because of foreign visitors who have come to a museum and want to see “Real Britain”. I think their Prime Minister is “a member”. We, in the “Central Europe” used to have the same, long ago, at the time of Austrian Empire, but we consider them at the level of “old excavations”. It all ended – practically – by the end of World War I. But Brits could really be nervous about loosing a part of tourism/image.
