A Dangerous Assassination – Was Nemtsov Worth More Dead Than Alive?

It is inconceivable that President Putin would orchestrate the assassination of his very minor rival on his doorstep. He is way smarter than that. In fact he even predicted and warned of such a scenario in 2012 (above). This is the stuff of spy novels.

55 year old Boris Yefimovich Nemtsov, a Russian scientist and politician was an important figures during the introduction of capitalism into the Russian post-Soviet economy. After having dinner on Friday (27 February) with his 23 year old model and girl friend, Anne Duritskaya – a Ukrainian, Nemtsov and Duritskaya walked across a bridge next to the Kremlin. An unknown assassin then shot the former deputy prime minister – a vocal critic of Vladimir Putin – four times in the back, killing him on the spot.

After being questioned in length by the investigative committee, Duritskaya, after midnight on Tuesday, flew into the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, from where she was swiftly whisked away by a security detail in a car with blacked-out windows.

With  Nemtsov being a real ladies man (three wives), I wonder if Duritskaya was not a ‘plant’. It would have been the easiest way to monitor and potentially manipulate the politician (especially from outside the country, with someone from Ukraine). But that is the stuff of spy novels – or is it?  In the Observer – “(Duritskaya) …just arrived from Kiev, is not a suspect, but possibly was used by the criminals without her knowledge.”

Interestingly, there seems to have been a problem with the security cameras that evening. This report claims security cameras were ‘turned off for repairs’. (In the West there are always problems with the security cameras during a false flag)

While state-run and Kremlin-controlled media focused on a theory that the killing was a provocation aimed at staining President Vladimir Putin, his critics are holding the Russian leader responsible for fanning nationalism and vilifying the opposition.

Paul Craig Roberts reports that the most likely explanation of Nemtsov’s murder is that the CIA decided, as Nemtsov was completely marginalized as an opposition politician with 5% as against Putin’s 85%, that Nemtsov was worth more dead than alive. But the ploy, if that is what it is, has not worked inside Russia.

Part of the circumstantial evidence that Nemtsov’s murder was a CIA tactic to destabilize Russia is the orchestrated US media. The New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, NPR, and the rest of the presstitutes were ready on cue with reports insinuating that Putin was responsible.
