What a mess. Hang on, I thought there was a cease fire (i.e., “a temporary suspension of fighting”).
Seven days ago The Guardian reported:
“Syria ceasefire begins as agencies prepare to deliver aid” and “Trucks set to bring humanitarian supplies to besieged city of Aleppo amid cautious optimism that ceasefire will hold.”
“A nationwide ceasefire in Syria brokered by the United States and Russia came into effect on Monday… Sources on both sides of the conflict have indicated they will respect it.”
Then today, The Guardian headlines:
“Australian warplanes took part in airstrikes that killed Syrian troops…
““Overnight, coalition aircraft were conducting airstrikes in eastern Syria against what was believed to be a Daesh [Isis] fighting position that the coalition had been tracking for some time,” [Australian defence department statement]
“However, shortly after the bombing commenced, Russian officials advised the Combined Air Operations Centre that the targets may have been Syrian military personnel.
“Russia has warned that the incident puts a “very big question mark” over the future of a precarious ceasefire agreed by Washington and Moscow, and a strongly worded foreign ministry statement on Sunday said that the strikes were “on the boundary between criminal negligence and direct connivance with Islamic State terrorists”.”
What happened to the ceasefire?
This an updated report from Zerohedge.com:
“Update 3: Russia’s foreign ministry says it has “reached the terrifying conclusion” that the US is conniving with the Islamic State. As ABC reports, Russia has called for an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council over a U.S. air raid that it says struck Syrian troops battling the Islamic State group. Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova says Moscow is demanding “full and detailed explanations about whether this was deliberate support of the Islamic State or another mistake”.”
Australia’s Involvement In These Wars
John Howard said it was “embarrassing” that Australia became involved in the Iraq war on false intelligence. This resulted in over a million lives lost.
Now Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull offers condolences to the families for the airstrike that killed the 83 plus Syrian soldiers killed.
“As many as 90 Syrian soldiers who had been fighting Islamic State forces around a military airport in the country’s east died when they were attacked by US-led coalition aircraft which apparently mistook them for militants.”
Just another “embarrassing” decision.
This would make one ashamed to be an Aussie!
We have no right at all to be bombing anyone in Syria! Let alone it’s Sovereign Army! The only Country that has a right to be in Syria is Russia, at the bequest of the Assad Gov.
We should withdraw all personnel NOW, from this illegal Coalition! Where is Shorten? Too worried about a ‘plebiscite’, to think about war crimes?
Yes the ‘plebiscite’ …………complete distraction to cover for our continuing 15 years of killing in the Middle East.
Disgusting, sickening, unthinkable – but the usual tactics I note …

It seems that the Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Foreign Minister Julie Bishop and ‘Defence’ Administrator’ Marise Payne have all been getting drunk on the same war juice. They are complicit.
I understand they have sent their ‘condolences’ … irrelevant and disingenuous – what we must demand now is full accountability. I am ashamed that these people call themselves Australian, insult our flag and the uniform my father proudly wore.
I don’t even want to air the response by Samantha Power – sickening and vile beyond belief – beyond words …
So our Prime Minister expresses his condolences to Syrian families for their relatives killed with our support …… Embarrasiing?
Nah, BS! it is part of the deliberate agenda to take down Syria and then Iran as exposed by General Wesley Clark in March 2007. (see link below)
They have been killing in the Middle East for over 15 years as planned prior to 9/11.
How embarrassing for our Canberra political boffins and mass media, including our paid for ABC and SBS, that they have not informed the Australian public that we have been on this killing spree for 15 years based on the lies of the silly tin foil hat official government 911 conspiracy theory.
Prime Minister and your colleagues; When are you going to stop killing people in the Middle East causing so much misery and causing the Muslim ‘refugee’ invasion of Europe and the UK?
Canberra polliticians; earn your living carrying out your obligation of carrying out due diligence with 2.13 minutes of your paid time examining why you lot are Embarrased?…………..You lot have been suckered………….for over 15 YEARS.
There seem to be two separate issues here: was there ceasefire?
and what uis the relation of the US to ISIS.
Then the third issue: should Oz be involved. I would like an answer first about the ceasefire. Is James on call?
And is Eddy on call re the question of soldiers disobeying an illegal order? (But I don’t yet say it was illegal).
Mary, you love to ask the big questions. There was a ceasefire agreement but it was quickly breached by the terrorist groups. As with previous ceasefires it was an opportunity for al Qaeda, Nusra et al to regroup and rearm. In this they were assisted by the Americans, Saudis, Turks and Qataris. These groups are an instrument of US foreign policy, which answers your second question. It is a policy that has been pursued for at least half a century (Operation Cyclone is a well known example).
For insight into the real reasons for these Middle Eastern wars I highly recommend Robert F. Kennedy’s article earlier this year on the pipelines. Also William Engdahl’s latest piece in New Eastern Outlook.
As to whether Australia should be involved? I have written a number of pieces on this. The short answer is No. There is no legal basis for our involvement and being there and bombing is a war crime.
Precisely what we did is unclear. The Russians (whom I believe on this topic) say that the attacks were carried out by two types of fighters that Australia does not have. The ABC’s 7.00 pm report tonight was pure propaganda and factually wrong.
Australia started bombing in September 2015, did none in October and N November, very small numbers in December 2015 (10 sorties) January 2016 (6) and February 2016 (4); then none for March to July inclusive.
There were 4 sorties in August. Why did they resume? We are not allowed to know and most of what we are told is BS. The Defence Minister refuses to comment and the Foreign Minister talks nonsense.
The folly of clinging to a rapidly declining empire remains exemplified by the Breaker Morant episode. History repeats.
If I may quote: September 15, 2016 “Information Clearing House” – “Counterpunch” – The conflict in Syria is not a war in the conventional sense of the word. It is a regime change operation, just like Libya and Iraq were regime change operations. …” and “But the United States is not doing the right thing in Syria. Arming, training and funding Islamic extremists — that have killed half a million people, displaced 7 million more and turned the country into an uninhabitable wastelands –is not the right thing. It is the wrong thing, the immoral thing. And the US is involved in this conflict for all the wrong reasons, the foremost of which is gas. The US wants to install a puppet regime in Damascus so it can secure pipeline corridors in the East. …” Finally, Australia is friend and ally of the USA.
What?
Is it suggested that from Howard to now we have been killing people because we do not like their sovereign government leader/s and want to steal their resources?
Surely not? Our politicians are honourable, moral law, abiding civilised human beings, some even have families and are even respected by Australian citizens.
Gee wizz, no it could not be!
There is not one of them that would stand idly by and let someone kick a stray dog to death. If one of them failed to act the Australian mass media would crucify them and call them cruel beasts………………. but, it is acceptable to kill heaps of foreign kids, orphan them, destroy their society, destroy their education prospects, maime them and destroy their career prospects……oops, withdraw the last part, as they are certainly being primed to be terroritss which I suppose could be classed as a potential career.
Finian Cunnignham is going to get a lot of ‘thumbs up’ for his assessment of the killing.

In one comment there is mention of our government proposing to change our war crimes provisions. (Fitzhenrymac comment in reply) Anyone on to that?
The first comment by ‘know the truth’ has sixteen likes at this moment, probably beacuse he mentions; “…… they deserve to be tried and executed for crimes against humanity”.
So Senator Hinch, as you rightly care about children being abused by paedophiles, what is your opinion and what are you going to tell your colleagues about General Wesley Clark’s exposure to go kill in seven countries? (see the video in comment below)
Now Senator, which is worse, paedophiles or many of your warmongering colleagues?
ORDER FOLLOWERS, the military and police and leading politicians do not exercise conscience (with knowledge). They have surrendered their sovereignty (they do not own their thoughts, their body and do not take responsibility for their actions). Many order followers, apparently suicide after becoming conscious of the natural law transgressions they have committed. The non-aggression principle and the self defense principle are being ignored by the order followers and the general public due to indoctrination and conditioning, lies and deception.
They have clearly failed to understand the meaning of “DO NOT DO TO OTHERS THAT WHICH YOU DO NOT WANT DONE TO YOU”
Perhaps our government would think it is ok for Australians to kill whom ever they like and claim it was an accident? If there are no consequences for the actions by order followers take then what kind of mental state are we entering into?

Thanks, David. here is a quote forn a US veteran re the My Lai massacre in Vietnam:
“We gathered not to sensationalize our service but to decry the travesty that was Lt. William Calley’s trial for the My Lai Massacre. The U.S. had established the principle of culpability with the Nuremberg trials of the Nazis. Following those principles, we held that if Calley were responsible, so were his superiors up the chain of command — even to the president. The causes of My Lai and the brutality of the Vietnam War were rooted in the policies of our government as executed by our military commanders.”
Same with Abu Graib, two low-level soldiers — only — were given courts-martial.
I note that the Wayne Madsen Report, under ‘pithy comments’ refers to us as America’s pet koala.
Obviously Wayne Madsen is not aware of our national ‘galahs’. Lovely mischievous parrots who would no double be horrified to have Malcolm Turnbull or Julie Bishop classed as a member of their flock.
Wayne, drop the koala analogy, they are harmless, only kill gum leaves and mind their own business in Australia up gum trees.
OK here we go again.
I note that the Wayne Madsen Report under the ‘pithy comments’ section refers to us as America’s pet Koala. ( what happened to sherif?)
Wayne appears to be unfamiliar with our galahs. Lovely pesky birds.
No doubt the galahs would object to having Malcolm Turnbull and Julie Bishop as an honoury member of their flock.
Wayne should leave our koalas in peace, they just sit in gum trees minding their own business in Australia chewing gum leaves.
Not so with our Canberra galahs, they mess about everywhere all over the place
THIRD attempt.
I note that Wayne Madsen of the Wayne Madsen report under ‘pithy comments’ refers to us as America’s pet koala. (A peg or two sown from being a sherif!)
Wayne appears to be unfamiliar with our pesky parrots, the galahs.
Whilst no decent galah would wish to have Malcolm T or Julie B as a member of their flock, it is more fitting then lumbering them as koalas.
Koalas are harmless and mind their own business chewing gum leaves up a gum tree. Perhaps our boffins might learn something from koalas.
I put this up for consideration.
I suspect that I only have a problem with commenting when I have conceded to word press follow ups.
I once was faced on the third attempt for my comment with a notice that I had already said that.
So who the hell is word press?
Interesting that the third post appeared before the first two.
In the third I altered a reference to Malcolm T and Julie B.
Politicians are the smart ones! They’ve been dividing and conquering for the many decades that I’ve been observing their talents. People are the problem. I M O, about 80% of ’em vote for major mobs with green festering carbuncles hanging from them. To simply solve the problems that have been repeatedly voted for, WAKE UP and vote for someone who puts people and Country FIRST! If you don’t, the ball and chain won’t be on your ankle, it’ll be around your neck as well.
Ditto, except instead of “Wake up and vote” I’d say “Wake up and stand for Parliament.”
How ’bout you?
Standing for Parliament is a great way to publicize your web surfing habits.
Everything can be summed up in two words: “Yinon Plan”.
http://www.globalresearch.ca/greater-israel-the-zionist-plan-for-the-middle-east/5324815
Paul, Oh that plan?
Well it is refreshing to know who our politicians are serving and for what our soldiers are being killed for ………… God’s plan!
Bloody God, she should mind her own business. (:~}
Saw some Mockingbird in the US Press recently trying to equate Yinon belief with belief in the Protocols being a true document (which probably didn’t go the way he hoped). I suspect more people know about Yinon now as a result. Should have stuck with the big H.
Good friends ,
This country is ruled by the hidden hand of freemasonry . They are so deceitful that even most members don’t know who their leaders are (let alone what they get up to). Just like most of us here in Oz , we have no influence on the decisions made here or overseas . Our “defence” force have always been mercenaries for the kabal . Even voting here is a joke (pencils?). For a long time we have been hijacked by criminals . Like I have said before , great place even better people but our leaders are not the good guys . Shame . Lies can never be truth. It all goes back to 911 and until it is brought out in the open things can only get worse . The war on terror is a pretext to bring in the global NWO police state . Financial martial law imposed by the bankers who have overloaded us with debt. Our PM is a banker . That explains everything .
Test
Testimonies by Syrian soldiers:
– We [Syrian soldiers] first thought the aircraft are support to us after the first 2 shots, but we quickly found out that they are targeting our forces aggressively, while we were fighting IS terrorists. The aircraft used cluster bombs against us.
– A day before the airstrikes, the [US] drones were flying and scanning all the area
– The US air-strikes destroyed all our equipment and defense points.
- IS fighters attacked us immediately after and during the US strikes. Some of them were laughing
- US drones and helicopters opened fire from machine guns on our retreated forces
– It for sure wasn’t a mistake, they targeted us intentionally to help IS.

Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezuz.
Mary,
The Universal force is to retain balance. It can be observed everywhere if we look, whether it is life in the soil or the motion of the heavenly bodies. The world of human beings is currently out of balance and a correction will come about. It is just a matter of time.
Now why and how do sociopaths, ie those “normal” humans who have the ability for true CARE but have been corrupted by primary psychopaths, manage to reconcile the seeming contradictions within themselves over time? Don’t they worry about the consequences when they willfully and knowingly do wrong ie transgress natural law. The future is after all unknown but is created by the universal mind ie everybody.
Surely they have used the words “what goes around comes around” or “chickens come home to roost” or “reap what you sow” etc.?
ddave
David, excellent post. It will probably take a bit longer for the masses to fully wake up to the psychopaths, but when they do…
Our tax dollars going to support ISIS. Great. But what should any of us expect, given that we are a Cabal-controlled country! Goldman Turnbull and HSBC Baird says it all.
Yes Davo, it does make me ashamed to be an Aussie. Let’s hope Trump makes it to the Whitehouse. (and that he’s not another massive psyop)
“As goes ‘murica, so goes the rest of the (Western) world.
As he said recently, it may just be our last chance!
Howard and Turnbull learnt well from Robert Menzies. That big time groveller to the U.K. and U.S. Anything to get himself recognised on the world stage and stuff the Australian community. It makes me puke, when locals says we have to follow the U.S. or we will be over run by China and or Russia, They haven’t worked out that if either China or Russia wanted to invade us, nothing could stop them except maybe the isolation from mainland Asia. Certainly not the U.S. who could not even win the war in a little country like Vietnam, with all the resources that the U.S. had at their disposal.
