Europe Prepares to Pay a High Price for Their Adherence to United States Leadership

When the new Australian Labor government came to power in the general election in May of this year many held out the hope that it might pursue an independent foreign policy. That policy had for decades been as a loyal acolyte of the United States, following the Americans into an endless succession of wars, including the prolonged war in Vietnam, and more recently the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The history of those wars should have taught Australia a lesson. Australia’s involvement in the Vietnam war with the withdrawal of Australian troops by the Whitlam government, an action that undoubtedly fuelled United States anger and was influential in United States opposition to that government and the role played in its downfall after only three years in power.

The lessons of that bitter experience were undoubtedly learned by later Labor governments who completely ignored the experience of Vietnam and were willing to join the Americans in the later misadventures in the wars against Iraq and Afghanistan. One wonders why they learned nothing from that experience. Both of those wars were based on a lie as indeed the Vietnam war had been. In Iraq’s case it was that Saddam Hussain was massing weapons of mass destruction with which he planned to invade his neighbours and control their oil reserves.

With Afghanistan the fundamental lie was that Afghanistan was sheltering Osama bin Laden, the alleged man behind the attacks upon the World Trade Centre in 2001. Osama bin Laden died of natural causes in December 2001, although we were treated to an entirely fictional account of his alleged capture years later, followed by a summary execution and burial at sea of the body, purportedly that of bin Laden. Even this wholly fake exercise did not lead to the Americans and their Australian lackey leaving Afghanistan, where they remained for a further decade until the ignominious withdrawal in 2021. Even that did not end the United States’ exploitation of that country, with the blatant theft of its foreign exchange holdings that had the misfortune to be held in United States dollars.

This history had no effect on the Australian government that loyalty followed the United States in its support of the Ukraine. The new government made no attempt to end the Australian contribution to the war and has in fact increased the commitment of supplying arms to the Ukrainian government, which is a byword for corruption. The real history of that regime is completely missing from the official narrative that the public are fed.

Completely overlooked is the fact, for example, that the legitimate Ukrainian government was overthrown in 2014 in a coup organised and financed by the United States, including the active involvement of the current United States president Joe Biden who was the vice president at the time. That Ukrainian government signed the 2014 and 2015 Minsk

agreements designed to achieve a peaceful end to the conflict between the Donbass and the rest of Ukraine. They had no intention of honouring that agreement and have waged war on the region ever since, killing at least 16,000 civilians and forcing more than 1 million into exile. They still have thousands of troops in one of those two regions, having been expelled from the other of the Donbass regions.

Ukrainians never accepted the wish of the people of Crimea to return to Russia from which it had been transferred in 1954. The current president of Ukraine still talks about the forcible return of Crimea to Ukraine ignoring the relevant history, and the wishes of the people of Crimea itself. Western media assists this wholly fruitless exercise by constantly referring to Russia’s “annexation” of Crimea.

The Ukrainians are losing the war against Russia. Some estimates place the casualties of dead and wounded at 1000 per day. For a while we were treated to the fiction of 1 million more Ukrainians who were to miraculously ride to the rescue. The defence minister has recently admitted that he was “misquoted” and there will be no such miraculous recovery of Ukrainian fortunes.

That is not the end of the Ukrainian lies. They persist in claiming massive Russian casualties running into the tens of thousands. Other commentators, notably in the British press, persist in insisting that the Russians have nearly exhausted their military reserves and that a miraculous Ukrainian victory is nearly imminent. The truth is somewhat more prosaic. Russian casualties are in fact very low and they have barely scratched the surface of their manpower reserves.

The Ukrainian reports of Russian killings of the civilian population is similarly distorted. There have been civilian casualties as one might expect, but they have been largely civilians caught in military targets. In many cases they have been placed there by the Ukrainians. The media is completely silent, on the other hand, of large-scale Ukrainian shelling of the civilian population of towns and cities that have been captured by the Russians.

The inescapable fact is that the Donbass has been almost completely captured by the Russian forces and they are moving progressively into the major areas of Ukraine itself. It is expected that Ukraine will shortly lose its access to the sea completely. Whether the Russians will continue to push Westward into Ukraine is as yet uncertain. Commentators are divided as to the final point of the Russian advance. It is worth noting however that Russian rhetoric on the topic has recently hardened, and they seem more likely than not to continue the fight into Ukrainian territory.

What does seem certain is that the present Ukrainian government will not survive and will be replaced by a different regime that is more amenable to the Russian viewpoint. That is not an outcome that is likely to please the Australian government or their American bosses. The initial aim of the sanctions against Russia was to destroy their economy, remove Putin, and replace the present Russian government with a regime that was amenable to western looting of Russia’s immense resources.

It is a plan that has failed miserably. The vast bulk of the world’s nations have failed to line up with the Western alliance and condemn Russia. They have rejected Western threats and blandishments and instead have sought to sign up to non-western alliances, such as the Belt and Road Initiative and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. A further organisation, the BRICS, is attracting applications from countries as diverse as Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

Western Europe for its part is now paying a huge price for its willingness to follow the Americans. Their sanctions have failed as Russia has easily found alternative markets in Africa, South America and Asia. They face the grim prospect of being unable to heat their homes and businesses this coming European winter. Their adherence to the American antipathy to Russia is extracting a heavy price and there are increasing signs that they belatedly recognise the folly of their actions.

It is likely to be too little, too late. Europe is learning the wisdom of the old saying, you make your bed, and you lie in it. Ordinary Europeans will pay a heavy price for the vanity and stupidity of their erstwhile leaders.

  1. Dear James, it is my melancholy duty to inform you, yet again, that I disagree with your ontology of the world. You keep saying that “the Americns” did such and such. Well, I’m American and I did not do such and such.

    James, as far as I can see, we in the US are just as much subjected to Mr Globalist as you are. Moreover, as far as the Vietnam war is concerned, the alleged motive of keeping communism at bay was always a lie. The capitalists were in bed with the communists. Come on, you must have read Antony Sutton’s work by now.

    Everybody has ontological limitations, but we need to confront those limitations. I realize I may be wrong about “Oz following America.” I realize that it’s hard to pin down (in any human brain) the reality of a group, other than its consisting of individuals. I mean “What is the US?” is a tricky question.

    I’m just disappointed that you seem not to observe the fact that the US is bossed. Incidentally, I think the Israeli people are equally bossed by Mr Globalist. While it is hard to focus on that concept, it needs to be focussed on. So much is at stake.

    That said, I give you full credit for crying out from the wilderness about Australia’s lousy foreign policy. The video of Kevin Rudd and Julie Bishop at lawn bowls says it all.

    I know you will ignore.
    But do you have any appreciation that since 1871 the corporate fiction that the US Incorporation as then formed and controlled within ten square miles as the District of Columbia, does not now exist. It is bankrupt and has no international significance or military power.
    Washington is all closed down. As is the City of London and the Rothschilds Vatican.

    • Agreed. My good friend has a close friend who worked in D.C. – she says it is indeed entirely shut down, pretty much no govt offices open and hasn’t been for quite a long time. We are under the Insurrection Act of 1807, when you read it, it all makes sense. In 1871 Ulysses S. Grant, hero of the northern U.S. (who also owned at least one slave) sold U.S. and it became U.S.A., Inc. The Civil War pretty much ended one of the foundations of the U.S. and our constitution because state’s rights came to an end. The South was trying to preserve State’s rights and that is what they really fought for – not keeping slavery, as only 1 to 2% owned slaves in the South and there were many abolitionists there. What is not known well is that there were blacks who owned other blacks as slaves. But the South lost the war and America as it was intended to be, also was lost. In 1871 President Grant just made sure documents were created to solidify the takeover. Lincoln used the Marxists who came here from Europe to get re-elected. That was how socialism/communism got started here. Lincoln’s actions ensured that they had a foothold of power.
