I am a teacher at a state secondary school in southern Germany. I was tenured on the condition that I am willing to “stand up at all times for the free democratic Basic Order in the sense of the Basic Law” (§ 7 paragraph 1 number 2 BeamtStG). For this reason, I would like to report what has been happening in my school since March 2020. I anticipate: It has no resemblance to freedom in the sense of the Basic Law. My school has become a place of relentless coercion, mistrust, strict obedience and denunciation.

I am of course aware that school is a place of coercion anyway, despite all the euphemism-soaked Sunday speeches. You have to tolerate that if you want to be a teacher, as well as the selection function you must fulfil, despite all your sympathy for pupils. But it is possible to exercise appropriate coercion and still act humanely, that is, with a certain degree of empathy. In my experience, many colleagues manage this very well in normal everyday school life. In the crisis, fear, as well as the urge to obey and run along, destroyed empathy for very many.

What I have experienced in the last 12 months at school, initially took away my courage to face life. In addition I experience a feeling of absolute loneliness in the crowd of my carefully masked colleagues who constantly disinfect their hands — and who seem to be in a very good mood for that very reason. They go along with everything and avoid any political discussion. I was bewildered and it made me doubt my own sanity at times. I have meanwhile learned to resist the pull of despair, but I have nevertheless come to a point where I cannot help but agree with Henryk Broder: The personnel for the next dictatorship actually seems to already be in place.

Participation Dependent on Digital Equipment

In March 2020, rumours came to a head that the school would be closed before the Easter holidays. In the weeks since the beginning of January, an above-average number of pupils and teachers had been ill. In hindsight, I think they probably had Corona, except that you weren’t locked up for it then.

One Friday, our headmistress went into the staff room and, with a slight irony in her voice, announced the immediate closure of the school. After the holidays we would see what would happen. There was muted excitement, a few jokes were cracked about whether someone with one-year-old triplets at home could still come to school. These were the last moments of a normality that I can’t imagine will ever return to school.

So-called distance learning (or distance teaching) now began, a euphemism that, like many others, became established in common parlance frighteningly quickly. What did it mean? Here is a partial list:

 — Eye contact between teachers and students was henceforth obsolete, as the state government’s web conferencing program had a lot of server crashes and transmission delays. Commercial programs were not privacy-compliant. In the end, an agreement was reached on a program that did not crash provided the teacher switched on the camera, one that had been “approved” by the school’s data protection officer. Of course, there was still no joking around when it came to data protection.

— The fact that we had all been locked up due to a hasty change in the law was shrugged off by everyone.

— At least one teacher stopped teaching immediately, while others tried hard to cope with the change to purely digital communication with the students. I take my hat off to some of the senior colleagues who faced a very steep learning curve.

— Students were locked at home, their participation in class dependent on their digital equipment. Many didn’t own a computer other than their mobile phone, or it was used by another family member. By no means did every household have a printer to print out a worksheet when needed. So, many students read everything, whether text or graphics, exclusively on their small mobile phone screens and worked on their assignments as best they could.

— But many students also disappeared from the radar, often those who had a hard time keeping up anyway. What could you say as a teacher when you were told: I didn’t have internet access to access the assignments or participate in the conference? Talks with parents did not always resolve the issue.

— Colleagues came up with completely new control mechanisms and reprisals to keep these students in line. It did not always succeed and still isn’t succeeding a year later. It is these students who will pay a very high price for the school closures. I would like to ask the next politician who utters the word educational justice: what did you do during the crisis?

— Since teachers in my type of school do not like to cooperate, everyone sent his or her assignments when it suited him or her. Students never knew when the next assignment with a short deadline would show up on their screen. They couldn’t plan or organise their workload, but woe betide them if they didn’t hand something in on time. This was reported to me by the kids.

Pupils Afraid of Killing Their Grandparents

This was the situation students found themselves in overnight: all social contact with peers was forbidden, they were alone with school assignments, their opportunities to exercise were limited to activities in the garden. They sat in front of their screens for hours, both before and after school, thus they could no longer escape family problems.

The reason for all this, as we know, was the threat of suffocation. I actually consider children to be robust and at that time I was not ready to complain about their lot. But things are different now. The pupils are in exactly the same situation twelve months later. They are still locked up, cannot do sports, only sit in front of their screens, are not allowed to meet, are alone.

And the news is pouring in that everything is even worse than ever before, the danger omnipresent, death even more likely. For some time now, we have been receiving emails via the school email – without any comment from the school administration, of course, because that could be interpreted as an admission – from associations that offer help with suicidal thoughts in children and young people. Well, well.

I have often wondered how parents manage to expose their children to these medieval messages. All my students are afraid, especially of killing their grandparents. Actually, I have had mostly positive experiences with parents, finding them mostly reasonable and approachable. I am all the more dismayed by what I experience.

With the majority of my colleagues, I am simply angry. How often have I heard the term “in the interests of the students”, how often the statement that one should not torment the poor with too much material or pressure to take grades, that one must make use of the “pedagogical leeway” and so on. I am often repelled by these statements because I think they are really about self-promotion as a good person and exemplary teacher. But one mustn’t speak against such empathy-like ideas..

Except this: Shortly before the mask requirement was introduced, there was a teachers’ conference. I wrote to a friend: “I am sitting in the conference. It’s about compulsory masking. There is a lot of excitement, but all the questions have only one goal: How can we better control, reprimand, punish the students if they resist the mask requirement? Can we kick them out of school? Yes? Is that possible?

Nobody, not a single one, asked how the children will actually feel about what we are actually doing here. Nothing but hysterical obedience, control mania, submission. The next dictatorship will come, and Germany will be at the forefront. I am desperate.”

  4. In a society where both Mum and Dad go to work leaving the infant in the care of strangers it is no wonder the child becomes dis-orientated. These days afterwards, at school the child is told to forget what sex they are as they can choose for themselves at a later time.

    Seeing that Mum is at work for some time after the school day has finished there is no guidance from her. By the time parents get home have tea (usually not home cooked therefore non nutritional) its time for homework and bed. No time for interaction between child and parents, not even time for discipline or instilling values. It is no wondered how teenagers don’t know the value of anybody else’s property and go berserk when let loose in society.

    Then in this era we get authoritarian types in the government and educational areas that have to show their power and control. It does not matter how stupid or obnoxious the idea is , it must be adhered to, or the people who arc up will be fined or jailed or both. Therefore very few have the guts to complain and just go along with the stupidity.

    The perfect example is the Covid scam. 16 months into the stupidity and very few have awoken. “Hurry up with that vaccine, I don’t want to miss out!” I have heard a statement that somebody stated that, “they would rather have blood clots, than get Covid”. How pathetic?

  5. W3, I am with you as a an anti-vax person, now that I have become educated. Interesting that you mention tetanus injection. I don’t know your age, but age apparently comes into the equation. Some years ago when I was in my 60’s, because I am very active in the garden and had not had a tetanus shot for at least 40 odd years I asked my doctor for a tetanus needle. He verified my age and said “we don’t give tetanus injections to people your age anymore”. Thank goodness I came away without a shot.

    • I told the nurse that 20 years ago I was fixing up my back yard which was on a hill and muddy and I stood on a very rusty nail which went right through my foot so I could see the skin on top sticking up like a little tent, I went and washed it and put on shoes and kept walking around and a couple of days later was fine.

        • The problem with proving anything is that it can’t be proved because all the economics involved are totally secret, in Swiss banks, tax havens and so forth.   12. On the coming dictatorship
    Injections will be paid for by Special Drawing Rights (source Rockerfella Foundation). Countries are allocated SDRs by the world bank just like people get a credit limit from their credit card – it costs you nothing of you don’t use it. Let’s say injections cost $20 each and 2 injections x 25 million people costs $1 billion, so you borrow the SDRs and pay interest to World Bank (which is part of UN same as the WHO which told you to buy the injections). Lets say interest starts at 0.5% that would be only $5 million the first year. Second year interest rates might go up, lets say they go up to 1% p.a., you are up for another $5 million for the first year + $10 million for the second year, total $15 million, and everyone got 4 injections for that. Next year injections price goes up so the interest bill total is $30 million. Why would you pay the $1 billion+ each year debt when the interest rates were so low. After a decade you are getting 3 injections per year, price is up, interest rates up, you owe so many billions, the interest bill must be at least $100 million per year and you are still getting more injections (and paying for the blood clots etc).
    At the same time because of low interest rates house prices keep going up and as soon as the market goes flat and the economy gets depressed people need “interest only” loans, we already had them a few years ago when house prices were declining. People will lock in the interest only loan for a long time, the interest rate will be slightly higher of course than the “principal and interest” loan which they can’t afford since they are on job-seeker dole by then. (Have you ever heard of “the miracle of compound interest ? The miracle is mainly when you are allowed to create your own money). People will die without even paying off their house and the kids (if any) will inherit the interest only mortgage, which stamp duty will be added to. But don’t worry you will be happy because “You will own nothing and you will be happy” or if not you will be gulagged and re-educated (the lucky ones anyway).

    BEWARE THE TV SUBLIMINALS
    A friend was appearing on TV and as the video recorder had packed up
    i decided to film her.
    This i did, and after watching the film, i played it back very slowly,
    i saw something flicker very quickly on the screen,
    so in playback i saw the word “Fear” in a box flash on the screen.
    I was puzzled by this so set about checking for other words
    and was shocked to see the words Hate Confusion Rape and Covid flash on screen.
    After much experimentation, i dont think this is accidental, i filmed the words
    Envy Fire and Kill.
    Nobody at the camera club believed me until i showed them.
    I had heard of subliminals, the advertsing industry has used them for years, but never thought the BBC would deliberately put them in its programmes, soaps were the worst, full of flashing images of homosexuality violence and short words of Hate, these can only be to leave people with negative feelings of depression despair and anger.
    It is well known that Disney cartoons promote Homosexual deviation to children, but why ?
    My son in law is quite up on these things and told me During Tony Blair’s war on the people in Iraq, images were flashed on British screens in Arabic, to quell any dissent by the huge Muslim communities now here in the UK.
    Aparently a lot of effort in subliminals went in to demonise Saddham Hussein Gadhaffi and Assad, to justify what our government did and are still doing.
    These quick flashes on screen are too quick for the conscious mind but go deep into the subconscious.
    Rothschild’s took over the BBC just prior to W W 2, it is vile and racist we in the UK have to pay a licence fee to have the BBC even if we never watch it, but people abroad get it for free, Just recently the BBC protected one of its interviewers, Philip Schofield who had been sending repeated sexual texts to schoolboys some aged just 13.
    Jewish teaching is that the black races are the lowest form of human life and for a jew like Philip Schofield to be paying black schoolboys to urinate on him, is beyond disgusting.
    The BBC also hid up the crimes of Jimmy Saville, Paul Gambaccini and a host of others.
    One BBC director made the unforgettable and outrageous racist comment
    that “The UK was hideously white”
    There have been many petitions to Parliament to disband the BBC
    for is hate protecting sex perversion and racism, i just cant figure why they would put so many flashes on screen about getting your covid jabs.
    Do yourself a favour, dump your TV.

    • Correct me if I am wrong, but ‘Sir James Wilson Vincent Savile OBE KCSG’ has not had his title rescinded.

      Philip moves on and still no mention of Sir James (or Andrew’s good mate Jeffrey) by either the royalty or their representative in Australia. Go figure.
