I sit upon my global perch.

I’ve really got nowhere to go.

I’ve ruined all that you can see

Plus some that we don’t yet know.

 

I wrecked the animals, and the land.

I even wrecked the weather.

(Photosynthesis is a mystery to me

How everything hangs together.)

 

My forebears assured me that Power is all.

It counts more than ordinary life.

“Family ties will cease,” they suggested.

“A man does not need a wife.”

 

“Higher learning must be abolished

Books and art are a waste of time.

Chaos is the option we recommend,

We’ll implant this by drugs and crime.”

 

I asked, Doesn’t morality give us protection?

My forebears said “Surely, you jest.

Pursuit of big money beats all of that

A solid bottom line is the best.”

 

A child’s value? It’s what the market will pay.

For organs or experimentation,

Or sex, or porn, or just plain labor

In this Dickensian nation.

 

Did I say ‘nation’? Sorry, that was a goof,

We aim at global unity.

Folks will abandon local commitments

In their search for opportunity.

 

The ‘units’ can be moved, all over the place,

To suit what we top-dogs desire.

Epidemics, starvation, and forced migration —

Of such things we never tire.

 

Artificial intelligence is a marvelous trick,

To radically restyle their mind,

I can change reasoning, and all the emotions,

Or even make people go blind!

 

More importantly, we can kill them in droves.

Their numbers are off the chart.

Burial of a billion bodies, however,

Is holding back the start.

 

If we don’t get rid of them soon, I fear

Our generations of work may be lost.

The smart ones are already waking up —

They know they’ve been double-crossed.

 

At least they’re not planning to harm us, though.

Surveillance now saves us from that.

When we detect a ‘savior’ on emails,

Our sledgehammer falls on that gnat.

 

Plus we taught them non-violence, a few years ago.

They swallowed the message of M-L-K.

What a bunch of sheep, with no urge to attack us!

Well, at least we needn’t worry all day.

 

Yet, I sometimes wonder if there’s a plot out there

That the plotters themselves do not know.

Perhaps humanity, as a whole, self-preserves —

And isn’t willing to go.

 

I also wonder if I’ve made a mistake

I belong to humanity too.

Was I deprived of a million good things?

Hmm. Is there someone I should sue?

 

Wait. This morning I heard the chirp of a bird.

It unexpectedly touched my heart.

The chirp lasted no more than seconds,

But it’s beginning to tear me apart.

 

The earth is wondrous, and its fullness

Was created by I-don’t-know-whom.

Was it my fault, if I was fed wrong stuff

From the moment I left the womb?

 

Oh, I’m beginning to see it — I get it, but

How did others go so far off the track?

I must have been crazy, we were all of us crazy.

Now can some of the harm be turned back?

 

I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I regret what I’ve done

Especially giving torture and disease.

My actions are totally unforgivable,

But have mercy, I’m imploring you.

Please.

  3. Watching ABC’s Parliament Question Time I notice that the aboriginal flag takes centre stage.

    Flag protocol – About the three flags

    Australia has a national flag but also recognises other flags, including state and territory flags, the Aboriginal flag, the Torres Strait Islander flag, Defence Force Ensigns and the Australian Red Ensign (flown at sea by Australian registered merchant ships).

    This protocol focuses on flying the Australian National flag, Aboriginal flag and Torres Strait Islander flag together

    When flying all three flags together, the Australian National Flag takes precedence over the other flags.

    When using the stand provided, the Australian National Flag flies from the central pole as this is the highest pole. The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags are equal in status and can be flown on either side of the national flag. There is no rule stating that the Aboriginal flag must be to the right of the Australian National Flag and the Torres Strait Islander flag on the left of the Australian National Flag or vice versa.

    These rules also apply when displaying the desk set flags.

    WITH THE ABORIGINAL FLAG TAKING CENTRE STAGE IN THE HOUSE OF PARLIAMENT IS THIS DONE IN ANTICIPATION OF AN ABORIGINAL TAKEOVER OF THE GOVERNANCE OF AUSTRALIA?

    • The Blue Ensign, which is the Corporation Flag, is not our national flag, it is the Red Ensign, this was changed without consultation with the Australian. It was changed by the “honorable” R G Menzies.

        • Couple good finds there crisscross767. Many see the lies and deceit, while many fail to see what is so obvious and that will affect all of us, if put into practise.

          Many also fail to realize that the Corporation, falsely portrayed as the Australian Government, has no legal or lawful standing as such. In fact, if there were enough of us who comprehended that simple Truth and who chose to not comply with any of its agencies or dictates, the Corporation calling itself the Australian Government, would cease to exist.

          And their ending can be as simple as saying, No more!.

  8. Request for Assistance please. I am trying to find my article about the funeral of Malcolm Fraser. He died on March 20, 2015. I have searched the Gumshoe archives for that month and the next month. I seem to recall writing the article on the ride home from the Mar 27 funeral in Melbourne. I think the photo was of the Vietnamese people holding up a sign outside the church to thank Fraser. Anyone recall that? Ta.
