SPC and a new world order

How dare the SPC Ardmona workers desire above award wages, and all those pesky perks. Yep they are getting close to $50K a year. They should be grateful to have had a job – and grateful that those they voted for are work themselves to the bone to make sure “We’ll be right”. Remember these pollies slave for us for a paltry salary of $194K (back-bencher) – plus loading ~$39K, an average travel allowance of $27K, an electorate allowance $32K (min), overseas travel $42K (avg), domestic flights $47K, plus car costs ~$35K, and family travel ~$6K (The Age Oct 2013). It is tough in Canberra (well it might be for Sharman Stone – a tick for her). And as Abbott said after the cabinet meeting “Our job is to set the best possible framework for business to flourish…” (Exchange ‘politicians’ for ‘business’ or maybe just add ‘business execs to flourish’). Maybe Abbott et al could donate their recent most generous bonuses.

But through dark glasses it could seem that the possible demise of SPC Ardmona is just normal modern decay in a globalist New World Order lens. It’s all about finding places with ever cheaper labour. Anyway why would the big CC spend money fixing up their factory in a distant valley? Not only have they possibly neglected their asset – but why not get on the bail-out band wagon. All the other elite corporations are doing it – asking the tax payer (so they can keep their exec-perks intact).

But now we’re in this world where governments are swayed by ‘the economists’ talking up the corporatocracy agenda. Well its all part of the ever unfolding globalist landscape of crony capitalism and a New World ‘Order’. Big companies send their manufacturing to cheaper locations. So for a successful international conglomerate it probably makes absolute sense to strip SPC and buy a business overseas where the workers get a few dollars a day.

But for Australians – and our kids – the loss of this company will just be another toe off an Australian foot. What the hell – you can still walk with four toes, can’t you?. And if Coco-Cola Amatil decide its too much effort, well those poor workers and those people that supported those workers might soon be called dole bludgers.

Where is the vision of our leadership in designing some path forward – that didn’t burden the tax payer? At least talk as if you have vision. And what about all those many Australian billionaires that love this country? 25 big ones – that’s petty cash. And what about Coles and Woolworths? A friend reported that they struggled to find SPC on the shelves. The giants have placed their home brands and cheap imports in more favourable positions.

Well – it’s all about “Down – down – prices are down”. I (almost) refuse to buy from the duopoly. I think its all a grab for cash – as execs strip companies of their assets then ask the taxpayer for assistance; of giant supermarkets vacuuming up supplier competition (while pretending to do it for you); and of politicians who enjoy and or will enjoy life long benefits (Take, just as an example, a past Treasurer – now receiving $277,500 a year or $5336.53 per week in retirement).

Well if you care for the Goulburn valley I think there would be many inventive ways in encouraging business – maybe even buying some of their products.
