Missing Justice Pt 1: “Missing Persons” and the “Undisclosed Location”

By Dee McLachlan

As I usually do in these child-protection catastrophes, I try to hold back — to avoid “inflaming” anything. Because when the system feels even mildly challenged, it’s the protective parent or, worse, the children themselves that get punished.

So I write my endless behind-the-scenes letters, hoping that at some point sanity might prevail. Unfortunately, those letters usually vanish into the bureaucratic void. The system just keeps ploughing on — across the wrong field. Instead of tending to the barren paddock where the real rot lies, it barrels into a perfectly healthy orchard — ripping up roots, snapping branches, and scattering fruit everywhere. And no one operating the machinery seems capable of understanding what they’re destroying.

That’s how families across this country are broken apart — children never given a chance to ripen on their own (family) tree. Instead of nourishing the tree, the adopted model is to pluck a child out of a home to “protect” it. And I’m not talking about those kids who genuinely need rescuing from rotten situations, it’s that the operating system has a default setting in the child-removal business.

So here we are. This is the story of the “missing” children who were missing on purpose. But before I go on, the rules require that I’m not allowed to name the children or identify the parents. If I did, I’d probably be prosecuted and transported to an “undisclosed location” myself — just like the young lass in this story.

Yes, that’s literally how the Department described her whereabouts to the Children’s Court — she was at an “Undisclosed location,” your Honour.

In reality, they had arrested a 12-year-old girl and dropped her into the government’s little-known “black site”: Secure Welfare in Maribyrnong — a facility supposedly meant for children at risk to themselves, not children at risk from the State. I can legitimately call it a black site, because once they had ripped the teenager from her mum’s arms, she was not told where her daughter was for three and a half weeks. In fact, for over two months the government kept her daughter’s location a dark secret — despite the Family Court previously ordering the “children shall live with the mother.”

Secure Welfare, Maribyrnong (AI generated/adapted)

Welcome to Missing Justice. This saga will be a long series, I assure you.

My involvement began earlier this year when I was mailed a package: two original diaries with a USB. On it was a video of two teenage girls explaining, with heartbreaking clarity, that they were in hiding — officially listed as “missing persons” — but that they wanted the world to know they were not missing.

I looked up the police’s Facebook “missing persons” post, and there they were: two bright-eyed, smiling teenagers plastered across social media like a suburban milk-carton mystery. Naming them publicly, the post earnestly informed the public that the younger sister had vanished and may “be travelling with two cats, two rabbits and a dog,” which would have been charmingly pastoral if the underlying situation were not so serious.

And their diaries sharp, articulate, and painfully honest — these were brave, intelligent young women documenting their own survival.

Through a third party, I tried to secure legal help. But when I returned from South Africa months later, they were still in hiding. “Constructive detention” is the polite legal euphemism for when someone is so terrified of authorities that they conceal themselves from society. By late July, I was cautiously scheming ways they might reclaim some fragment of liberty. In August, we agreed I would act for them as Guardian ad Litem.

Fight or Flight

I’ll try to lay this convoluted, conflicted saga out as simply as possible — because the the modus operandi of the courts and the child-protection agencies is complexity and paperwork; dysfunction is profitable.

After a long and turbulent relationship, the mum — wrist broken or badly injured — grabbed her two daughters and fled into homelessness. When a thin mat in a cold tent is safer than a warm bed, you know something is wrong.

In 2018, a police officer actually did what the badge promises: he issued an Interim Intervention Order (IVO) to protect the mother and the girls. It was renewed in 2019, but, as with most fractured marriages, the matter slid into the Family Court. In this process of moving into the federal jurisdiction, some of the protections were displaced so that some visitation with the father could occur — but the Family Court ordered that the children were to live with their mum. A year later the interim IVO became final creating a fragile legal framework in which the mum tried to operate.

During lock-down, things stabilized. Visits with the father continued.

Then, in 2023, everything imploded. The father withheld the older sister, threatened her — “under threat of death,” she later disclosed — and coerced her into lying about her mother. Police then obtained an IVO against the mother, supposedly to “protect” the older daughter. We now know it was defective from the outset. But, pause and consider the lunacy: The original IVOs protected both girls from the father. Though some protections were softened for visitation, the system then flipped the script and created a conflict that could effectively render her parent-less.

From there, the train derails.

The father then attempted to pressure the younger sister to lie too, but she refused. She stopped attending visits. Terrified she would be withheld like her older sister, she avoided him entirely. Having weaponized the first IVO, the father recruited police to obtain a second — expressly to reclaim the younger daughter and block her from seeing the parent she trusted. He knew exactly what he was doing. He knew she was unwilling to visit him, and he for sure knew that separation from her mum would be truly traumatizing.

And the system obliged.

This is when so-called “protective” system rolls out its brigade of officials that treated the non-consented IVO as gospel — while ignoring the child’s voice. The Department launched a full-scale “retrieval” operation, and when a child is faced with perceived danger, there are three options: fight, freeze, or flight.

A child cannot fight a court order — however defective it may be. Freeze was not an option, oo this young lass chose flight.

She ran to evade authorities, and hid with friends. She was resolute in not been taken to the person she claimed was abusive to her. Her mother also refused to reveal her whereabouts — because she knew exactly what would happen if she did — that she would be psychologically and physically harmed.

The operation to find the 12-year-old seemed disproportionate and extreme. For over a month, police visited and searched twenty addresses and attended the mother’s home up to four times a day in search of a young teenager. In the girl’s own words, they were “hunting me down like an animal.” I have never heard of such an intense operation over an innocent child. Did they consider the past IVOs protecting the mother and children, or the family court orders?

One can only imagine what the father reported to justify such an operation. Yet in her diary the girl writes, with crystal clarity:

“She [my mum] hasn’t done anything wrong to me or anyone… She is the most beautiful woman in the world.”

After more than four months, authorities finally located her — an iphone had been seized from a locked car, phones were being monitored and AirTags had been placed on the mother’s car. So the young lass was apprehended, left in a divi van, held at a police station for six hours, and given about five minutes with a Department practitioner. Instead of assessing trauma or safety concerns, she was treated as an offender.

She did not know where she was being taken to, so when her police escort began to leave the police station, she saw her mum waiting at the gate. The girl escaped from two officers in the backseat, over the front seat and leapt from the car, and ran — ran to give her mum one last hug. Her shirt was ripped off in the struggle.

This 12-year-old girl — who harmed no one and whose only “crime” was trying to stay with the parent she trusted — was arrested and then taken to Secure Welfare in Maribyrnong. The contrast is stark. A violent 15-year-old repeat offender in Victoria — charged with car theft, armed robbery, and threats to kill — was granted bail and allowed to holiday overseas.

This young lass, on the other hand, was detained in Secure for 61 days, despite the statutory maximum being 21.

The video below, filmed by a friend of the family was posted on the police Facebook page just before she was taken away. I have added subtitles, and blurred her face for privacy.

To be continued…

I want to thank those people who donated to the xyz family. You know who you are, and it helped at the most critical time.

  1. Absolutely shocking. I am not surprised. IVOs are used as weapons and children are never listened to. I can tell you a similar story, but what are they actually locking her up for? And why was she kept in detention for so long?

We’ve come to expect this treatment of children. Punish them when they speak out.

    • Dee,
Seems that GS was disappeared for the day
Welcome back onto the information net and technical problem’s resolved.
For the rest just go to real Mary today at BIN and catch up…. If you are game and can face reality

    • No she did not.

This is only the beginning of the story. It get’s worse from here.

In a recent letter to the gov, I wrote: “I challenge the Department to produce a single Australian precedent with behavioural evidence as unambiguous and compelling as [this girl’s]. Her repeated acts of self-preservation — her relentless efforts to reach and remain with her mother — stand as powerful exculpatory evidence. Yet she has been punished for precisely that conduct”

  3. I note a couple of new commentators contributing
For years I have been referring to Michael King at. Beforeitsnews.com people powered news and been ignored
In the discussion today there is discourse comparing the complete distinction between how the msm fake control system ran the globalist narrative prior to the world wide internet discussion now apparent within the internet comradely calling bullshit..
Now.the ‘citizen journalist’s’ have come to the coal face and were honoured at Mara Logo in the past week.
That is why we are here thanks to Dee and gumshoe news.
Get on board and contribute, inform and swing your brick bats with facts, claims, speculations, theories and whatever.
Dee has a fun club at GS.
Some pussys run off the field, who cares, they have been bowled.

King and others report that the ‘citizen journalists’ had a great piss up at Mara logo and met with like minded.
Please listen to the banter in the discussion covering current events.
Must be clear, the msm now have a contest.
GS is part of the old propaganda lying control system and we are nanny.👵

    • Oops grammar stuff up.
GS is NOT PART OF THE OLD PROPAGANDA OLD LYING SYSTEM .
GS is part of the new ‘citizen’s journalist’ truth system.
All hands needed; stuff the old world of MSM manipulated deceit.

  4. I refer to my comment above posted at 1138 above relating to CITIZEN’s JOURNALISM’.
I reserved on Dee’s report till this morning to assist as. A citizen.
I am aware via discussions with Dee generally about the matter reported.
Being retired and in a different state but with my local stories and court appearances there was little I could pine on, as jurisdictions vary to some extent and one has to be careful not to place someone on a risky track.
So I just make this observation that may assist a ‘citizen journalist’
There are references to the three victims.
    Well there are other victims:
    Our social cohesion.
The authorities who have to drag children from a parent in circumstances outlines.
Some police officers have children. At times that attend many disasters and have to cope, eg a dead child splashed across a pedestrian crossing🙀
Some one will grieve and another arrested.
In such circumstance the television, msm, radio jokes scream and yell and flowers laid by citizens.
Yep it is a great media circus that lasts till the end of proceedings.
BUT: not a word be spoke by our ‘professional journalists’ on this matter, where grief abounds. Well it is not newsworthy🤷‍♂️ OR THE POLITICIANS JUST DO NOT WANT IT TO BE SO! WHY, because the arsehole of a relevant minister has no empathy and is too gutless to carpet those responsible, being the bureaucrats and even the judiciary that enables such misery.
The RESPONSIBLE MINISTER DOES NOT HAVE TO WORRY, THE MSM WILL NOT REPORT IT. THAT May well BE THAT THE MINISTER ENSURED THAT THE MEDIA CANNOT DUE TO RESTRICTIONS THE MINISTER ENJOYS WITH ALL THE REST OF OUR PARLIAMENTARY REPRESENATIVES. SO NOTHINGVTOBSEE HERE, ALL FINE TRUST THE BUREACRATS AND COPPERS. After all in recent years if you were having a barbie on a roof top the copper helicopter came in lie and ordered all on the roof top and report to the coppers at the front door of the building no masks! You’re arrested and so on.
That crap disappeared when enough said ‘piss off’. The citizens won and we went back to the flu.
Anyone not with the point being made?
TELL THE CONTROL FREAKS TO ‘PISS OFF’ out of their cushy bunkers pretending to care for us and our children.
    Bring in decent representatives.
Lastly, we spoke of victims, I mention another that is personal to me. Who would that be?
    Try………. DEE MCLACHLAN.
SUREKY, I do not have to elaborate? Think of the copper at the pedestrian crossing.
Not drafted, not edited, nor re-read; IT IS -AS IT IS.
    ENOUGH🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

  5. I will try put some perspective in this case. Imagine locking up a parliamentarian for one night in a secure facility for a non criminal deed… like fleeing domestic violence. I note the fuss in the newspaper this morning. Yet getting locked up in semi solitary for 61 days. Beyond comprehension

  6. Classic GSN’s
The missing justice is, just that.
    What isn’t missing is Dee.

“Small mercy can be a great thing, in your hand or more importantly a rare trusted hand”
    Simon 2025

  7. “those letters usually vanish into the bureaucratic void”. — Dee, remember we used to call it “The Cringe.”
Then Bob Hawke clinked champagne glasses with Alan Bond and we weren’t supposed to feel cringey anymore.
But really, Australians became more cringey, as did my American brethren.

Eff the Cringe!! Eff the Cringe!!!

  8. I read this with a knot in my stomach because I lived not as dramatic but a similar experience.

I too tried to “not inflame” things. I wrote emails, pleaded to anyone that would listen. Silence. What hit me hardest was the “undisclosed location.” A basic human right of a child is to feel safe with the parent they trust. The most painful part is that when a child tells the truth but the opposite happens. Good description about orchid.

The saddest part is that the children who speak the loudest about their safety are often the ones punished hardest for it. And that should terrify everyone.

  9. Fascinating indeed.

In the heart of eastern Turkey, nestled around Lake Van, are the ruins of a highly sophisticated, megalithic civilization that most of the world has never heard of…

Ancient sites that contain sacred symbols like the sun cross, triptych doorway motif, tree of life and chalice – all of which are highly important to religions and cultures across the planet. Could this new evidence finally help shift the old narrative of history and prove, once and for all, that humanity has a lost chapter of its story that we have forgotten?

  10. Child trafficking at its finest!!! This is seperation of family!!! It is abusive and they all profit from doing so!!! Such shame!!!
Well written Dee amazing work in sharing their story!I hope the mainstream media get hold of this and actually give a damn.
