Degrees of Pure Evil

Today’s papers have covered the totally sickening and brutal beheading of journalist, James Foley by IS. This is pure and simple Primitive Evil. This kind of retribution and aggression has been used for thousands of years.

What makes it so grotesque is that it is so PERSONAL – and Foley was obviously  fine person. It is interesting to note that one Westerner has created such a media storm – when thousands of Syrians and Iraqi’s have probably recently already met the same fate. So I wonder if there is another agenda in all the publicity. So on the evil scale of 1 –  10, (and remember 1/10 is still evil) I would classify this horrific act of pure evil – this beheading as 7/10.

The next on the list is Techno Evil. This kills far more people – and has a sickening quality as it can become a ‘television attraction’. You don’t see any bodies – just blurry images before the BOOOOM – big white flashes, and then you know lots of people probably just got blown to pieces. The great thing is you don’t see bodies. It is very impersonal, so you can go and kill more people without too much fuss. Innocent civilians are just called ‘collateral damage’, and this action can be used in a legal or an illegal war. This gets 8/10.

The next degree of evil is the killing of children – over and over and over again. This is Primary Evil and gets 9/10. Recent example – Gaza. And Gaza. And Gaza.(I declined to post one of the many horrific graphic images available, as it makes me feel physically ill)

What tops this list is Deceptive Evil.  Create an uncanny deception – a brutal mass murder (maybe even on your own people) – and then blame it on someone else. And there is the potential to profit on this action too. Example: The World Trade Center twin towers and Building 7 on September 11. These three buildings were “demolished” by sophisticated explosives. This photograph is like a fingerprint – showing the supposed ‘collapse’ as a result of fire (and plane impact hours before). But here tons of building material are being EXPLOSIVELY propelled out SIDEWAYS (even upward) for hundreds of feet – defying all gravitation laws of a collapsing building.   This gets 10/10.

And by the way, the lid on 9-11 is bound to blow soon as the evidence seeps into mainstream consciouness. A new documentary film ‘Anatomy of a Great Deception‘ is about to have an all star premiere in Detroit on September the 5th.

Along the way, Richard Gage (AIA),  Ed Asner and Omar Sharif became supporters. “This is a tremendous film,” said actor Ed Asner. “This is a very compelling film,” Omar Sharif, Actor, Lawrence of Arabia. “It will open many people’s eyes”. The documentary is in negotiations for domestic and foreign distribution.

Evil comes in many disguises and forms. Do we have the stomach and will to combat these evils?
