Move To Ban Roundup in Sydney — We Warned You 4 Years Ago

by Dee McLachlan

Residents of Sydney woke up this morning with an article in the Sydney Morning Herald, entitled: “Sydney councils move to ban Roundup weedkiller over cancer fears.

“Australian law firms are investigating legal action on behalf of people suffering from cancers linked to exposure to weedkiller Roundup, as Sydney councils move to ban themselves from using the chemical. The looming class action threatens to open the floodgates to millions of dollars worth of claims against the manufacturer of the popular weedkiller.

“In a landmark US court verdict last month a couple were awarded a record $US2 billion ($2.9 billion) after a jury agreed Roundup caused their non-Hodgkin lymphoma.”

Our 2015 Warning

One of our reader/contributors in Sydney alerted us to Roundup being used by the council back in 2015. We published the article “‘Round Up’ In Sydney’s Hyde Park vs Immediate Ban in Sri Lanka by New President,” on May 26, 2015.

The article focused on the various countries that had banned the pesticide, including Sri Lanka, the Netherlands, Russia and Mexico.

These photographs were taken in May 2015.

Gumshoe then wrote a follow up article (2 July, 2015) to the Lord Mayor. We wrote:

“Lord Mayor of Sydney, Clover Moore, we understand the City is undertaking a 12 month smoke-free trial in Martin Place to improve public health, promote civic pride and focus on a healthier way of life. But on May 26 we reported in Gumshoe News that Roundup was being used at Hyde Park (near Martin Place)…

“Could you please explain to the readers of Gumshoe why Roundup was used in Sydney’s parks and gardens. Researchers all over the globe have identified Roundup as a dangerous poison, and even WHO now suggest that Roundup weed-killer – glyphosate – is probably carcinogenic.”

How many people in Sydney have suffered as a result of Roundup being used after 2015?

This is just one small example of the the ignorance and apathy of those in positions of authority. The $US2 billion ($2.9 billion) Californian case should be a warning to governments and councils regarding other dangers.

We, and many others, have been warning authorities about the 5G roll-out. If some scientists are right, 5G will make Roundup and Asbestos look insignificant in comparison.

  1. The lack of understanding of the natural law principle of cause and effect is man’s folly.
An effect always follows a cause but they may be separated in time by long periods.

Imagine if one was to strike ones finger repeatedly with a hammer but the sensation was delayed by a year, what would the finger look like after a year?

These artificial things like Roundup must be in harmony with nature or the consequences may be most unwelcomed.

  2. At last an official office is taking note of a danger that has long been known. Probably the only reason notice has been taken is not because of the danger, but fear of prosecutions brought by members of the public, whose lives have been ruined. Financial ruin is the dread.

I am glad 5G has been mentioned in this article. Smart meters (digital meters) attached to houses can also be a cancer causation, as well as other health issue negatives.

I personally found out that even though Western Power’s grid is not set up for Smart meter use yet, they are replacing analogue meters because of age. However, no more analogue meters are being produced, so the excuse to place Smart meters in the meter box.

Income revenue over public safety, every time. Those at the top don’t even care about the possible annihilation of the Planet. Yet these same types rail against what they say Hitler’s plan was for the World. (Complete lies!)

  3. How’s Monsanto selling “on market” back to Bayer(IGFabien), just in time for all the law suits organo’ phosphate style(mix a lil agent orange).
Thinks a more hideous thing has is waiting in the wings if history gives any foresight, and the decades it will take for the new paradigm to “switch”. I predict a organic DNA based completely biodegradable “solution” to fix what ailes us currently.

  4. Ban this evil substance worldwide and get these stupid and greedy Australian farmers to stop using this cancerous poison. Hit them where it hurts and stop buying anything glyphosate.

    • Getting rid of Monsanto doesn’t, of course, have anything to do with eliminating the production/use of glyphosate. And the agricultural structure of the Age is, in fact, a much deeper issue than both of them put together.

  5. Ok, to be serious.
Anyone recall how James Hardie, the abestos people transfered their company to Sweden or some similar location.
Then left a a pittance to compensate their victums in Oz, like Bernie ???? (Bandt?) (Rip)
Now we have Bayer buying out Monsanto, the round up people.
    I smell a James Hardie.
    On a personal note.
Some years past after the original gs article and my entreaty to Clover the Lord Mayor of Sydney, I was sitting on a bench in Hyde Park Sydney.
    In short:
A young fellow approached spraynig with a back pack and i asked if it was round up. Yes he said.
I commented that he should not be bringing that near me.
I surmised after conversing that he was a backpayer from N Europe and on a limited viza and would have no hope of connecting his presen activity to any future medical problems, if they arose.
I explained to him that he was spraying Clover’s round up and should document all, as he would depart the country and if affected by the city’s weedkiler that he would have no hope in the future of proving any ill affects, based on his employment by Clover.
Let us not forget that I took the photograps referred to in this article, I wrote to Clover, who I know with husband Peter Moore and received bureacratic bs in reply which I binned.
    Good one Clover.
    Good one bureacrats!
Time for our reps to actually read their mail, do their job, be aware, trust comrades and use their half of a brain to trust a friend, merely wishing to help.

    .

    • Oh, by the way, wrote to a state MP on the subject,, a niece of my spouse.
      Guess!
Not even a acknowledgement of my e-mail.
Politicians! All the same, a pain in the arse, especialy when one has to be mute, as a courtesy, when we have to put up with them on family occasions.

      • Yes, you guessed it, a labor hack and serial labor polly staffer, who never earnèd a existence out of their sheltered labor workshop.

  6. We’re all chooks in a cage here . They made agent orange in Meadowbank , now they’ve built a city of apartments surrounding the site . Thirty years after commercial fishing was banned in the harbour .

  7. In 1986, wind-change caused some blow-back of Roundup on my shin, which I immediately washed off. A few weeks later, my local GP identified a dry pimple as a cancer and talked me into cutting it out and getting it ID’d by pathology. Yup, squamous cell carcinoma.

In 2014 another blow-back had to be washed off. A few months later a litle dry mountain apeared and the skin clinic recommended surgical removal. I later realised it was on the same site as the previous removal.

Several of my clients warned against surgery and recommended black salve; advice which, followng exhaustive research, I followed. 12 days later the cancer fell out, and reapplication of the salve ensured no return. I have used it several times since with equal success.

Mary alerted me to 18 distinct cancer cures and a book by American Ty Bollinger lists more.

My point here is that we encounter thousands of carcinogens and yet the mediial mafia, in cahoots with the chemical/pharmaceutical mafia uses only three highly unsuccessful treatments (but no cures) because these treatments are profitable.

I repeat, surgery (unless massive and accompanied by plastic surgery), radiation, and chemo do not cure. And you usually die within 5 years from the treatment.

Back to the glyphosate racket… I observed a contractor in the tiny town of Batchelor NT, using a motorised fire hose to spray gallons of glyphosate around the residential nature strips where Aboriginal toddlers play daily. The local council just shrugged away my objections.

Quenstion: at what point does this become murder?

  8. I just composed a long sad account of the death of a friend and a how his widow later realised what killed him ……. roundup on the hobby/holiday farm.
    And his bees!
    Now see.
    SMH today page 6.
‘Weedkiller cancer claim goes to court’.
My composition ‘timed out’ and I am not going to redo the whole sad comment.

    • For clarification. The smh report does not relate to the above.
The real death toll and the victims will never be known and the people responsible will retire on the profits of the early miserable painful deaths.

  9. Good news, but as the respective hazards have been known since day one seems like it has more to do with politics than justice.

Let’s face it, that’s the case with most court outcomes. If you want to beat the scoundrels you need to wake up to the fact that appealing to reason is like putting pearls before swine.
