The Hajj Stampede, Part Two: A Plot against Iran?

My previous article today mentioned the report of Dr Fawzi from Egypt. He says he saw many patients in the Jeddah hospital suffering from amnesia. He floated the idea that this was caused by a gas used on the people during the stampede. I am unable to comment further on that. Here I cover the other accusation that has been made. It has to do with the disproportionate number of Iranians who died in the 2015 Hajj – and the peculiar number of Iranians who are missing.

I am not able to verify how many died or are missing, so I do not know if the Iranian accusation is well founded. But I will state what is being claimed – that the Saudis and Israelis together arranged that some members of Iran’s Intelligence agency would be kidnapped while on Hajj. It is further claimed that the stampede was ‘made to happen” in order to cover up such a kidnap.

Miscellaneous Reports as of October 1, 2015:

  • The Times of Israel reported that 464 Iranian pilgrims were thought to have died in the stampede near Mecca last Thursday, including the senior Iranian diplomat and former ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi.
  • A Nigerian official told the BBC the bodies of 1,075 victims had been taken to mortuaries in the city of Jeddah – higher than the official toll of 769.
  • PressTV and an Iranian official estimate an overall death toll of 4,173.
  • Awdnews reported that Saudi and Israeli intelligence agencies have probably collaborated to abduct IRGC commanders, diplomats and staff working in Iran’s Supreme Leader’s office. (The acronym IRGC stands for Islamic Revolution Guards Corps.)

Sinister Stuff at the Hajj?

The alternative website Beforeitsnews.com carries the major story so far. I quote it:

“… (Mossad) cooperated with a Saudi Prince, who drove his entourage out in to the middle of the crowd at the Hajj, where there were millions of people. His entourage then had 150 heavily armed guards draw their weapons on the crowd and at that time, they threw canisters of poison gas (presumably the extreme irritant Carbon Sulfide) into the crowd. This caused a stampede, where thousands of people got crushed to death. In the mayhem, the Israeli Mossad kidnapped approximately 225 prominent members of Iran’s government, a number which included most of the key advisors to Ayatolla Kahmeni and many of the key people in Iran’s missile defense program.”

On Fourwinds10:

“Emperical evidence strongly indicates that the Saudis gave Israeli Mossad full access to the Hajj biometric system and facial recognition systems to help them bag Iran’s government… The former Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, Ghazanfar Roknabadi, is also believed to have been kidnapped in the deadly stampede. Mr. Roknabadi is a prominent member of the Supreme Leader’s office staff and a figure who is well informed regarding the secrets of the Hizbullah missile armament by Tehran.”

Let me quote Nigerian Watch , as the Nigerians are also complaining that 64 of their people are dead and 244 still missing. They allege that Mossad, with assistance of the Saudi’s, created the stampede at the Hajj in order to kidnap key people in Iran’s government – as an intelligence gathering exercise:

“European intelligence agencies have suggested that Israeli foreign intelligence agency Mossad may have perpetuated the recent stampede in Saudi Arabia to enable it abduct visiting Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) commanders.”

Is there any merit in the claim? Of course I do not know. Readers of Gumshoe are aware that I am in the habit of beating a dead horse – I believe it to be a live horse – in regard to the well-planned destruction of nations in the Middle East. Retired US Army General Wesly Clark admitted in a Youtube interview that the Pentagon, back in 2001 had listed the countries it would destroy —

“starting with Iraq, and then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and, finishing off, Iran.”

For that reason alone, I am open to the idea that the US or NATO or Israel has an eye for destroying Iran. One way that this could be done is similar to the way the US justified its attack on Iraq in 2003. Namely, it said that Saddam Hussein had “weapons of mass destruction.”  Recently Bibi Netenyahu spoke gravely to Congress about the dangers of Iran’s nuclear program.

bibi10

I reported his appalling address to a joint meeting of Congress, earlier this year, where he said:

“Iran is busy gobbling up the nations.” (APPLAUSE), and “We must all stand together to stop Iran’s march of conquest, subjugation and terror.” (APPLAUSE)

“…the greatest dangers facing our world is the marriage of militant Islam with nuclear weapons. To defeat ISIS and let Iran get nuclear weapons would be to win the battle, but lose the war.”

Proxy Wars

We should be on the lookout for proxy attempts to destroy Iran.

On the 1st of September, a headline in the English FARS News Agency: “Commander: IRGC Fully Ready to Confront Proxy Wars.” A commander of the IRGC (Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps), Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari (from Tehran) said, “The IRGC has come with all its power to confront the proxy wars and opponents of the resistance front and it has (special) plans.” The Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan blasted the US for hiring the ISIL terrorist group to fight proxy wars against the regional states.

Ali Asghar Fouladgar, the head of institute for IRGC strategic studies is one of the persons currently identified as missing in the Hajj group. Other members of the group who are missing are: Hussein Danesh, Fo’ad Mashghali, Ammar Miransari and Seyyed Hasan Hasani.

I am carrying the two ‘conspiracy’ stories here: the use of gas at the stampede, and the suggestion that the stampede was deliberately caused. Yet, as stated above, I am not able to do anything more about investigating them.

hajj securityThe CCTV network to oversee security during the event.

It would be interesting to find out whether there were the CCTV cameras on those streets, and if they were, whether they were operating or not. I would bet that if there were, those cameras were probably not operating that day (like the Pentagon cameras on 9/11).

I offer another observation from this screen-grab (below) – from a Sky News report. As soon as the camera swung around, this man with a green surgical-type mask, quickly dropped his head, so as to not be “visible” on camera. Just looked odd to me.

  1. Per Oct 1, 2015 New York Times: “Number of Iranians Killed in Hajj Stampede Grows to 464” By BEN HUBBARD

BEIRUT, Lebanon — The number of Iranian pilgrims who died last week in a human crush near Mecca in Saudi Arabia has nearly doubled to 464, Iran reported on Thursday. The Saudi Health Ministry has kept the official toll at 769 dead and 934 injured, despite statements from more than 20 countries that, added together, put the dead at more than 900.
Iranian officials have complained that they were not granted visas to the kingdom and were kept from visiting their citizens in Saudi hospitals. Those criticisms were echoed by Indonesia, from which the largest number of people join the pilgrimage each year.
More than 20 countries from across Africa, Asia and the Middle East have reported having citizens killed in the stampede, including 83 from Egypt, 64 from Nigeria, 59 from Indonesia and 45 from India.

  2. We need reports on the BODIES, burials, retuned home, autopsies etc.!!???
Plus reports from the survivors on arrival home.
As the MSM people are paid, for their work, how about it MSM?

  3. Dee, could you find out if there were bar codes on the bracelet?
When I attended the Royal Show in Adelaide last month, the ticket-taker taped a paper bracelet around my wrist (in case I wanted to leave the park and come back in). I gave her no identifying info about me. So if I fell dead from the roller coaster (as Adelene Leung allegedly did last year), no one could have sent my body to the right place.
(I’m not referring to an encounter with St Peter. We all know where that’s gonna land me.)
But the Haji’s in your photo cannot have the kind of bracelet I had, as they surely wouldn’t be leaving the park and returning.
I assume their info was clearly marked. So all casualties could be sorted. How many Iranians? Why is there any doubt?

    • Mary, Proffessor An Naim will be bookmarked in my critical thinking kit. A delicious exposition from a Muslim perspective.

      • Thanks, Christopher. Years ago I was a Visting Scholar in An Naim’s Center for Religion and Law. You can ask him a question on just about any subject and you will get a stunning answer. He has a rare mind. I think you would like his book “Towards an Islamic Reformation.” It is a page turner, no kidding.
