  11. I always figured a first strike on America (or Australia) would entail the use of an EMP scenario. The societies have become so dependent on electricity that if the power was lost, the entire country would come to a standstill. There would be no need for a costly military invasion as the targeted society would consume itself in chaos.

    Of course, an EMP burst is a nuclear weapon. The first use of nukes would likely result in further nukes. – Enter the Chinese graphite bomb. It can accomplish much of the same result without the use of nukes.

      • I missed the ACT bit, but that doesn’t surprise me. That place in a sewer, whenever I visited Parliament House I always felt like I needed a shower. Corruption is EVERYTHING in that place, they don’t even make any attempts to hide it when you are there, it is all ‘pay to play’. The people are so rudderless in their morals/ethics/principles that they HAVE to have mental problems.

    Way back in about the year 1998-99 I was tracking the posts of the Gold Anti-trust Association (GATA). The Chinese were buying gold all over the world. They had some 200 covert front companies that were purchasing whatever gold they could get their hands on and then shipping it back to China. The gold would then be refined and cast into one kilo bars.

    A couple of the blokes from GATA visited China and ‘stopped by’ the refineries to see what was going on. The refiners weren’t under any NDAs to keep quiet and they admitted to refining the American ‘coin melt’ bars from Fort Knox. They also refined the German Bundesbank gold and recast the bars. Further, all the gold mined in China is NOT exported.

    GATA estimated that China had in excess of 20,000 metric tonnes of gold way back then. The estimates now are in excess of 30,000 tonnes. We won’t know until the SHTF how much they actually have.

    In Australia both political parties sold off Australia’s gold. There was (as I remember) 640 tonnes of gold in the Treasury. The clowns (Costello in particular) in Canberra referred to it as a ‘barbaric relic’ and sold it all at the bottom of the market. The last I heard the Treasury only kept 20 bars for photographic purposes. I expect those bars turned out to be gold plated tungsten and couldn’t be sold. The gold plated tungsten stuff started showing up under President Clinton and became a real threat to the gold trade. There were fraudsters even producing one ounce bars and that was back when gold was A$550 an ounce, at today’s prices it is even more of a threat. – Just a heads up if you are out purchasing gold.

  17. A big dip in precious metals today. I’ve seen this action many times before, forget it, watch the TREND. If you are interested in buying some precious metals, it may be the time to take advantage of the dip. – Not investment advice, just experience – your call…
