I still wonder where they have taken PJ’s young son. An AI image of a social worker leading a boy into the darkness. She’s holding a clipboard, so it must be all okay?
by Dee McLachlan
Around Christmas, I find myself thinking about the parents who are forbidden from having any contact with their children — and about the children who are quietly conditioned to believe that such separation is normal, or necessary.
I think of one mother in particular, whom I call PJ in my book. The sequence was disturbingly simple: she reported government corruption; they found her and forcibly removed her young son; then took her off to a psyche ward where a doctor labelled her as schizophrenic in approximately 20 minutes. And when she challenged this shaky diagnosis, the response was simple: “Oh, but don’t you want to get help?”.
In PJ’s case, they had to come up with something — having already removed her son. What followed was not medicine but institutional roulette: a pathology “spin-the-wheel” game — as there’s mental disorder suitable for every occasion.
Children’s Rights
How can this happen you ask? Children in Australia have all the rights in the world, but for them it’s an illusion. They only exist in ink: the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (Arts 3, 9, 12, 19); the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006 (Vic) (ss 17, 24); and child-protection legislation such as the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 (Vic).
In reality, their rights are decided for them. Their voices are often filtered, reframed, pathologised in some way, or excluded entirely from the evidentiary record. So…
Children do not lack rights in law; they lack listeners in power.
A Sense of Belonging
Over this Christmas period it is a time of “belonging,” and so this artilce is about a child’s “sense of belonging.”
Belonging is a cornerstone of childhood development, health, and social stability
Belonging is not a sentimental or abstract idea. It is a fundamental biological, psychological, and social need, particularly for children. A child’s sense of belonging — to family, kin, culture, and place — forms the foundation upon which identity, emotional regulation, health, and social functioning are built.
When belonging is stable, children flourish. When it is disrupted, the consequences can be profound and enduring.
From the earliest stages of life, human development is relational. Attachment theory, pioneered by John Bowlby and empirically developed by Mary Ainsworth, demonstrates that children require consistent, emotionally available connection to develop a secure internal working model of the world. Through repeated experiences of comfort, attunement, and responsiveness, children learn that they are valued, that distress will be met with care, and that the world is reasonably predictable. This is belonging at its most elemental level.
Crucially, this sense of belonging is not merely emotional — it is physiological. Secure attachment supports healthy development of the stress-response system. Children who experience stable caregiving show more regulated cortisol patterns, improved immune function, stronger executive functioning, and better emotional self-control. Neuroscience research confirms that early relational safety supports healthy brain development, particularly in areas governing emotion, learning, and social behaviour.
A large body of psychological and public-health research confirms that belonging functions as a protective factor across childhood and adolescence. Studies across education, psychology, and epidemiology consistently show that children and young people who feel they belong — in families, schools, and communities — demonstrate lower rates of anxiety, depression, self-harm, and behavioural dysregulation, alongside higher academic engagement and life satisfaction. Longitudinal studies indicate that a strong sense of belonging in childhood predicts better mental health well into adulthood.
In a way, this all too obvious.
Conversely, the disruption of belonging is associated with serious harm. When children are separated from parents or primary caregivers, particularly abruptly or repeatedly, the experience is not neutral. Children do not perceive removal as an administrative safeguard or legal intervention. They experience it as loss, rupture, and threat. The people who represented safety disappear. The child’s world becomes unstable.
How many times have I been witness to this? I have seen recordings and video of children being ripped from loving parents, and it is devastating and distressing. (Again, I want to remind readers that I am not referring to children from drug addicted or violent homes, I refer to children being removed from loving parents.)
Research on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) demonstrates that early separation from caregivers is strongly associated with long-term negative outcomes, including increased risk of depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, substance dependence, cardiovascular disease, autoimmune conditions, and reduced life expectancy. The mechanism is chronic stress. When belonging is severed, the child’s nervous system often shifts into a prolonged state of hyper-arousal or shutdown — patterns that can persist across decades.
Removal itself constitutes trauma. Attachment research makes clear that a child can be deeply loved and still be deeply harmed by separation. Love does not inoculate against loss. For children, safety is inseparable from relational continuity.
Belonging also plays a critical societal role. Children who feel connected are more likely to develop empathy, cooperation, and a sense of responsibility toward others. They are better equipped to engage in education, employment, and civic life. Belonging fosters social cohesion. Alienation fractures it.
Children who experience repeated displacement often internalise a sense of disposability.
Some comply outwardly while disengaging inwardly. Others resist, abscond, or express distress through behaviour that is frequently mislabelled as pathology rather than recognised as grief, fear, or protest. In such cases, the child’s distress is not the problem — it is the signal.
When systems intervene in children’s lives without preserving belonging — without continuity of relationships, culture, identity, and voice — they may satisfy procedural requirements while inflicting deep developmental harm.
Protection that severs belonging can become indistinguishable, in the child’s lived experience, from punishment.
A child’s best interests cannot be meaningfully assessed without considering “belonging.” To truly protect children, systems must understand what sustains them. And what sustains them — biologically, psychologically, and socially — is belonging.
I think of the many children that were removed from good parents, and wonder why? Why did the children’s court so easily disrupt their sense of belonging?
In fact, do the courts even understand “belonging”?
PJ’s son has never been allowed to see his mum, and her heart has been torn asunder. Off the righter scale in cruelty. I believe the South Australian psychologist knows that PJ’s son — on seeing his mum — would immediately reignite his sense of belonging. But then one hour later (after supervised visitation), he would once again be removed — and once again be retraumatized by being ripped from her. I’m determined we solve this matter as it’s untenable in a so-called democratic society.
Baron’s podcast
I was reminded about this topic by Baron Coleman’s podcast on Boxing Day, where he dedicated his monologue to the sense of belonging. It is a nearly 3-hour podcast, so I extracted a short section relevant to children in Australia. Baron describes an experiment about how people ‘lie to themselves’ in order to conform.
I don’t think we have any idea how truly devastatingly disruptive removing a child without proper reason can be on the child. I believe it forever changes the child’s future. Removing children should be the very last resort — as the laws and treaties prescribe.

This Part 8 of Dee’s “Missing Justice” series is the best part by far. Brilliant.

I think all members of Child Protection should go get their hip replaced a.s.a.p.

When is a responsible Victorian government minister or bureaucrat going to respond the Dee’s EIGHT ARTICLE ON THE CASE IN POINT AND GENERALy?
My bet: NEVER, possibly because they know that child abuse and cruelty is government policy in VICTORIA- a star in Australia with Melbourne as its capital. Overseas tourists should take note. STAY AWAY!
Same observations apply to every gutless member of the Victorian parliament and police force.

In due course it should go before the Royal Commissions.

I do believe the way politicians treat advocates, and treat children is the signal of how they treat the rest of society… basically with contempt. Anyone trying to do the right thing is a nuisance.
The system is so out of balance, it is difficult to fathom. But it became clear in Covid. A foreign “entity” instructed our government to lock society down, they then complied with the foreign requests to mandate a dangerous experiment on the population. Governments are so far beyond the reach of normal people; and those elected so swayed by the powers that be, one wonders whether there is an escape hatch from this prison matrix.
So much is being /has been erased.

Some of you may have noticed that the ‘silver squeeze’ has finally happened. Presently the price is A$140+ per ounce. After I did further research, this will be cheap in a few months, provided the metal does not reach ‘unobtainium’ at any price.
Clif High’s language analysis indicated that when silver prices rose, it would be the start of ‘Sci-fi’ world. His analysis also indicated a price of US$600, or at present exchange rates A$900. Here is his recent audio on the subject.
Terry,
Yes I noted Clif, but we are banging our heads against a brick wall.

I have not bothered to benefit them with most of my (and our) research time.
And I cannot pass on all the G5 stuff.

Ned, well we have been discussing this stuff for years. – Anyway, if someone stashed away some precious metals, good, but I’m more interested in food. Food is something we need everyday. I’ve got months of long term storage food stashed away. In fact, I bottled up a bunch of dried onions this morning. The next time I make a stew, I’ll just chuck in a handful of dried onions instead of cutting up a fresh onion.
Hopefully, I’ll be able to get down to the rifle range at Wingham next week and try out the lighter loads for my rifle. As I have aged I can’t handle the recoil and am now having ‘white flashes’ in my eye when firing. The recoil is disturbing my eyesight, so I have to reduce the recoil to preserve my eyesight. – Anyway, after shooting I hope to get to the market at Wingham and pick up some more FOOD. I may be able to get some more roo to turn into jerky. – I just do it, I’m an old Boy Scout, BE PREPARED.
I think I have mentioned this before, ‘Protect yourself, nobody else will’.

I bought a book by Arnold Schwarztenegger called “Be Useful”, a lot of anecdotes and stuff, I read about a chapter or two, it was a bit silly but well intentioned. I bought it for a teenager I know and I knew he wouldn’t read it but I made him read the back cover and keep it laying around to imprint the concept on his mind, “Be Useful”.
He is quite interested in some of what I say not least because I got him lots of Natto when his skin started blotching and blistering up all over from the injections.
