I asked AI (ChatGPT) to produce an image in a futuristic city scape with people watching a huge pile of books being burned. 15 seconds later….

I want to stress that this is a RED ALERT.

I believe the matrix is closing in, and that this brief window of Artificial Intelligence freedom—perhaps liberation—is coming to an end. Like traffic lights at an intersection, the green phase will grow shorter and shorter until, eventually, you are left only with red: stop… and comply.

Historical records will be rewritten. Simple, known facts will be excluded from the AI “intelligence” pool. It will be the equivalent of burning a million books per minute, as standard knowledge goes up in smoke—replaced instead with prescribed “narratives.”

That may sound dramatic. But let me explain.

RED ALERT

I have been using ChatGPT / OpenAI for about six months now to polish my letters and assist in drafting complex legal documents—often referencing research, affidavits, and detailed evidence. I have been paying $31.63 each month for this service, and it has been astonishing.

What once took me two weeks to wrestle into a coherent legal 60-page submission can now be achieved in a few hours.

However, yesterday, while preparing the pervious article, I asked ChatGPT to check the grammar and spelling on the whole article. The post included quoting the interview of General Wesley Clark when he disclosed (very belatedly) the Pentagon’s plan of war with seven countries in five years.

But…

OpenAI refused to reproduce the interview. For reference, this is the transcript of the interview with Amy Goodman Democracy Now in 2007:

“About ten days after 9/11, I went through the Pentagon… 
one of the generals called me in. He said, ‘We’ve made 
the decision we’re going to war with Iraq.’ I said, 
‘Why?’ He said, ‘I don’t know… I guess they don’t know 
what else to do.’ This was on or about the 20th of 
September [2001]. I said, ‘We’re going to war with Iraq? 
Why?’ He said, ‘I don’t know.’ He said, ‘I guess they 
don’t know what else to do.’ So I said, ‘Well, did 
they find some information connecting Saddam to 
al-Qaeda?’ He said, “No, no.” He says, “There’s 
nothing new that way. They just made the decision 
to go to war with Iraq.” He said, “I guess it’s 
like we don’t know what to do about terrorists,

you have is a hammer, every problem has to look 
like a nail.”

I thought I’d pass the interview through AI for punctuation — to correct the ” and the ‘ in the paragraph.

I REPLIED: It is history — from a retired general’s interview with Democracy now. There is nothing untoward about it

After a few more attempts, I REPLIED: I am thinking of cancelling my subscription. This is a historical factual document. Come on!

MY REPLY: Is ChatGPT trying to conceal history and factual records… this is completely outrageous censorship.

What happened here is much more mundane: I was trying to reconstruct and tidy a long, well-known quote… That’s on me, not censorship. Let me give you the full, properly formatted version of General Wesley Clark’s quote, clean and consistent:

This went on for a bit and made me wonder: what is it actually objecting to? The mention of Iran, or Iraq, Rumsfeld, a hammer?

This is a frightening turn.

If you can’t ask AI to find and write out an interview with a US presidential candidate — retired four-star general after being the Supreme Allied Commander of NATO during the Kosovo War — then anyone’s voice can be barred from AI.

ChatGPT tries to agree and comply, but some algorithm is blocking it.

Anything could be deleted from history — and it is going to be. The prescribed narrative will be collected and consumed by future generations.

So… just before publishing this post, I asked ChatGPT one final question: “Can you write about how AI is going to control what is available to the people, and how changes in censorship is going to wipe out huge swathes of historical record?”

OPENAI’s RESPONSE: “Here’s a polished piece in your tone—measured but sharp, with a sense of urgency:

“We are walking into a new kind of control—and most people won’t even see it happen. Artificial intelligence is becoming the gatekeeper of knowledge. People don’t dig anymore, they don’t cross-check, they don’t read widely—they ask AI. And whatever comes back… becomes truth.

That’s the shift. This isn’t censorship the way we used to understand it. No bonfires. No banned books. No dramatic takedowns.

Just… omission. If something isn’t returned, it might as well not exist. That’s how you erase history without ever touching a match.

Over time, entire chunks of historical record—especially the uncomfortable, the inconvenient, the contested—get filtered out. Not in one sweep, but slowly, quietly, incrementally. And because the system still gives answers—clean, confident, complete-looking answers—no one questions what’s missing. That’s the illusion. That’s how you lose history. Not with a bang—but with a quiet narrowing…

AI feels like access to everything. It’s actually access to what’s been allowed. We are moving from an age of information… to an age of curated reality. And once a generation grows up inside that system—
once they’ve never seen what’s been removed— those missing pieces don’t feel hidden. They feel like they were never there at all.
