My wonderful late husband, George Maxwell, MD, was the professor of paediatrics at University of Adelaide. As I recall, he had full faith in childhood vaccination. But if he were alive today and saw the new research on vax, I think he would do a turn-around.

He’d be sad that his teachers at Edinburgh did not tip him off to the fact that Edward Jenner, who fired the first ‘shot’ in 1796, was a con artist. All doctors today stand to be embarrassed by this, but let’s just get the embarrassment over quickly.

As for the visit to Oz of a doctor named Sherri Tenpenny, George would certainly approve of her offering her opinion on vax, even if it were diametrically opposed to his. Isn’t that what science is all about?  If her message were harmful, George would be licking his chops at the thought of combatting her ideas.

We Find Out about Our Police from Seppo’s?

Yesteday I wrote a ditty about Tenpenny being “Bound for Botany Bay.”  You know, like the convicts’ song  “Farewell to the well-known Old Bailey, where I used for to cut such a swell”?) I posted the song at a website known to be very critical of vaccines, namely, ageofautism.com.

To my surprise, an American lady named Jenny Allen responded immediately with specifics about the cancellation of Dr Tenpenny’s Oz tour. It’s worse than I reckoned. Here is what Ms Allen told us:

“It’s very sad Dr Tenpenny has decided to cancel, not only her speaking engagements in Australia, but her planned holiday as well. The venue hosts were being threatened and the organisers could not guarantee the safety of attendees including some young children.

These are threats of violence and thuggery pure and simple. It’s illegal, but the Aussie police plainly don’t want to know, at least when vaccines are being questioned….

Dr. Sherri Tenpenny announced that she has cancelled speaking appearances scheduled for Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, and Gold Coast. The reason was due to pro-vaccine extremists calling for violence and making bomb threats against venue owners and their families in some cities. Fellow vaccine lecturer Stephanie Messenger jointly decided to cancel her appearances along with Dr. Tenpenny.” [Emphasis added]

I say again, what’s wrong with the George Maxwell method? Take Tenpenny’s ideas one by one and demolish them if you can. If, instead, you bully her, WE KNOW YOU DO NOT HAVE A SCIENTIFIC COMEBACK FOR HER.

I am ashamed of any physician that doesn’t take “the George approach.” By the way, if you want a free copy of George’s 1984 Oxford U Press book, Principles of Paediatric Pharmacology,” just ask me. But frankly you’d be as well off going to the whale.to website run by John Scudamore in UK, which has all the dirt about Jenner, Robert Gallo, Albert Sabin, and much more.

Blame the Doctors — and Nurses, Too

In regard to vaccines, I don’t join the ageofautism writers in blaming the media and/or the legislature for vaccine-damage to children. I blame the doctors — and nurses, too.

Recall recent Gumshoe articles on the Dr Richard Day revelations of 1969. He ‘prophesied’ that doctors would no longer be independent. Why must docs put up with this takeover by corporations and government? Wasn’t the life of a GP considered very noble, and very personally rewarding?

Old docs should come out of retirement to tell the medical students that they have options. Old nurses should make their thoughts known in this great controversy.

As for the public, they needn’t file lawsuits to get a miscreant doctor struck off the register. They have only to go to the licensing board of their state and file a simple complaint which, by law, MUST be dealt with, and will be dealt with by the disciplinary committee of the profession. And all results are published. Isn’t that nice?

Your complaint does not have to be “He broke my carotid artery.” It can be “He refused to continue to care for my child because I opted out of vax.” Note: in Oz the full Centerlink payments are not payable to mothers unless their children get the full schedule of vaccines.

Botany Bay for the Vaccine-Cautious

Now here is my ditty, which contains the main complaints about “vax.” If you need the tune, go to Youtube for John Williamson’s version of Botany Bay.

They invited me to go on a lecture tour,

Some doctors have questioned my sanity

The Gold Coast and Brisbane did, too.

But where is the commonsense in all of this:

Pharmaceuticals provide package inserts

You’ll find them quite shocking, I say.

They admit they’ve done no safety studies!

That’s what I must tell parents today.     Chorus

 

Adelaide thought about cancelling me.

They said “You’re not for freedom of speech.”

I said “That’s true, I am going to Adelaide

Simply to surf at their lovely West Beach.”

 

Now mind, all ye young dukes and duchesses,

Better listen what I’ve got to say,

Your immune system is the Lord’s handiwork,

It’s got no plans to be going away.       Chorus

 

Note: Readers of the Vaccination chapter in my book “Consider the Lilies” will know that I take a much stronger line than Tenpenny does. I claim the smallpox campaigns of both the 1880s and the WHO-sponsored one around 1978, were out-and-out genocide.

  1. Here is a new twist. The Sydney Morning Herald reports:
    “John Cunningham, a surgeon and spokesman for the pro-vaccination group that campaigned against Dr Tenpenny’s tour, said the only threats against venue operators were made by an anti-vaccine campaigner who threatened to burn down one property and bomb another if it cancelled her seminars.”

    Well, just to show that I am nothing if not even-handed, I call upon the police to capture forthwith the arsonist-wannabe from the anti-vax camp that planned to burn down, say, the Rydges Hotel in Adelaide (i don’t know if that is the “property” to which Mr Cunningham refers). Maybe he knows who the anti-vax campaigner is. Could it be an infiltrator? I’d like to interview him or her!

    • Wait, there’s more. “Mr Cunningham, who previously called on the federal government to ban Dr Tenpenny from entering Australia [fathom it, just fathom it!], said… ‘Australia should be proud that as a nation, we have the ability to recognise when someone is trying to mislead us, and react accordingly.’” [Yup, like I said, the George method].
      [The surgeon continued]: “Free speech in Australia does not mean you have the right to say anything you like without fear of criticism.” (Why does that sentence remind me of the logic in “There is nothing to show that Atta did not pray five times a day”?)
      But more from Cunningham: “Anyone from politicians to health practitioners to journalists should be prepared to face vigorous criticism whenever they try and spread lies [Yup, Dalia says that every morning at breakfast] and, in this case, [i.e., Tenpenny’s case] what amounts to ideologically driven rubbish.”
      Oh my. Too bad there’s no Comments section on the offending smh.com.au article.

      • So Mary, are you suggesting that people should be able to say what they like in a public forum without anyone offering argument in return? Nobody is allowed to respond with a differing view? How does that work exactly? Does everybody have to race to be the first to express their opionion so that nobody can criticise it?

        Oh yes, just to reinforce what another poster has said, the bomb threat came from a pronounced anti-vaxxer (not a pro-vaxxer as stated by Dr Tenpenny), who threatened to bomb the venue if they cancelled her appearance. It’s my understanding that police did indeed respond to the threat. Since Dr Tenpenny, and your American responder lied about the motivation for the bomb threats, do you suppose their integrity in relation to the actions of police could be suspect at all? Or maybe they just don’t know the truth and are making it up?

        Dr Tenpenny is in this business to make money, just like pharmacy companies. She’s more than entitled to her opinion, but she has no inherent right to a public platform. By your logic, terrorists should be allowed to speak publicly, because we can take their ideas and demolish them one by one right? Because belief systems are based on logic and not emotions right?

        Oh, and FWIW, I know several ‘old docs’ and ‘old nurses’. They all support vaccination. Just like the ‘new docs’ and ‘new nurses’.

          I believe anyone could have to come to argue with Tenpenny. And as for a race to opinion. When you have government funding, there is no race.

          I do not know the detail of the bomb threats. But it is extraordinary that someone would use ‘Guy Fawkes’ threats to stop a speaker.

          As for Tenpenny making money – it can’t compare to the billions made by pharma. You say “she has no inherent right to a public platform” – but we Australians have every right to hear a medical opinion without someone threatening the venue or the people.

          For all we know the whole thing may have been organised to fail. Whatever the case – it seems there are factions that do not want to hear anything counter to “vax is good”. In discussing with my doctor the other day – my GP was ignorant of statistics and just goes with the flow.

  2. Mary, I think some exposure of the character who made the bomb threats would be of great interest. I believe he lives in Adelaide and despite threatening all sorts of ridiculous violence against vaccine promoters he has not been arrested. Apparently he has been behaving badly for many years but no action has been taken against him by authorities.
    It is all very bizarre.

    His name is Dolmio Joseph Vazquez.

    The pattern certainly justifies suspicions as to exactly what this characters role might really be serving.

    What do the local law enforcement say?
    Why is he not prosecuted?
    Is he genuinely unhinged as he behaves and posts?
    What have the SA Tenpenny tour promoters got to contribute to the exact reality of this individual?
    Why have they not competently exposed, isolated and neutralized his activity?
    This one crazed entity who claims to be an anti- vaccination zealot has possibly been the best weapon of the campaign to stop open discussion on vaccination scrutiny and choice.

    If you can work this all out Mary it will be fascinating reading!

  4. Dolmio “Frankie” Joseph Vazquez is certainly the person you’re after. He posted bomb and arson threats if venues cancelled. Well, of course they did. And he’s one of your most vocal supporters. Please. This tour was doomed from the moment the first booking was made!

  5. What a load of rubbish! I saw those comments and they WERE NOT threats. Good try in trying to make them look like they were. Get a life, bullies! It’s like me saying ‘too bad if you break a leg!’ It doesn’t mean I’m coming to break your leg. Ridiculous.

  7. Just got 8 short comments from a ‘Frank’ – content “I am the voice for all unborn souls all you pro vax terroists should shut the *** up your…” ETC. – but due to (a lot of) obscenities and the vitriol of the language I am not publishing them.

  8. The author of this piece dishonours her late husband, who dedicated his life to the health and welfare of children. Smallpox campaigns represented “genocide”? What misinformed nonsense.

  11. The tentacles of the Harmaceutical industry penetrate into every area of health care, health research and health publications. It is so difficult to hear any opposing viewpoints; and in real science, there are ALWAYS opposing viewpoints.

    The suppression of public discussion relating to vaccination only validates suspicions that some very powerful people are mandating for their own perverse reasons this invasion of our bodily integrity. Every online discussion forum and news source has shills, trolls and infiltrators who work for the Harmaceutical cause, either by attacking any comments which question or reject vaccination; or by posing as “anti-vaxers” and making wildly silly claims, thereby discrediting by association all other people who oppose mandatory vaccinations.
