I am a Republican candidate for US House of Representatives, New Hampshire District 1. This article gives a partisan-free view of the January 6, 2021 “insurrection.” The current hearings are conflating two separate issues. They claim to investigate what happened at the Capitol Building that day. Yet they make the assumption that the January 6th event came about because Trump instructed people to overturn the election.
Let’s first look at the election. In 2020, the presidential race went through the usual three stages — the primaries, the summer conventions, and a so-called general election on November 3. All of those are constitutionally meaningless, as the parchment gives “the electoral college” complete authority to choose a president. Article II, section 1 of the Constitution says that the President and Vice President shall “be elected as follows: Each State shall appoint, in such manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors…”
December 14, 2021 was the day prescribed for a meeting of the Electoral College within each state. Collectively, their decision as to who shall become president is final. The Electors of each state must put their ballots together, have them certified, and off they go to be opened on January 6 in a joint session of both chambers of Congress.
So Who Won?
Thanks to a problem with Jefferson’s election in 1800, the American people amended the Constitution in 1804. Amendment XII contains the procedure whereby the ballots of the Electors get opened ceremoniously by the President of the Senate (who is always the VP). So, on January 6, 2021, Mike Pence stood there while ‘tellers’ opened the 50 envelopes and counted the votes.
The states had already revealed their count, on the assumption that whatever happens at the polls on November 3rd, would be faithfully repeated by Electors on December 14. (Actually, in 28 of the states, Electors are allowed to vote for any US-born person age 35 and up, even if he/she had not been a candidate. So, there could have been a fly in the ointment, but there wasn’t.) To be a winner you need 270 electoral votes. Biden got 302.
Congress is allowed to challenge the Electors’ ballots from any state. The particulars are codified at 3 USC 15 (very easy to look that up). Briefly — a member of either chamber can stand up when the state is (alphabetically) called and say “I challenge.” One member of the other chamber must then co-sign, or the challenge fails. If there is a co-signer, each chamber must debate the matter and vote to accept that state’s electoral results.
The first two states, Alabama and Alaska, went smoothly but at around 1:30pm, Arizona did get a challenge from Rep Marjorie Greene, a freshman. (It was only her 3rd day on the job!) I believe it was at that moment that the Invasion started. All Congresspersons were sent back to their offices, and did not resume the count until 8pm. When they met again at 8pm, the impetus for challenge seems to have been lost, and all electoral ballots passed muster.
Biden Was Legally Elected
Personally, it’s not pleasing to me that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are in the White House. I don’t know how they got their popularity. In the NH primary (which speaks for only one state, of course), Biden came in fifth after Bernie Sanders, Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar, and Elizabeth Warren. In fact, Biden did so badly he was reported to be thinking of skipping a visit to the next primary — in South Carolina. And Kamala Harris had to drop out of the presidential race as her primary numbers were poor. Nonetheless, the Biden-Harris team was legally, constitutionally elected on January 6, 2021, like it or not.
This is the beauty of our republic. We won’t have a hand-over of power by violent means. The Framers of the Constitution gave the electing power to the states and there is no mechanism for higher intervention, other than via the 12th Amendment, which gives Congress a say. Sure, it would be annoying to let a cheater get through but it has happened many times. If the people get wise to it, they can impeach.
What Donald Did
Between November 3 and January 6, Donald Trump, as the sitting president, had plenty of chance to create a fuss over the iffy status of the vote count in Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Arizona. Many of us saw, on YouTube, the legislature of Georgia calling witnesses who made a credible case that ballots had been added, subtracted, and even shredded. Michigan, too, had hearings which I, for one, considered to be very sound in showing much cheating.
The authority of a president is no small thing. Trump could have alerted the nation to a serious issue — the hidden hand of criminals tampering with an election. But rather than turn it into a legal issue, our Art-of-the-Deal president chose to handle it behind the scenes.
It has been stated at the Insurrection hearings that President Trump put pressure on Republican governors to deal with their states’ allegedly unfair Electors. Pelosi et al are construing such action as criminal. I don’t think so. All elections are competitive. Everybody knows thar JFK got the White House because his dad did a deal with Mayor Daley of Chicago, and everybody knows that LBJ got into the US Senate with the sticky-fingered help of some fellow Texans.
Trump was saying that Biden cheated and that he, from the oval office, could act to save the situation before January 6. Well, he did not have sufficient political clout to carry it off.
The Invasion of the Capitol
As I said, the matter of the stolen election and the matter of the January 6 invasion of the Capitol shouldn’t be treated as a unity — they are separate. I wouldn’t be surprised if The Powers That Be (who are higher than either Party) staged the whole thing at the Capitol to teach Americans the frightening idea that a coup d’etat is possible.
It certainly looked staged. The doors were open. Capital guards let everyone in without even asking for ID. Clearly there was no need for the breaking of windows (Sandy Hook, anyone?). There was no need whatsoever for scaling the walls of the Capitol — you could walk up the stairs. I have to admit that my prejudice toward this being a false Invasion is clouding my view, but I will try to be fair.
The items that need to be addressed are: 1. Was the Invasion planned in order to influence the Ceremony of Electoral ballots? 2. How would it have been done — by general chaos or murder or exactly what? 3. Did most of the participants know what role they should play? 4. And lastly, was Trump the ringleader?
- Was the invasion planned to help Trump? The first thing I have to say, and have been saying for a year, is that if the invasion was meant to spoil the election of Biden, it had the opposite effect. I never see this mentioned in the press. On the day before, that is, on January 5th, a headcount of Biden’s opponents was taken. I recall reading that 139 members of the House of Reps planned to challenge one or more of the swing states’ electoral votes. Ms Greene did succeed in articulating her challenge but no other challenges took place — because the Horde of Vikings (or whatever) had landed.
- Was there a plan for specific violence? On the day after the event, we learned of several deaths. I mean we mis-learned of several deaths. Only one person died at the Capitol, a participant not a law enforcer. (But Wikipedia says “Four officers who responded to the attack died by suicidewithin seven months.”) The hearings say that Vice President Mike Pence was physically threatened by a group of the marauders that came within 40 feet of him. Well, he has not been called to give sworn testimony. Did any invader intend to murder Pence?
- Were the participants given a role to play? Who are they? I read in the independent press that the FBI (or similar) had gone to the homes of some participants to arrest them, and then kept them in solitary — solitary, what does that tell you — for months! Finally, they were offered a plea bargain: accept guilt for a small crime (e.g., trespass) and go home now, or hang around indefinitely for a trial. What would you do?
- Was Trump the ringleader? The hearings say that he ordered Pence to overturn the election at the January 6 ceremony. That is not credible. Sorry. I also don’t take his words at the outdoor podium to be incitement to breach the Capitol. I could be wrong, but that talk appeared to me to be innocent. As a Republican who gets umpteen emails from Party Headquarters, I never got a notice prior to January 6, 2021 saying “Please come to our event at the Capitol.”
The Mixing of Two Themes
The hearings ask whether Trump attempted to overturn the election and whether he criminally sponsored the invasion of the Capitol Building. They have established, by witnesses’ sworn testimony that President Trump, in the period from November 3 to January 6, did try to overturn the November 3, 2020 election. He may have asked Republican governors not to certify the Electoral votes. In one recorded phone call, we can hear him asking the Governor of Georgia to “find the votes I need.”
Well, what if the president knew for sure that Georgia had cheated? Would the nation want him to just lie down and take it? Don’t forget, one of a president’s distinct responsibilities is listed in Article II, section 3: “He shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.”
Three of Trump’s own DoJ appointees have testified that they told him it was not true that the election was stolen. (Jeepers, how did they know?) They advised him to drop the complaint. Also damming — but I do not understand why this happened — Rep Mo Brooks and some others asked Trump to give them a blanket pardon before his last day in office. Did they think they had done wrong? I don’t get it.
The bottom line of the mixing of two themes is that Trump appears to have been your basic cad who will do anything — anything — to stay in office. The hearings are giving the average citizen quite a spectacle of awfulness.
Mules, Dinesh D’Souza, and Adam Schiff
Dinesh D’Souza is the producer of a fine movie about the “harvesting of ballots.” It is called “2000 Mules,” and shows clearly, with evidence, how the 2020 election was stolen in Georgia and Wisconsin. At his website, dineshdsouza.com, Dinsesh entitles his 350th podcast “Kangaroo Court.”
He says that the Pelosi hearings are fooling folks, by making it look like there is a trial going on. But the essence of a trial, D’Souza notes, is that it has two sides. The facts are put on display for a jury’s inspection and tough questions are asked. But in a Congressional hearing, it can all be “for show.” Surely these Pelosi hearings are strictly for show.
Finally, to my tile for this article: “Is Adam Schiff the Real January 6th Insurrectionist?” It has occurred to me that Adam Schiff was the mover in Congress of the impeachment effort, and he is a star in the Insurrection hearings. I believe the impeach-Trump thing was an effort to make sure Trump could not get a second term in office. Similarly, the Select Committee wants to assure that Trump never gets back into the White House.
For this to be accomplished by a show trial, there would need to have been an Invasion of the Capitol, to make it work. If this show trial ends up discouraging Americans from thinking that they have a government worth saving, that could amount to an insurrection, I claim. I think somebody may be wanting to take away the government, the Constitution, the whole shebang.
The January 6 Invasion may have been a psy-op. I claim to have definitive proof that the 2012 Sandy Hook school massacre was a psy-op. We are good at psy-ops. (My book is called “Unreality: Sandy Hook Messes Minds.”)

Today’s announcement on Rep Adam Schiff’s Facebook page is: “GOOD NEWS: The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has announced it will pay for COVID-19 vaccines for children ages six months to five years old.”
It also says, referring to the Fourth hearing: “Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., asked Bowers to read one of his journal passages from December 2020 when he was asked to overturn the 2020 election results of his state.”
Came the reply from Arizona House Speaker Rusty Bowers:
“I do not want to be a winner by cheating. I will not play with laws I swore allegiance to with any contrived desire towards deflection of my deep foundational desire to follow God’s will, as I believe he led my conscience to embrace. How else will I ever approach Him in the wilderness of life, knowing that I ask this guidance only to show myself a coward in defending the course he led me to take.”

My take is simpler…
Trump was an outsider who realised that free trade had destroyed America. He knew there was only one remedy, scrap free trade treaties and rebuild American industry.

Then they blamed Trump for January 6, to ensure he can never stand again.
History will show this is exactly what happened.
By being suckered once again, Americans missed out on a President who broke with more than a century of tradition and actually made peace instead of war. However, each of those challenges failed to get majority in either house. Arizona’s got Senate 6-93, House 121-303. Pennsylvania’s got Senate 7-92, House 138-282.
Four other states got a “too-weak” challenge, that is, a rep signed by no senator co-signed.

Georgia’s 16 EV [electoral votes, by Rep Jody Hice (R-GA)
Michigan’s 16 EV, by Rep MArjorie Greene (R-GA)
Nevada’s 6 EV, by Rep Mo Brook (R-AL)
Wisconsin’s 10 EV, by Rep Louis Gohmert (R-TX)
If all challenges had succeeded, causing all the EV of the challenged states to be thrown out, 79 would have dropped from Biden’s total of 302 leaving him with 223, not enough for a win.
