Robert De Niro, one of the greatest actors of all time, was the star of Raging Bull (also movies like Goodfellas and Taxi). He was also one of the founders of the prestigious Tribecca Film Festival, which was established after 9/11 to help revitalize the lower Manhattan neighborhood.
On its schedule this year was the film by Andrew Wakefield: “Vaxxed: From Cover-Up to Catastrophe.”
But it seems the pro-vax contingent got in the ring and punched De Niro about — until he relented (or got a black eye). De Niro, who has a son with special needs, has now pulled the Wakefield film from the festival’s schedule.
Why the fuss? There are 1500 films screening at the festival and 300 people may have attended the screening.
The Festivals Facebook page quoted De Niro:
“My intent in screening this film was to provide an opportunity for conversation around an issue that is deeply personal to me and my family. But after reviewing it over the past few days with the Tribeca Film Festival team and others from the scientific community, we do not believe it contributes to or furthers the discussion I had hoped for. …We have decided to remove it from our schedule.”
Tara Haelle in a Forbes article entitled: Thank You, Robert DeNiro, For Doing the Right Thing For Autistic Individuals And Children, writes:
“…he has made the right decision in removing Vaxxed: From Cover-Up to Catastrophe from the Tribeca Film Festival schedule.
“Screening this film would have given a platform to misinformation and scientifically inaccurate claims about autism and vaccines.”
Has Tara Haelle seen the film? I haven’t seen the film so cannot offer an opinion on it. Surely if it presents junk science people will see through it.
Haelle in her article says the film will just “continue to frighten and mislead parents about the safety of vaccines.” So what is the problem with that?
We are constantly told by the authorities that “vaccines are safe.” But this does not explain why billions of taxpayer dollars have been spent to compensate families whose little loved ones have been severely affected or killed by vaccines. More than $3.3 billion in compensation has been paid out according to the Health Resources and Services Administration — which tracks payouts made via the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program. The STRONG reaction against Wakefield and the film demonstrates that we need to worry about something.
And parents are naturally concerned. Autism was decades ago rare (over 1:10,000), now a new government survey of parents (in the US) indicates that 1 in 50 school-age children have autism spectrum disorder (ASD). There is a general health crisis unfolding. And vaccinations may or may not play a part. There are many other factors, e.g., toxins, GMO, EMFs.
Andrew Wakefield is a Perfect Punching Bag
But maybe Andrew Wakefield, who seems a nice enough chap, is just what big pharma ordered. Wakefield may be just the perfect patsy to discredit anti-vax thinking.
From the moment he surfaced with a study from Guys Hospital in London – it unleashed the “Raging Bull” that is Big pharma and those behind pro-vaccinations. And by continually discrediting and punching Wakefield about — any other legitimate and honest researcher, or doctor will be reluctant to surface.
Screening VAXXED at the festival may have encouraged other researchers and parents to surface. But now the conversation has been pulled.
The agenda is STOP conversation that questions vaccination. There mere fact that this film has caused a stir, means now we will have to watch the film and pay attention.

Thanks Mary, I haven’t heard that song in a long time. It brings back some memories, like living in a flop house in New York City when I hitch-hiked across the U.S. to Europe.
Everyone I met on the road had their individual stories of why they had dropped out of the ‘consensus reality’. After interacting with the American dispossessed, I found the European street people easily to interact with – one of their own so to speak.

I know I shouldn’t say it, but I’m gonna say it: Andrew Wakefield is way too tame, way too tame.

Vaccines are a more logical choice than letting a virus loose on the population. The dispersion of the control mechanism is more easily directed at the appropriate targets.

Forget Tribeca, how do the other 318.9 million (minus 300) get to see the movie??
Also, going OCD on the author here, the movie was the excellent “Taxi Driver” (1976), not any of the crappy movies called “Taxi” made after that.
Time for parents to look around and examine reports on what the government wants to inject into their children.

At least ensure that the injection does not have aluminium and/or mercury included with aborted parts.
Bet the journos, especially at the Daily Telegraph, with kids are checking out the facts, but not reporting the facts and serious reports in their articles.
Checked the increase in autism rates lately? In Italy there are two reported cases in the Supreme Court finding that vaccinations caused autism.
Also check out how much is being paid out by the big pharmas in damage claims.
