It would be helpful for dissidents to absorb the fact that the law is prepared to do whatever is needed to fix the problems about which they are so concerned. As dissidents have awareness of many terrible things going on today– not just corruption but extreme wickedness – they might jump to the conclusion that a whole new system is needed, to set things right. No! No!

As this series of articles has argued, the big problem is power-without-accountability. But wasn’t the US Constitution laid out to deal with that? Why, yes it was. So what’s the hang-up? Ignorance of the Constitution, timidity in deploying it, and the fact that the legal institutions tasked with enforcing it are themselves rather hilariously corrupted.

We need to make power accountable. Period. If that’s not being done by the persons who are paid to do it, the responsibility falls to anyone who’s willing. You, for example. You needn’t act nationally, locally is best.

This article presents some well-established legal methods for dealing with wrongdoers, including the “personages” who have enough power to flout the law – those who have cornered the market on impunity, or so they think.

The topics below are: grand juries, the law of self-defense, the law of outlawry, citizen’s arrest, local truth commissions, offers of amnesty, citizens’ review boards and licensing boards, and anti-mutiny clubs.

In Part 8, I presented the law of treason and the law of genocide, as ways to deal with miscreants, but all those require a court’s cooperation. I also mentioned impeachment, but that requires legislative cooperation. I mentioned controlling powerful corporations via the Sherman Anti-trust Act, but that needs executive action. This chapter is about action that does not depend on government.

Let’s face it, government’s refusal to do the right thing is what has brought us here. Still, to make the roundup of remedies complete, I will mention some things that citizens could do with the help of any decent judge, or members of state legislatures. These involve nullifying unconstitutional federal laws, issuing writs of mandamus, and filing qui tam lawsuits or RICO suits.

Grand Juries

Per the Fifth Amendment of the Bill of Rights, “No person shall be held to answer for a … crime, except on the presentment or indictment of a grand jury….” As everyone know a regular jury is made up of laypersons. Jurors can ask a judge for information, but no judge or attorney can go into the jury room or guide their decision. It is citizen heaven.

The grand jury also should be citizen heaven. This is the group of 23 that looks at police complaints confidentially, and decides if charging the person with a crime is merited. In colonial days the grand jury had the chore of looking around to find crime or any troubles. It could still do so. Gradually the prosecutors, who work for a state’s attorney general, became the boss but this is unconstitutional (I think). It leads to “insiders” being spared from criminal charge list.

In 2017, in Massachusetts, a committee composed of two sitting judges, three retired judges, five prosecutors, three defense attorneys and one law professor was appointed to have a look at the grand jury system. That was the wrong composition, wasn’t it?

The Law of Self-defense

Clearly, we have forgotten about our right to self-defense. If someone is about to attack you, you can attack back, and you can do that on behalf of another person, too. The High Court of Australia put the common-law principle succinctly in the Zecevic case in 1987:

“The question to be asked … is whether the accused believed upon reasonable grounds that it was necessary in self-defence to do what he did. If he had that belief and there were reasonable grounds for it … then he is entitled to an acquittal.”

A century and a half before that, The Supreme Court of New South Wales ruled, in R v Elliott (1832):

If the Offender flees and cannot be otherwise apprehended, and is killed, it is in them [you, the killer] Justifiable Homicide, but in all these cases it is essential that a Felony should have been committed, or that a Hue and Cry has been raised.”

The long-forgotten principle of “hue and cry” needs to be resurrected. We should all be hueing and crying about the terrible things being done especially by our covert agencies, given that government officials always refrain from hueing them.

Citizen’s Arrest

Citizen’s arrest is not against law — it is law. Each of the 50 states provides for it. It is how every security guard makes an arrest – as a citizen, as he is not police. You can do it, but only if you have seen a felony committed, or can be sure that one was – or is about to be – committed. Don’t use force, and be sure to tell the person you are arresting him. Then call the police and ask them to come and collect him.

YouTube shows scenes of an occasional successful citizen arrest. It also shows botched ones or ones where the authorities bullied the citizen-cop, or even threw him in the paddy wagon — illegally. No worries, that action breaches the civil rights act.  (See below.)

The Law of Outlawry

To be an outlaw does not mean you have disobeyed the law. That makes you an offender, or once tried, a convict. The term outlaw means one whom the law can’t get ahold of. Maybe she is just an excellent escape artist. Maybe the town doesn’t have enough resources for police. Then it is an obligation on all to catch her, if possible. To harbor her or feed her makes you a criminal.

This law of outlawry came to America with the common law of England. A state may repeal it or modify it by passing a statute.  If a state has not done so, the law of outlawry is in force.

A Word about Common Law and Maxims

The common law of England was not made of legislation but was the body of ideas rendered in court cases. It is often used in our day as the basis for a judge’s ruling. It gave rise to general ideas such as the need for intention to be one of the elements of a crime, or the rule that a wife cannot (usually) be a witness in her husband’s defense.

There are more than a hundred profound maxims of law. A judge can refer to one, such as:

Gross negligence is held equivalent to intentional wrong.
The law regards the course of nature.
Let the punishment be proportionate to the crime.
Every ratification has a retrospective effect
He who cannot be known from himself can be known from his associates. (This is important in a RICO case.)
That which necessity compels, she excuses.

Local Truth Commissions

Maybe you can’t do this in China, but you can sure do it stateside.  You can use your front lawn, your kitchen, or a rented room in the town library or university library (either of which has a community obligation to rent that room to you) and ask persons to come to you with information.

There were famous Truth Commissions, in the 1990s in South Africa and El Salvador. Those two had some sort of official mandate but your mandate can come from your neighbors or colleagues.  The purpose of it is to allow person who want to confess, to confess — or persons who want to snitch, to snitch.

Naturally it is better if the proper (well-paid) institution does that job, but we can see that such things are not working today.  Maybe your effort, however humble, can be a way of demonstrating that the proper institutions are AWOL. I advise that your group not publicize its files indiscreetly and that you make no (impossible) promises of justice.

Offers of Amnesty

Your Truth Commission will not have the very handy powers that a court has – to demand that so-and-so show up, that such-and-such material be delivered (by subpoena necessary). And you would not be likely to have resources for a witness protection gig.

Still, we are not all cowed, are we? We can take some steps.  I recommend that you make a very tentative offer of amnesty to persons whose confession you take. It is reasonable to think that if all goes well, you will later be able to secure a real amnesty on his behalf.

Citizens’ Review Boards

There exist many citizens’ review boards and they have official standing. This is appropriate.  They are outsiders to government and can be critical.  The relevant maxim — against insider house-cleaning — is: Nemo iudex in causa sua. – you can’t be the judge in your own case.

(Why do we even bother to pay ‘Inspectors General, when they never (that I know of) take the crims to task?)

In Kansas there are five Citizen Review Boards that oversee decisions by the Child Protection Service – as well they might! I quote their pamphlet:

Volunteers meet as a group once a month and interview families and service providers and then deliberate in private before sharing their recommendations orally with the people in attendance. The presiding judge can use the CRB recommendations to make his/her own court orders.”

Licencing Boards

Some boards that investigate ethical breaches by licensed professionals (e.g., doctors, lawyers, accountants) already have laypersons on them. So here let me suggest not that you form one, but that you send in your complaints.  By law, they must be taken seriously. The professional person does not want to be disbarred, suspended, or even mildly reprimanded.

When did you last write to a licensing board about a player in the horrible games that you are aware of?

Anti-Mutiny Clubs

It is said that the amount of fragging that goes on in the US military is much greater than is admitted to – soldiers kill their officers. I am not condoning either fragging or mutiny. Rather I make the suggestion that soldiers, sailors, and airmen form anti-mutiny clubs.

The point is to have a safety valve for discussing illegal orders. The personnel would at least be able to say if they think they are at risk of committing a war crime or of following orders that are unconstitutional.

As for actual mutiny, I believe that if participants in the Vietnam War knew what we now know about that war, they would have done right to the United States by mutinying.

Nullification

That’s the end of today’s article’s focus on ways of dealing informally to insinuate your presence in the Forum. Now let’s have a brief reminder of remedies available where the government institutions have not been totally corrupted, and where you can demand assistance.

Nullification, which is hardly ever used, us a way for a state to reject a federal statute that it deems unconstitutional.  The prime examples, occurring early in the life of the Great Republic, were the Virginia Resolution and the Kentucky Resolution that made short shrift of the Alien and Sedition Act of 1798.

Today, a group aptly called The Tenth Amendment Center aims “to rein in overreaching power and increase liberty.”

The Center puts out a Nullification Handbook for your use. Some of its concerns are the Common Core curriculum in schools, and NDAA indefinite detention. (The gall of it!)

NDAA is the biannual National Defense Appropriations Act, into which Congresspersons sneak all sorts of tricks.

Note: the word nullification also relates to jury nullification. One way a community can say No to unwanted legislation is for members, when on jury duty, to render verdicts in trials that side with the defendant.

Writ of Mandamus

A writ of mandamus (Latin for “we order) is a court order to a government official to do his duty. It is very under-used. I think part of the reason many excellent provisions of the law go begging is that lawyers are motivated to help clients whose case will result in a win from which the attorney fee can be deducted.

Qui Tam Lawsuits

There is a pleasant way for a lawyer to get paid for helping an activist fight the government.  If the citizen sees the taxpayer being ripped off – say by a defense contractor – she can file a suit under the federal False Claims Act (some states have these Acts, too).

It is called a qui tam suit, based on the qui tam pro domino rege quam pro se ipso in hac parte sequitur, meaning “[he] who sues in this matter for the king.” You will be called the “relator” in the case. You may receive as much as 25% of the amount of the fine paid by the guilty party.

RICO Lawsuits

RICO is short for Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, of 1970, drafted by Professor GR Blakey of Notre Dame University Law School. (Anyone can draft a law and submit them to the state or federal legislature.)

This law is invaluable when a racket is taking place. The accused has to have participated in two crimes (from a set list of crimes) within a period of ten years. I recently filed a civil RICO suit, Maxwell v Federal Bureau of Investigation, et al. It cost me only $400 in Federal District Court as a pro se litigant.

I did not win, and you may not win, but if you don’t try you definitely won’t win.

Civil Rights Law

The United States has an amazing federal law to protect you from violation of your civil rights. It can be used for either lawsuits or prosecutions (such as for police brutality). It is codified at 18 USC 242:

“Whoever, under color of any law, statute, ordinance, regulation, or custom, willfully subjects any person in any State … the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or to different punishments, pains, or penalties, on account of such person being an alien, or by reason of his color, or race, than are prescribed for the punishment of citizens, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both;

“and if bodily injury results … shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results … shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.”

    • When he started up about the Magna Carta I stopped watching.

This is the accurate run-down re said advent I’ve come across:

        • I was taught in high-school that subsistence agriculture was uncivilised but I reckon the food security of most pre-magna carta peasants was probably a good deal better than what currently faces the average bod.

          • I expect the subsistence farmers of the Asian continent will do just fine during this plandemic collapse. They will continue to work their gardens and orchards, rice paddies, rat traps, fish ponds, chickens and pig pens. However, I don’t figure the ‘civilized’ cultures in places like Los Angeles or New York will fair that well.

          • Because of our money system, we are beholden to globalists.
Individual sheeples can get back on gold and silver if they want to.
But they want globalist digital currency.

  1. I apologise to my fellow Aussies that the reference points here are mainly US. It would make for awkwardness if I try to name the parallel Australian provision for each item. And for some there is no Australian parallel.

Of the 15 headings in this article, I learned only two at Adelaide Law School — maxims and the law of self-defense. Probably mandamus was taught, too, but on a day when I wasn’t paying attention. (There were many such days, as I was depressed from my husband’s death.)

I do seem to recall a teacher pronouncing it man-day-mus (where I, the little Catholic girl, would have expected mahn-dah-mus.)

But at Gumshoe I learned about mandamus, via Dee’s interview with Justice Michael Kirby. In regard to Martin Bryant’s case, Kirby pointed to a constitutional provision for the court to tell the government to do its job.

Oh what you can learn at Gumshoe!

  2. Unfortunately, according to the best authority we have, former constitutional law expert and MHR, Arthur Chresby, the only power the Australian Constitution gives we the people is the right to whinge to the Queen.

Constitutions were invented by the enemy, to provide us with paper swords with which to defend ourselves. No constitution contains the word democracy and no constitution has ever saved its people from abuse.

In a genuine populist democracy the people do not need a constitution because they are the power. We do not need protection from ourselves, much as elitists like to believe we do.

    • As the Crown is represented by the Fed & State Governors General
Who always respond to submissions by stating “I’ve no power to do anything”
It’s a matter of informing Him/Her like so:
      “I/We hereby affirm that the State/Federation has no legal right/jurisdiction to implement/enforce A, B & C”

That won’t buy anyone a nice tidy little “rights” package but the power of the spoken and written word should never be underestimated

    • Berry, I chose the one you listed as http://www.svgazette.com.au/nbn-wireless-towers-what-are-the-risks/

      It starts with:

“The response to our previous article about the proposed NBN Co towers which are planned for the Sunshine Coast hinterland area has been overwhelming – proving that local residents want information regarding the towers. Residents expressed gratitude for a newspaper article that presented the facts.” Maybe “what happened”” was corona distraction.

      • Those articles are just what came up when I did a search in Feb ‘18. It would be good to know what the outcome was

The ITNews link has 4 recent wireless-related articles on a side-banner but none them are about safety testing

  3. If you try to use the law against them they will change the law. The law system is part of the power system. Head of law in Australia is the Queen. Her favourite son is wanted by the FBI for questioning about connections to a pedo/trafficking ring. Look at Pell, you can just pay more and overturn the jury. All they do to suspend the law is start a mass panic about some false flag contrivance and install emergency powers.
The sheep don’t want to study history or law, they want comfort, consumerism, instant gratification, fast bucks and junk food.
But you already know all this.
The muslims for example are still taking the heat for something they were only framed up for, 19 years ago, such is the extent of their cultural brainwashing.
The Chinese just do everything by copying, on the mainland they are mostly parrots of the CCP. Chinese students here just copy and cheat, and the uni gives them degrees because they pay.
When they are employed in China they use the Asian “saving face” rule to fake it till they make it.
Their skill set is in copying and faking, which has worked ok so far.
In Western countries we have benefited from the best education but we are still collectively quite dumb and brainwashed. Cops and various authorities probably amongst the worst.
Did anyone notice the cops were a bit more tame lately since the eastern freeway incident, that seemed to get them thinking.
CCP is showing the way forward in Hong Kong. Just change the law, propagandise and enforce.
Get the money, put them in cubicles. Where are the vegans ! To save the sheeple !

  4. I first read about David Free on Neil Bricks S.M.A.R.T blog 8 or so years ago.
I did not know what I know now.

Recovery from Generational Organised Crime abusing Mind Control Programming (Gov/MC) at Australia
    Monday, 12 January 2015

“It is interesting that the public mass killing in Australia, by Martin Bryant in 1996 at Tasmania who “killed” thirty five people, has been documented by many as a case of a mind controlled assassin. Bryant was treated at the Tavistock Institute in London where I was threatened to be programmed at eight if I didn’t take notice of the handler. He was also being seen in Tasmania by a psychiatrist who was involved with the institute.”

    http://survivinggovtmcataustralia.blogspot.com/2015/01/the-perpetrators_27.html#comment-form
    MKULTRA

    • Diane, I have not yet watched the video, but I can say for sure that no matter how much Tavistock training Bryant got, he was not the shooter;

The shooter was a skilled marksman. At least one local who watched the shooting (not in the cafe but afterwards at the general store) and who was familiar with Bryant said “it was not him.”

Maybe Bryant was picked out as a child to be used later for “whatever.” I think he played a part at Seascape Cottage that day, and defo the next morning he emerged from Seascape on fire.

Dee started to make a movie about it but ran out of dough-dee-oh-dough.

      • ‘he was not the shooter; The shooter was a skilled marksman” a well known in disputable fact–I post things that for me at least connect the dots. It was David Free article that is relevant to this article-I saw the bit about Martin and copied it because it links him to the Tavistock Agenda cults hospitals generational MPD- and Dr Dax.

Military Mass Mind Control. MKULTRA in Australia.

  5. The pesky self evident things that need no debate nor concern. discussion fine ,conclusions inconclusive but again self evident, guess fine too. Roll like a jet occupant headed past le quadinia toward D.C (k sic, no homework, possibly too soon).
Bryant the perfect Manchurian, possible given the alleged contacts, but not hardly likely. Just saying cause he deserves to walk either way or any other(that could be imagined). A “cause” I have only seen defended here. Brave. Bravo

    • Hi Simon a perfectly clear statement. “Bryant the perfect Manchurian, possible given the alleged contacts, but not hardly likely. Just saying cause he deserves to walk either way or any other(that could be imagined). A “cause” I have only seen defended here. Brave. Bravo” Thank you for picking up.

Re your comment Mary–“he was not the shooter; The shooter was a skilled marksman” and my saying that this was a well known indisputable fact– perhaps it needs correcting to read The shooters were skilled marksmen, action cameras role- following the Tavistock script.

The Video puts it all in context.

  6. The U.S population is may fall by 70 % in the next five years .

Sound crazy ? Not so much if you read this article :

    https://www.lewrockwell.com/2020/05/no_author/70-depopulation-of-the-u-s-predicted-by-2025/

A few choice paragraphs from the article :

” Finally, we have a startling forecast ( refer to the table of stats in the article) from Deagel.com, a highly regarded military assessment and intelligence corporation that is known as a CIA-front company.

Deagel’s forecast for the U.S. is a decline in population from 327 million (2017) to 100 million in 2025, and a decline in Gross Domestic Product from $19 trillion to $2.4 trillion over the same time period, accompanied by a world decline in GDP of -$65-trillion.

That’s an unexplained -70% decline in U.S. population. What does Deagel know that we don’t know?

Either a lot of Americans are going to be emigrating or dying ” .

  7. Mary , in relation to my posted comment above , just in case you’re slated to be one of the 70 % , hurry on back to Oz .

You’re too valuable to be just another of Bill Gates’ scheduled cull of fellow citizens .

    • TV, what is the expected decline in Oz? Perhaps you can find the Deagel stats on Australia. I don’t know what they are, but another source said Australia’s population would decline by 50%.

I don’t know how reliable that source is, nor do I understand why Oz population would allegedly decline by 50%. If someone could get the Deagel statistics, they MAY be more reliable. However, how they came to that figure would be even more interesting than the figure itself.

    • Thanks, Troof, but if there really were an inevitable quota I would rather give my place to a youngie.

Speaking of which, maybe our culture lacks a way to instill it into a child that he is a Chosen one, as the Tibetans do with the Dalai Lama. I have just been reading a new book “Sparky” by Juliette Engel, MD, who was grossly MK-Ultra’d (Born 1949, the hot year for that).

She makes clear how important it was for her to have had the dream of becoming a doctor, even during all the spinning-on-tables and other mind-bending stuff.

She later helped trafficked kids — in Russia!

  8. Terry Shulze , Mary & a few others may relate to a lot of what is spoken about in this Paul Craig Roberts article ( even though you’re several years younger ) :

    https://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2020/05/27/where-did-my-world-go/

I am a generation younger than PCR (give or take) but I still remember when watermelon was 1 or 2 cents a pound , a sunny boy was 5 cents , the Daily Mirror ( a Sydney afternoon newspaper ) cost 10 cents .

    • From the article, “Perhaps it has always been true, but today if you live very long you outlive your world.” – yep, that’s where I am.

  9. Yes Terry , it would be interesting to know what is scheduled for Australia & how they came to those conclusions for the U.S .

At the moment I have no idea what Deagel’s projections are for us but I’ll see if I can look into it .

One thing seems certain though , IF they are to achieve their scheduled 70 % reduction in the U.S , COVID-19 isn’t going to do it.

Perhaps then, once this lockdown is ended they’ll introduce a new & vastly more potent virus which will achieve the desired cull .

    THEN , the Powers-That-SHOULDN’T-Be ( PTSB ) will say :

‘ See , I told you so. I told all of you to stay in lockdown until we said it was safe to come out of hibernation but you did not listen. Serves you right for not obeying us wise overlords ‘ .

Then we’ll all be PTSB’ ed .

  10. Go Karen – some good points and cause for encouragement – the fence won’t save them 🙂

Karen has made me aware of a March on Saturday, 30 May

Karen Brewer – It’s over Terrorist “Australian Government” & fake Judicial system

    • at 1.49 she says “there’s 837 Freemason Demolay pedophile-protecting politicians.”

The march is for anti-vax this Saturday. Go for it!

    • That Karen is very different to the “Karen” that is supposed to be the epitome of stupidity in some areas… much like “Alf” was the quintessential nitwit some 60 years ago.

Anyhow, I like that Karen even though (or perhaps because) she doesn’t pis fart around with politically correct “niceties”.

It might be opportune to say what the “Freemason de Molay” that she constantly refers to is. The de Molay is a Masonic boy’s club for youths between 12 and 21 years old where young men (with “connections”) are assessed and groomed for “influential” positions in society. It’s pretty simple… no endorsement from here and you’ve got Buckley’s chance of any socially/politically influential position.

Karen Brewer is delightfully plain in her appearance and style. I hope she’s not just another con-job leading good honest folk into another dead end.

  11. ‘ bg ‘ writes earlier today that : ‘ individual sheeples can get back on gold and silver if they want to ‘ .

Soooo , let me see . Terry Shulze ( & a hell of a lot of respected people in the know) , say that China has accumulated 20,000 tonnes of gold & perhaps a lot more .

( Bear in mind that even 10 years ago or so their official reserves were of the order of 1000 – 1500 tonnes so it’s all been accumulated recently ) .

Russia too has been accumulating gold & has several thousand tonnes (that it admits to – but likely to have more ).

So, bearing in mind that Gold costs about AUD $ 83,000 per kg , purchasing 20,000 tonnes ( ie : 20 MILLION kg ) , is likely to set you back a few bob & then some , wouldn’t you think ‘ bg ‘ ?

Whatever else you think about the Ruskies & the Chinese , there are some seriously smart people presiding over their discretionary expenditures .

Bottom Line : It is evident that the Chinese , Ruskies & Terry Shulze will NOT be among the sheeples .

There’s an old saying in the world of poker .

If you’re at the table & you look around & can’t figure out who the novice is that’s going to get fleeced , then YOU’RE it .

    I have news for you ‘ bg ‘ – YOU’RE IT !!

    • Orrite,TV.
I hope we’re on the same page. The idiotic notion that a Nation/society’s exchange medium should be determined or restricted by the amount of yellow or silver tin that can be dug up or stolen from neighbouring peoples is patently insane. It’s like saying “we can’t grow any crops because we haven’t got gold”. Rooly, rooly styoopud!

  12. Off topic but then again , the coming economic Armageddon heading our way is always of interest – seeing as the COVID hoax was engineered to distract attention from this coming financial apocalypse.

Nemesis would do well to pay attention to the following clip titled : ‘ Do the Maths – The U.S is an Insolvent Zombie Nation ‘ :

( Watch from 37:40 until the end )

It’s narrated by Peter Schiff who , in my opinion , is the best financial commentator in the world today ( who’s actually telling you the truth ).

No doubt there are smarter , financially more savvy people in the world today BUT they’re working with the cabal to destabilise the world economy – so they’re not in the habit of telling you how it’s going to unravel .

But former Ron Paul economic advisor Schiff is shouting it from the rooftops .

Nemesis , this is why your forecast that Trump will bring the U.S economy back to boom levels by early July (or anytime in the coming years ) , will come to nothing .

Yes , seeing as we have 25 % unemployment levels in the U.S now & some will go back to work in the coming months as the lockdown is unwound somewhat , Trump will crow how things are ‘ turning around ‘ just before the election as things appear to pick up from a ‘ low base ‘ .

Ignore it – the markets call it a ‘ dead cat bounce ‘ .

    ‘ bg ‘ , there’s something in it for you too .

It explains why the U.S economy & USD are doomed & why the corollary of that is a gold price that goes to the moon .

    • Hey! TV! Economy is the production, distribution, exchange and consumption of goods and services.

Stuff yourself with “a gold price that goes to the moon” and then tell us how your children are nourished.

      • “You can’t eat gold, yuk, yuk!” – Perhaps not, but it will buy you a LOT of beans. Many more beans than a fist full of worthless fiat money.

Cut your own path in life, it’s your life. Good luck

        • Uh huh. But a pile of gold will only buy beans if there’s someone with beans who’d rather have gold. Such a person would be a propper nutcase if everyone is short of food. Let’s propose an hypothetical to make a point.

Midas might think it a good idea to export every single thing we produce for gold but me… I think I’d go with the necessities of life and leave Midas under his pile of gold.

    • Truth – check out the recent NYSE rise of 7,000 points. Now I know that stock markets do not indicate a country’s economic wealth, but they do indicate that rises in times of ‘economic decline’ as some are predicting we are already in, goes against those predictions. In other words, we should be seeing markets falling not rising, if that were the case.

So what has Trump done to keep the markets, not only buoyant, but on the rise?

I know the answer for which I have given you numerous pointers to – but you don’t want to go there – so you get back to me and let me know what you believe is really happening to keep the stock markets from crashing as they should crash, if we were really in uncertain economic times?

    • 56 – well that comment puts me fair and square into your stupid or complicit pigeon hole.

Are you a scholar of Judaism?

Are you aware that it was the Jesuits who first brought about the ideology of Communism, and that Communist ideology first got a trot in Paraguay during the early 17th Century?

The Jesuits have no time for Jews – surely you’re aware of that?

      • Really strange, Nemesis!

The Jesuits were founded by “Conversos”, that is, Jews converted to Catholicism and they have been criticised (even canonically suppressed) for being too soft on Judaism and for importing Judaic tactics into their “evangelisation” of the rich and famous.

The Jesuits have been at the forefront of cunning miscreants subverting Christianity for about 100 years that I know of.

        • oldavid – Look up the Spanish Inquisition and who and what order ran that witch hunt – it certainly was not the Jews.

    • Terry – quite simply, that article is a hit piece. If ‘Q’ was a conspiracy then how are events planned two years ahead of the actual event itself – future proves past – as ‘Q’ states. And there have been many of them proven to date.

If you followed ‘Q’, as I do, then there are far too many ‘predictions’ put out that come true to be able to deny the Truth of what ‘Q’ purports to be – the most significant military intelligence operation of our time that leaks intelligence information to those folk whom it resonates with.

And I do Trust the Plan because so far to date, the Plan has come to fruition.

  13. When cash is prohibited, we are never going back to normal. That is the next step in this utterly monstrous reality facing all living today. No pass – no right to exist. That is no work no pleasure no participation at all. What will become of us unproductive eaters?
The ‘Internet of things’ was the biggest enforced scam and then this crown hysteria took over the whole world, in lockstep with luciferian agenda. With their tools and mirrors (screens) they are exposing themselves for all with their abominations.
Resist resist and keep on resisting.

    • 56 – the internet will be seen as the Globalist/Deep States downfall. If it wasn’t for the internet much of us now awake to some extent, would still be asleep.

Cash will remain. Trump is already circulating silver back 100 dollar notes that Kennedy tried to introduce back in 1962. Seems some things have changed already for the better.

  15. ‘ Oldavid ‘ , you might be old but the ‘ wiseness ‘ bit that usually accompanies age is lacking here ( certainly when it comes to the history of money – & notwithstanding some very sensible comments you’ve made on other topics ) .

It’s not because Terry or I deem it to be valuable , gold is valuable because separate civilisations , totally independent of each other , have figured out over 5000 years that gold is money – a medium of exchange that works better than any other .

We’re all familiar with China’s rise over the last 40 odd years & how so much of its people have been lifted from poverty . Well, that escape from poverty didn’t translate to every corner of the globe .

There was a period ( from just after the U.S Civil War to 1914 ), when the world was on a classical gold standard.

And in this period , the world enjoyed growth rates that is had never before seen or since.

David , you reeeeally need to do some research on WHY gold became that medium exchange that was trusted & FUNCTIONED better than any other system in human history.

I won’t bore anyone with a long monologue but its sufficient to say that a gold standard imposes FISCAL DISCIPLINE on governments.

ie: you must live withing your means , you cannot print too much of your paper currency & thus there will not be any Weimar Republic , Zimbabwe hyper inflations that destroy your economy & the middle class .

As for your ‘ how are my children nourished ‘ , I have more than a few gold mining shares that I’ve invested in & in contrast to the Share indices that have gone down all around the world ( which affect YOU David , even if you don’t own shares directly – a MASSIVE component of your superannuation is invested in the world’s stock markets so FOR SURE it’s been savaged ) , my share portfolio is WELL UP from it’s pre-COVID level .

And you can be certain , my uninformed friend , that my kids are VERY WELL nourished indeed as a result .

    • There’s something very intoxicating about money (particularly gold) that seems to mainly affect people who have grown up largely detached from the grubby practicalities involved in the production, distribution and exchange of physical goods and services. City bound white collar types whose “business” is largely saccharinising bull sh!t for public consumption seem to be most at risk of the illusions; the likes of speculators and other types of usurers, “journalists”, politicians and their bureaucrats (and I don’t think it’s accidental that most of those prominent in this category are lawyers).

They seem to assume that it’s their money (or some pile of gold somewhere) that makes it all happen. They are incapable of noticing that the Great Depression (or any other depression or recession for that matter) was not caused by all the gold and silver in the World suddenly evaporating. Nor was it caused by the Sun stopped shining or the rain stopped falling or that there was suddenly an acute shortage of skilled and willing workers. No, it was only that the megalomaniac money barons decided to reduce the amount of exchange medium (money) in circulation by calling in “loans” and reducing the amount (of money) issued (as fraudulent usury). It will not be of interest to gold lovers to know that Rome crashed economically and politically when there was no such thing as money except as gold and silver coins.

It doesn’t matter at all what money is made of. It could be a handshake that says “I’ll swap you this for that” which used to happen around here in neighbourly agreements. IOU’s are money! It’s a promise to provide something of value in return for something else of value. Even in Inglin way back debts to the Monarchy (IOU’s) were recorded as notches on a stick! It’s all “fiat money”. All money is based on the belief (I will) exchange this for that on the understanding that the money (exchange medium) will be accepted by someone else (on fiat) as representing some goods or services due. It doesn’t matter a bugger what the token is as long as it’s accepted as some transferable claim to goods and services.

I come from a long line of farmers and I grew up when a farmer had to have at least rudimentary knowledge and skills in just about every relevant practical discipline involved in capturing sunlight, water and minerals to turn them into products useful for human consumption… animal husbandry, agronomy, mechanics, electrics, hydraulics… even finance management and bookkeeping. There is nothing in agronomy, animal husbandry, or human nutrition that requires gold. Gold lovers only imagine that gold can extract the necessities of life out of a vacuum.

For better or worse the good nuns taught me to read in my childhood and I have had a deep and abiding interest in all things science and cultural ever since. For the past 40 years or more I have been mainly drawn to the “philosophical” side of things… what is it really? how does it work? why is it so? Back in the ’70’s I got consumed with the concept of money and I went after it with the kind of dedication that is often evidenced in people with my kind of “personality defects”… I don’t care, or know, much about political correctness or social politics.

Anyhow fellas, good luck with your pile of gold.

      • And if you come and offer me gold for the beans that could sustain good ordinary people I would tell you to fark off and eat your gold.

  16. And please , no more of these nonsensical ‘ you can’t eat gold ‘ comments from the charlatans.

Gold is an asset . Just like a rental property is an asset that earns rental income .

No, you can’t eat the soil beneath your rental property or the brick-veneer of its structure , but the RENTAL INCOME will feed your family quite nicely .

    • I always liked how the “You can’t eat gold!” comment is delivered with such a smug attitude that pretends to be one of profound wisdom – LOL!

It is usually delivered by someone that does NOT create their own food, but purchases it from someone else. Crikey, if you are a person that has to purchase your food, then you should be able to understand how important it is to have a quality medium of exchange.

      • It seems that the people who ridicule the observation that gold is not nutritious to any known organism seem to propose that it will save them from a shortage of food disaster.

Are you really saying that you can commandeer life’s necessities with a pocket full of practically useless (except as an ornament or conductor in micro circuits) yellow metal?

Terry! Us ordinary people can’t “create food”! We can only take what’s offered and try to make best use of it.

  17. The only thing wrong with that thinking, T.V., is that if the virus or whatever is that all prevailing, I shouldn’t think staying in your house would save you. If the duration of the shutdown was more than a short period the population would have died of starvation anyway.

  18. Ol’David , in relation to the ‘ not being able to grow crops without gold ‘ comment you made , obviously smallish plots from peasant farmers the world over producing subsistence farm output existed before gold became money – when things functioned by barter .

But we had the situation where a farmer might have traded 3 bushels of wheat for 10 chickens one year & that transaction was mutually satisfactory to both parties .

Then the following year the same transaction was proposed but the wheat farmer objected because the 10 chickens offered were smaller & scrawnier than the previous year.

OK you might say , they could renegotiate & trade 14 scrawny chickens for the wheat instead.

Fair enough, but what if the following year the wheat farmer instead only wanted to trade his wheat for leather shoes.

The chicken farmer then had to find a cobbler who wanted chickens .
And there being only one cobbler in this particular village , who may have had has fill of chickens , who instead wanted fruit & vegetables.

So the chicken farmer need to exchange his chooks for fruits & veg , so as to exchange that for leather shoes which in turn would buy the requisite wheat that he wanted all along .

    Very messy indeed.

That’s when the concept of ‘ money ‘ as a medium of exchange was adopted when civilisations adopted a unit of money that was CONSISTENT the world over & not subject to degradation .

We needed something that was rare , but not too rare . Something that had intrinsic value (highly valued in jewellery) , was divisible , malleable , reasonably compact , portable & that was not perishable or subject to oxidation (rust) like iron for example.

Gold & silver fit the bill perfectly .

Of course , we COULD function without gold as money IF societies had some fiscal discipline & did not overprint their currencies.

But that has NEVER happened in human history. Without the backing of gold, ALL fiat currencies go to ZERO eventually .

Yes, the British pound has stood the test of time since the Bank of England came about in the 1690’s & the USD has lasted over 200 years.

But bear in mind , that even though the Classical Gold standard ended in 1914 ( with the start of World War One ) , we had a defacto gold standard operating until 1971 – when Nixon renegged on the promise to exchange USD for gold.

So, what happened in the aftermath of the period from Aug 1971 when the world went off the gold standard ?

    From Aug 1971 to Jan 1980 , a period of just over 8 years , the gold price went from USD $ 35 / oz to $ 850 / oz . ( a 24 fold increase ) .

And those of us old enough will remember what the mid- late 1970s were – periods of massive inflation where those paper dollars you love so much Ol’David , rapidly lost purchasing power .

Hmm , not exactly a vote of confidence in the USD .

Anyway Ol’David , you stick with your Aussie dollars & Euros & Zimbabwean Zims & keep shoving them under your pillow & finding , that year after year you’ll be needing shovels more of them to be buying the basic items as your fiat currency loses purchasing power .

Let’s see how you’re faring in 10 or 15 years with your ‘ really intelligent ‘ philosophy versus Terry & my ‘ Rooly , rooly Styoopud ‘ ways .

As J.P Morgan replied over 100 years ago when asked what is money.
He said : ‘ Money is Gold , and nothing else ‘ .

  19. Just in from msn news comes this item titled : ‘ China escalates the pandemic propaganda war ‘ :

    https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/coronavirus/china-escalates-the-pandemic-propaganda-war/ar-BB14Jl1S?li=AAgfYrC&ocid=mailsignout

It would’ve been much more appropriate to title it : ‘ msn news escalates the pandemic propaganda war ‘ .

China’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman asked : ‘ Why doesn’t the U.S open its own biodefense lab in Fort Detrick to international inspectors ? ‘ .

Not an unreasonable request at all I would’ve thought if the U.S was truly interested in transparency .

This passage from the article above :

” This was a bizarre salvo in China’s propaganda war with the United States over the coronavirus, and it showcased Beijing’s latest information weaponry.

Misleading spin, obfuscation, concealment, and hyperbole have been hallmarks of the Chinese Communist Party’s propaganda campaign ” .

Hmmm , the last line above sure sounds a lot like the spin we’ve been hearing from other China bashing commenters right here on Gumshoe.

Now China-bashers , we ALL know that the western MSM is worthless & continually puts out misinformation .

Yet, their rhetoric neatly coincides with what the China haters have been saying.

Is that not a concern to you all ? ie: that your beliefs about China may not have been determined through independent thought but rather by continual subtle & subliminal anti-China rhetoric .

  20. Terry , the article you posted this morning on the Q hoax was very interesting .

The Q followers would do well to read it .

    • Truth – when one’s eyes have been opened to the Truth of anything, it is not easy to shut what the mind has absorbed. That article is a hit piece, it’s as simple as that.

  21. Ol’David brings out that Ol’chestnut of : ” a pile of gold will only buy beans if there’s someone with beans who’d rather have gold ” .

Well, I have news for you. The world has had countless incidences of famine & pestilence & all manner of cataclysms & throughout all of these, gold has ALWAYS BEEN accepted by those hoarding the bountiful agricultural output in exchange for said beans .

Always & Everywhere in every major civilisation ( there has NEVER been an exception ) !!

Are you willing to bet against thousands of years of recorded history Ol’ Dave ?

‘ We see that nations , differing in language , religion & habits …. have, during a period of near 4000 years , agreed in one respect ; that gold and silver have , uninterruptedly to this day , continued to be the universal currency of the commercial & civilised world . ……

….Albert Gallatin – Treasury Secretary under Thomas Jefferson .

  22. “gold has ALWAYS BEEN accepted by those hoarding the bountiful agricultural output”

Yep, what would you do? If you had a big hessian bag of beans, would you be willing to part with some of it for a hand full of paper fiat money? More likely if it wasn’t something you needed immediately, you might trade for a safe medium of exchange that you could use to purchase other items. Something that was universally recognized and accepted. Something that wouldn’t rot or rust as you held it, something that held its’ value, even year after year…

  23. Mal , I take note of your earlier comment but I suspect it may be your way of thinking that could be in error.

First of all , I don’t know where you got the notion that I’ll be ‘ staying in my house ‘ .

For starters I’ll be at the Anti-Vax rally in Sydney tomorrow that Mary’s spoken about earlier.

Then , as I have been doing CONTINUALLY throughout this lockdown . getting out & about in the sunshine – after all, as Dr Ron Paul & Rashid Buttar have been telling us , to name just two , Vitamin D will kill those viruses .

Perhaps you & others would do well to heed that advice , borrow a metal detector from a mate & go fossicking for some gold in the sunshine .

Won’t do you any harm .

Meanwhile , about the ‘ if the virus is prevailing , we’ll all die of starvation comment ‘ , I think you’ve missed the main take-away from the whole COVID fiasco .

The ruling cabal will NEVER introduce an AIRBORNE virus to cull the world’s population to any great degree ( at least not in western countries near to where they are concentrated ).

Yes, they will bioengineer something ( as they did with COVID-19) that will target black & dark skinned peoples more , seeing as they need four times the sun exposure that a white caucasian does to get the identical Vitamin D – & Vit D deficiency exacerbates the effect of COVID .

The cabal will NEVER cut off their nose to spite their face by introducing a virus that could COME BACK & SPREAD TO THEM & THEIR KIN .

That’s too great a risk to take .

The fact is , COVID-19 is one of DOZENS of Coronaviruses that exist & they have NOT made a vaccine to cure ANY of them .

Let’s be clear , this COVID hoax is all about FRIGHTENING THE GULLIBLE MASSES .

So that they are so scared that they start downloading ‘ COVID Tracking Apps ‘ on their phones ( as millions of fools already have in Oz ) .

They will be SO scared that they queue in line , by the millions , to have a VACCINE that their wise overlords say will cure Covid , acne , & grow hair on a bald head perhaps ?

This VACCINE will do the killing .

That’s because a vaccine will TARGET the fools dumb enough to take it.
The ruling cabal & their kin won’t be getting any shots .

Don’t you worry about that .

So, rest easy , their will be no airborne , transmittable viruses or chemicals that are going to do the culling .

Your local GP will be administering the toxins that, whilst not killing your sons & daughters outright ( that will be reserved for the vaccines going to 3rd world countries ) , will be sterilising them & terminating the Aussiemal bloodlines in short order .

    • TV, I can’t say I agree with everything you say, after all, I was a barrister and I prefer objective evidence for every opinion I make. However, I would not say you are wrong on your assessment, there is plenty of circumstantial evidence to support your opinion.

Anybody that believes ANYTHING promoted by the MSM has got to have rocks in their head.

      • Terry – your comment reminds me of an American Air Force Psychiatrist who was en- route to Japan, from Hawaii during the mid 1950 era aboard an Air Force C54 four engine prop-driven airliner.

A few hours out of Tokyo the plane began to be ‘buzzed’ by several disc shaped craft, and that obviously to those who witnessed them, were not man made. The observations went on for several minutes and when the plane landed, an Air Force officer came aboard and lectured/threatened everyone on board that they had seen nothing unusual on their flight.

When some years later, the Psychiatrist was asked about that incident, his response was, ‘I don’t believe in Flying Saucers!’

You’ve allowed yourself to become too conditioned to objectivity that having a more open mind may actually allow you to learn more from.

  24. “People are beating down the door to get into this trial.”

There is certainly no shortage of sick people in this world, mentally sick that is. The virus has been and gone. We are told by medical and virologist specialists that a herd immunity has been now set up. Why would there be any reason for a vaccine, except to make lots of money and to be used for an ulterior purpose.

Any future virus will once again be engineered in a laboratory and be made to get around that immunity.

  25. Fair enough Terry , like everyone else I will get it wrong from time to time .

However , they’re the conclusions I’ve drawn from my research – a significant amount having come from the postings on Gumshoe by the well informed people that frequent it .

  26. T.V. I wasn’t referring to you personally, I was pointing out to the masses a situation that could not work.

I, like you would not be sitting around in the house out of reach of vitamin D.

I have in this10-12 week disaster been serving it up to our local MP, who is the Minister of Health here in W.A. In between time have been gardening in the little sunshine that we had this week, or walking to the shop for essential items.

  27. Terry , just noticed your Australian Coins silver calculator link a moment ago.

    Very handy .

    Add to that : 0.500 silver coins for Britain , N.Z ( pre-1947 ) & Sth Africa 1951-mid 60’s , 0.925 for Britain pre-1920 , 0.900 for U.S pre-1965 , 0.800 for Canada pre-1968 & Sth Africa pre-1951 & you’ve covered a lot of bases .

  28. Mal , there will be times when I haven’t done the due diligence with my remarks & I will deservedly need to be called out personally.

Needless to say , any disagreements directed at me from you & most of the others here who I have the utmost respect for , will always be taken as constructive criticism or ‘ tough love ‘ .

That way we can debate the issue & throw around sometimes conflicting ideas that will hopefully lead to a clearer resolution of the matter .

  29. Ned , I hadn’t heard of Dr Scott Atlas from the video you posted earlier on but will be adding him to the list of truth telling medicos we know of . .

And , what about that photo of the nursery school in France & the ‘isolation boxes ‘ .
    It’s just getting ridiculous .

  30. And Ned , your last link which shows a 68 % spike in Central bank purchases in 2019 over 2018 says volumes .

Now, I’m guessing these same central banks could use the money to buy more beans or some other food staple ( because , as Ol’ David says , who’s going to trade their beans for Styoopud dumb old gold when they’re hungry ? ) .

Or, could there be another scenario that exists where the ruling elites have stashed away or will have access to a TONNE OF FOOD SUPPLIES , & buying a few kg more of beans is redundant .

No, the ruling oligarchs KNOW that the famine & pestilence ( that THEY created to cull the masses will pass eventually ), & that gold will be that medium to be used in the aftermath of the culling that will back the monetary systems of those economies ( & individual citizens ) , that survived the ‘ catastrophe ‘ by having the foresight to put some away as an insurance policy .

Yes , those that trusted paper money in Weimar Germany in the early 1920’s got wiped out , Those that had gold did very , very nicely indeed and emerged from the hyperinflation much better off than they started .

  31. How do scholars of Talmudism view Jesus and his mother?
I didn’t write it, only read it and that was enough for me.
There are many good Jews, that see through the bullshit. Then there are those that make living much more difficult than it should be for all people.

  32. The i of things, has been so convenient now we line up for the implants!!!
Everything to do, with this agenda, is the mark of beast.

    • 56 – I’m no weather man, just asked you a simple question. Obviously, I should then take from your answer, that you are no scholar of Judaism of which there are many branches?

Anyone can find many faults with all of this world’s religions, if one takes time to look.

The future you imagine will not eventuate.

  33. Nemesis,
‘weatherman’ was not meant at you, was just stating obvious
    A simple question, repeating.
How do scholars of Talmudism view Jesus and Mary

    • 56 – I believe you should be asking Jesus and Mary what they think of those who refuse to accept the dogma of other ‘religions’ concerning their own status.

      Would they even care?

All religions are control systems designed to keep the believer in check and on their ‘straight and narrow’ version of the road they should travel.

Do you honestly believe that those who deny this or that tenet within any religion makes one iota of difference to those who believe otherwise?

Do I believe in a Divine Creator, often referred to as God – Yes! But God does not need words in a book or a house to be worshipped in when and where believers are told to do so.

God is in everyone, and we are all part of God, it’s just that many do not realize this.

And no one needs an intermediary to talk with God.

  34. Nemesis , the 7000 pt rise in the Dow from the low is what’s called a ‘Suckers Rally ‘ .

A collapsing stock market is a sign of a troubled economy . Knowing this, the Usury Banking Cartel ( aka Federal Reserve) is digitally creating money ex nihilo to prop up the stock market – in the hope that it stays levitated until Trump is re-elected .

It’s doing this directly & indirectly .( Indirectly by buying junk bonds of zombie companies that should be allowed to go bust. But, if they go bust it will start a pandemonium of panic selling that could crash the entire market ) .

Also indirectly by purchasing Mortgage Backed Securities ( MBS ).

More than 25 % of Americans (officially) are unemployed – unofficially it’s worse .

Unemployed people don’t make mortgage payments .
Employed people who are now working fewer hours are struggling to make mortgage payments .
Cashed up potential buyers who (justifiably) fear for the future , are not expanding their property portfolio.
Why would you ? Wait a year or two & buy the property you want at 60 , 50 , perhaps 35 cents on the dollar ?

Subsidies / welfare from government are keeping some people afloat – for now.

But soon , there will be a FLOOD of houses going on the market as banks foreclose.
Then , a repeat of 2008 as banks become insolvent. ie: property prices drop & banks are owed more in unpayable mortgages than the property is worth.

( Most home loans in the U.S are non-recourse loans. ie: if the house value drops below what the house is worth so that you’re ‘ underwater’ on the loan , you can drop your house keys off at the bank & walk away from it. You are, by law , not on the hook to pay it off ) .

Meanwhile , well before you drop the house keys off at the bank , you just stop paying the mortgage. Due to consumer protections & red tape , it will be a minimum of 6 months before the bank can kick you out & perhaps it’ll be a year or more that you live there rent free .

Needless to say, while you’re there , this deprives the bank from getting a few cents on the dollar back by way of rental income or auctioning off said property to improve its balance sheet .

These banks share prices have already been savaged in recent months – but the worst is yet to come. When the banking sectors indices fully crash , the Dow / S & P 500 crash with it .

In the 1929 – 32 Great Depression stock market apocalypse , people assume that after that big drop in a day in October , that the stock market just kept falling precipitously .

    Wrong !!

After the big drop & some minor sell off that followed , the Dow retraced 50 % of the fall in 1930 in a classic suckers rally – as the name implies , it suckered in the fools that thought this was a great buying opportunity & merely a correction .

Bottom Line : The Dow ( index for the U.S stock market fell 89 % from crest to trough ).

No typo there – almost NINETY percent .

    Don’t think it won’t happen again .

And , as goes the Dow , so goes the All Ords .

    • Truth – the markets are still operating and rising – no crashes as you are predicting, or those you choose to believe are predicting. If Trump had not been President then we all would be in a very deep Depression because the markets would have been made to crash by the Central Banks.

After June this year, the American economy will begin to go gangbusters – mark my words.

Unemployment in the States is already dropping as businesses and manufacturing begins anew.

The same will happen here – you need to look where I’ve been pointing if you truly wish to see what is occurring.

  35. Nemesis , the markets may inch upward over the next few months & unemployment tick downwards as a few people go back to work ( not exactly a great achievement since it’s improving off a catastrophically low base ).

But there will be no ‘ recovery ‘ after June .

And certainly , after the election (if not before) , it will well & truly hit the fan .

  36. Ol’ David , in relation to your earlier comment :

    ” You can’t eat gold, TV !
You can’t even grow beans in it ! ” ,

you are missing the point .

No one is denying that people will need to eat food , need to wear clothes, need to have the electricity & gas working to heat their homes in winter.

What I am saying is , WHAT MEDIUM OF EXCHANGE will they use to buy their clothes & food , a pay for their energy bills ?

Because, no matter what apocalypse engulfs the world , no matter if its a virus or HAARP initiated earthquakes & tidal waves that wipes out 90 % of the world’s population , at the end of it , the 10 % remaining ( the criminal cabal that initiated said cataclysms) , will still live in some sort of civilisation.

And , EVERY civilisation of consequence in the last few thousand years has used SOME SORT OF MONEY , some sort of medium of exchange to transact between one another.

Now, is it your contention that we will be trading in fiat currency & if so, which one ?

Will it be Japanese Yen , Euros or , the most likely fiat currency to be the last man standing – the Swiss franc ?

Your analysis ONLY works IF , the civilisation that remains in the world regresses to the Bronze Age ( or even earlier ) & goes back to a BARTER ECONOMY .

My contention is, & ANY monetary expert will concur with me , is that there is NO CHANCE of civilised societies ever returning to a barter system.

That being so, & seeing as you say gold will not be accepted as the medium of exchange by people like you ( who will be telling all & sundry to fark off ) , then WHAT medium of exchange are you saying will supplant it ?

    I’m curious to know .

  37. Also Ol’ David , in relation to this comment of yours from earlier on :

” Rome crashed economically and politically when there was no such thing as money except as gold and silver coins ” ,

I do congratulate you on being well read (to an extent) in the ancient civilisations.

    Bravo !!

That said, if you read a little deeper , you would have known this :

The following is a paragraph from a Wikipedia article on ‘ Debasement ‘ :

” In Roman currency, the value of the denarius was gradually decreased over time as the Roman government altered both the size and the silver content of the coin.

Originally, the silver used was nearly pure, weighing about 4.5 grams. From time to time, this was reduced.

During the Julio-Claudian dynasty, the denarius contained approximately 4 grams of silver, and then was reduced to 3.8 grams under Nero.

The denarius continued to shrink in size and purity, until by the second half of the third century, it was only about 2% silver ” .

Bottom Line : The Roman Empire functioned well when the INTEGRITY of its coins was not in question.

BUT, as Emperors got greedy & DEBASED the currency in circulation by putting less & less precious metals in them & the masses got wise to this, there was a DIRECT CORRELATION between the debasement of the coins in Roman society and the eventual collapse of that empire.

Similarly, the U.S got off the gold standard in 1971 & , whilst it had a chairman of the Federal Reserve ( Paul Volcker ) in the early 80’s that HAD THE GUTS to raise the Fed Funds Rate to 20 % & thus SAVE THE U.S DOLLAR FROM A FREE-FALL SPIRAL into the abyss , there have not been any Fed Chairman since that would even contemplate that.

On the contrary, they have all done the EXACT OPPOSITE.

ie: unsustainable & reckless low interest rates & uncontrolled QE ( aka digitally creating USD by the trillion) which is DEBASING the USD & will inevitably end in the same fate as the Roman Empire – ie: complete collapse .

End of monetary history lesson .

    • Not very interesting, TV. I didn’t come down in the last shower of economist’s blather.

Money is not only an intoxicant it is also a narcotic that has the capacity to distort one’s perception of reality.

Money is nothing but a medium of exchange to facilitate economic activity; which is the production, distribution, exchange and consumption of goods and services. It is a man made convenience no matter what its token is… whether that token be bundles of salt, metal coins, pints of rum, cows, goats, shells, notches on a stick, ledger entries, IOU’s, handshake agreements, bank notes, or innumerable other effective promises of reciprocity for goods and services rendered in the larger economy.

There are two main causes of runaway inflation. One is the galahs that imagine that money causes economic activity (production, distribution etc. of goods and services) and the other is crows; usurers and speculators artificially driving up “costs” of production, distribution… etc. by demanding a “dividend” (in the way of “interest” or other profit taking) even though they contribute nothing to the enterprise.

While a lack of exchange medium (money) can seriously inhibit economic activity the reverse is not true. A surfeit of money cannot create economic activity where the means of production etc. are limited (let’s take post war Germany as an example). Germany’s infrastructure, industry and agriculture were pretty much destroyed in the war. More money could not restore what was lost… more money did not cause more product. The galahs with the “money supply” monopoly and their dupes did what they do best. Money devalued. Property devalued. The money-lending thieves had a field day divesting Germans of their property.

A more insidious form of inflation is is the institutionalised usury known as “capitalism”. All the impositions of usury in the whole chain of production, distribution etc. are “passed on” as “costs of production” in the price of goods and services down to the last consumer who cant even get a tax write off for the extortionate “taxes” he must pay in the price of the goods or services he consumes.

Piles of gold anywhere is not going to change that. Maybe in the short term gold could be speculatively assumed to be worth more than its real value as stuff to make jewellery and micro circuit conductors out of but it’s still only worth what it’s good for. It’s been good for making coinage because of its attractive lustre, malleability, ductility and inertness but it doesn’t make beans.

Good-oh, fellas, if you think that gold is the ultimate economic force I will give you all the gold I have and expect nothing useful in return.
