The staff of Gumshoe has to take a break for a few days — partly due to “candidacy events” up north, and partly due to our editor Dee McLachlan’s continuing work behind the scenes for the Mums whose kids have been snatched, and a workshop.

We try to talk up the positive here, about our meager successes in that area, but for the Mums “the road is long.” It is all they can do to stay alive. So, the song below is for them. And for the similarly situated Dads. With sympathy.

New Petition by ParentalRights.org

Meanwhile, a group in US is going against the child-stealing thing with renewed vigor. I ask that you consider signing on to their petition as they are merely trying to reach the goal (100,000 signatures) in order to qualify for a specific kind of White House attention.

The petitioners have not exactly picked the right target; family law is not a federal issue in the US. As the late Senator Nancy Schafer knew, it is for each of the states to deal with.

And there’s isn’t really a need for the constitutional amendment the petitioners  seek, in order for parents to have rights.  A natural right of parents to raise their own children is more than catered for in the Ninth Amendment of the Bill of Rights as follows:

“The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.”

  2. Off topic. From the impeachment:

    “Sondland previously told House investigators that he delivered a key message to a Ukrainian official this year: Trump would not unfreeze more than $390 million in assistance for Ukraine unless Ukraine made a public statement committing to investigations Trump believed might help him in the 2020 election.”

    I do not know Sondland from a bar of soap, so will have to wait for others to be deposed.

    This impeachment hearing makes me wish they had had one in 2017 about “the Russian probe.” Actually, Trump himself should have asked a Repub in the House to start one. Would have saved us from a year of more of total waste of time. Would have saved us having to pay Robert Mueller a salary as a “special prosecutor.”

    Impeachment is a proper procedure. Let’s see if anyone anywhere can tell the truth. Wouldn’t it be nice?

    • All I know is, under the hood, less scrutiny and more rubber stamping of bills/legislation to law. While we watch the peacocking of these birdies.

  4. In a Newcastle courtroom, re citizen’s arrest (where the arrested man died). From the ABC:

    Justice Desmond Fagan spent several hours directing the jury and told them the chokehold on Mr Slater would normally constitute an assault but they had to decide if it was an unlawful act during a citizen’s arrest.

    He said Mr Batterham was permitted by law to use reasonable force to detain someone who had committed an offence and stop them from escaping until police arrived.

    Justice Fagan said Mr Batterham would be not guilty if he believed he was defending himself from being bitten and attacked.

    • Witnessed by a top detective(since retired).
      Batterham(ex cop?), I never able to see toxicology on him but the court spilled other details – odd just saying.
      Mr Slater of course is not a complete innocent here. All three there at that time, odd.

  5. As I’ve pointed out before, the very concept of “rights” is conducive to absolute tyranny.
    Conversely, Deuteronomy 6: 7 sets down parental O B L I G A T I O N as follows:

    5)And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
    6)And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
    7)And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

    Kinda indicates that:
    * parents M U S T impart certain values to their children
    * in order to do so they M U S T have 24/7 access

    Problem solved, problem staying solved.

  7. I know the song well. To my best friend Al at 14 years of age I gave this single “He ain’t heavy he’s my Brother” following the death of his mother in 1969. RIP Jean.

That song “He ain’t heavy he’s my brother” breaks my heart- for very personal reason –even more so when I know how it was “used” good intent but perverted, by the Catholic Church to set up Boys Town like Engedine. It was used in some institutions as one of the children’s songs at gatherings. I was recently with a group of RAMCOA survivors and they new the song in that context.

  10. I have another angle for that song , I was a young impressionable lad deciding what to do with my life when the NSW coppers used it for a recruitment campaign. In short it got me. Believe me I am wide awake today yet still dealing with the emotional baggage from that journey. Been admiring the work on this site for some time, keep up the fight people. I live in hope that the tipping point for the collective consciousness is very possible. This is the first time I have ever spoken anywhere. All the best

    This is a great example of survivors telling the stories and publishing them themselves. This everyone can do, whether vide, audio or blogging. It avoids police, corporate media, “justice” system, social care system and is something everyone can do.

    The above video seems to add weight to a thought that has occurred to me over the last few days: Is there a kind of civil war in the Jewish/Zionist camp? It seems odd to me that Trump is being impeached, and Israel is heading for its’ third election this year.
