I have been communicating with a Canadian film production company via Skype for the last six months, but it seemed appropriate that we meet in person. I thus traveled to Canada last week to do business the old fashioned way – over dinner, in person. What a beautiful place Vancouver is – but there, in a coffee shop, I encountered people just going about their ibusiness. All ten patrons were busy on their laptops (I managed to fit eight in the picture above).

I spoke to many people during my travels, and surprisingly it feels that people all over are waking up: from the elderly Sacramento couple who believe that America is under threat of a one world government, to the Indian Sikh neuro-psychiatrist practicing in San Francisco who believes the medical profession needs a shake up over GMO foods, oversubscribed medications and artificially boosting our immune systems with vaccines.

I also watched many movies on the the long fifteen hour flights across the Pacific – including “Timbuktu”. This inspiring film was nominated for an Academy Award (Best Foreign Language Film) and is about religious fundamentalists forcing their rule in a village not far from the city of Timbuktu. They force dress codes on the women – and music, laughter, cigarettes, even soccer have been banned.

So they play without a ball.

I wonder if there is a message for the West there. Maybe we shouldn’t play “ball” any longer.

PS: I managed to evade four body scanners and I’ll be back to regular posting of articles.

  2. That’s gorgeous, playing soccer without a ball.
    The first thing that came to me was that we could change our wording so as to not get “caught” — e.g., 20 lashes for playing soccer. If we want to say “Martin Bryant didn’t do it” we could say “My cat didn’t do it.”
    Is that what you meant, Dee?
    Speaking of which, I see on Facebook that folks are invited to a meeting about “my cat” to be held at Hobart Airport on July 4 at noon. I wonder if the famous Wendy Scurr will be there.
    Or, should I say, I wonder if Maria Callas will be there.

    • I have not lost a bet yet when …….. playing golf without a ball!
      An election without any candidates would be my pick……. we presently have a mainstream media without jreal ournalists, so having no candidates would not be much different.

  3. I feel and know that people everywhere are WAKING UP to different parts of the puzzle at different rates.
    The key is to bring our collective knowing together and share to accelerate this process.

    • Dear Mark, Your comment leads to Lowell’s poem,” What Is So Rare As a Day in June?” The first 2 verses don’t work in the southern hemishere, but how about the third:
