Not in my lifetime, Paul (I came in with Truman). But then, before 1947 there was not quite such a grip by media. TV didn’t come in till the early 1950s. What I find amazing is that each time i turn my cell phone on, there is a headline on the screen ridiculing Trump. This has been a daily occurrence since I got here in May, 2017. Granted the headline is sometimes just a scare story (frequently it says “Severe storm likely today in your area — even tho this is false!)
And occasionally it is porn. This started with indirect stuff like “Oh, how small are bikinis getting?” But two days ago it was a man and woman in bed — explicit — and no way for a parent to curtail this appearing on the screen unsolicited. Maybe they are trying it out to make sure there is no way for people to oppose it.
