‘Metadata Monis’ and the Sydney ‘Siege’ Pt1

What a terrible ordeal for the families of Katrina Dawson and Tori Johnson. From reports, beautiful people – lost by the ‘blowback’ in the (once fraudulent) war on terror.

The above quote was meant for Monis, but there is a mirror meaning and unfortunately reflects what the west has been up to for more than a decade. And thus Dawson and Johnson have become ‘collateral damage’ from a evil plot forged by the Washington neocons. As Paul Craig Roberts (once the Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy (in the US) and associate editor of the Wall Street Journal) writes:

“The neoconservatives, a small group of warmongers strongly allied with the military/industrial complex and Israel, gave us Granada and the Contras affair in Nicaragua…  engineered the breakup of Yugoslavia, the war against Serbia, and the expansion of NATO to Russia’s borders…. gave us 9/11 and its coverup, the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, the beginning of the destabilizations of Pakistan and Yemen, the U.S. Africa Command, the invasion of South Ossetia by Georgia, the demise of the anti-ABM Treaty, unconstitutional and illegal spying on American citizens without warrants, loss of constitutional protections, torture, and the unaccountability of the executive branch to law, Congress, and the judiciary.

In his conclusion he states:

The United States and its allies have launched a military adventure which threatens the future of humanity”.

How can we expect to be part of an illegal war based on fabricated evidence that resulted in over a million dead – and expect no repercussions in our ‘lucky country’?

The propagandist media have lied about these wars and now insist this siege is ALL a result of ‘damaged goods’, someone ‘unhinged’, an evil ideological ‘nutter’. He may be all of those, but I propose that those who orchestrated the wars against the Middle East in the first place are unhinged. And Australia, sadly, was duped into being party to that destruction.

There is now a sea of flowers in Martin place that demonstrates how Australians have been affected by the deaths of these two people. An extraordinary expression of compassion. Let us hope we can direct this compassion in the right way in the future. The media and politicians have escalated this into a national ‘affair’ – and have made us believe this is a turning point in Australia. But—

The Sydney Siege has created a perfect storm for more legislation regarding the removal of our freedoms, privacy and possibly internet clampdown. It did not take long for the newly appointed Commissioner (1 Oct. 2014) of the Australian Federal Police – Mr Andrew Colvin – to call for the sweeping metadata laws to be passed.

Laws have been triggered by events, for example: Port Arthur, the false flag of 9/11, the passportless underwear bomber etc.

I wrote in September that a 41 year old member of the Australian Defence Force was threatened and assaulted by two men of Middle Eastern appearance on the Thursday morning (25th) at 6.30 am.  Suffering minor bruising, he reported the matter to police.  The media did their usual blitz – and warned us that the fight is now on Australian shores. Later that night, legislation to beef up the powers of the domestic spy agency ASIO, passed in the Senate (including new laws focused on restricting journalists). At midday the following day the NSW Police announced the “allegation of assault has now been withdrawn”. I will continue to track this incident.

We need to be questioning and examine with clarity.

I will be making an analysis of the siege in Part 2, but one aspect is unusual:

Releasing Monis’s Identity

It is clear that early on in the siege, the police would have identified Monis and established he was alone – and that this was looking like a ‘lone-wolf’ attack. They would have thus ascertained who they were dealing with – an ideologically fickle, media hungry, criminal/offender.

Yet the nation was kept in the dark the whole day and well into the night. It was carefully worded that we should not make assumptions, but we were left to imagine the worst ISIS-type terrorist was at the Lindt cafe. And that Australia had been invaded; our security had failed us. His name was eventually released late that night, when most people had retired to bed.

Surely, if his name had been released early on, this would have put the correct perspective on the attack – or the siege. We as Australians would have had a better understanding of what was happening. But by not releasing his name – the police, the politicians and the media escalated this into a “terrorist siege” by default.

And the aftermath: More laws – metadata laws – to sweep up everyone’s private life, to, as Prime Minister Tony Abbott says, “to keep us safe“.
